روزِ اوّل ماہِ رمضان
The rites of the first day of Ramadan are as follows:
First: It is recommended to bathe oneself in flowing water and to pour on the head thirty handfuls of water, for such a deed brings about security against all pains and ailments up to the next year.
Second: It is recommended to wash one’s face with a handful of rose water so as to be saved against humiliation and poverty, and to pour some of it on the head so as to be saved from pleurisy.
Third: It is recommended to offer the prayer of the first of the month that consists of two units and to give alms after that.
Fourth: It is recommended to offer a two-unit prayer at the first of which Surah al-Faatehah and Surah al-Fath (No. 48) should be recited and at the second, Surah al-Faatehah and any other Surah. If one offers this prayer, Almighty Allah will save him from all evils and will keep him under His custody up to the next year.
Fifth: When the dawn (fajr) breaks forth, it is recommended to say the following supplicatory prayer:
اَللّٰهُمَّ قَدْ حَضَرَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ،
O Allah, the month of Ramadan has commenced.
خدایا ماہِ رمضان آگیا
وَقَدِ افْتَرَضْتَ عَلَيْنَا صِيَامَهُ،
You have made obligatory upon us to observe fasting during it.
اور تو نے اس میں روزہ واجب کردیا ہے
وَاَنْزَلْتَ فِيْهِ الْقُرَاٰنَ
You revealed the Qur'an in it
اور قرآن نازل کیا ہے
هُدًى لِلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الْهُدٰى وَالْفُرْقَانِ،
as guidance for people and clear proofs of true guidance and distinction (between the right and the wrong).
جو لوگوں کے لیے ہدایت اور تمیزِ حق و باطل کی نشانی ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَعِنَّا عَلٰى صِيَامِهِ،
O Allah, (please) help us observe fasting in it,
خدایا ان روزوں پر ہماری امداد فرما
وَتَقَبَّلْهُ مِنَّا
accept it from us,
اور انھیں قبول کرلے۔
وَتَسَلَّمْهُ مِنَّا
receive it from us (with acceptance),
اسے ہمارے لیے سلامتی قرار دے دے
وَسَلِّمْهُ لَنَا في يُسْرٍ مِنَكَ وَعَافِيَةٍ
and keep it sound for us witheasiness and good health from You.
اور ہمیں سہولت و عافیت کے ساتھ سلامت رکھنا
اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ۔
You verily have power over all things.
کہ تو ہر شئے پر قدرت رکھنے والا ہے۔
Sixth: If one has not had the opportunity to say it at night, it is recommended to say the supplication No. 44 of al-Sahifah al-Kamilah al-Sajjadiyyah, which has been previously cited.
Seventh: In his book of Zad al-Ma’ad, ‘Allamah al-Majlisi has mentioned that al-Kulayni, al-Tusi, and others, through an authentic chain of authority, have reported Imam Musa al-Kazim (a.s.) as saying, “Say the following supplicatory prayer in the month of Ramadan (on the first day of it, as is understood by scholars), for whoever prays Almighty Allah with this supplicatory prayer purely and without associating any false purposes or showing off, will be saved throughout that year from all seditious and misleading matters as well as all afflictions that may injure his religion or his body. In addition, Almighty Allah will save him from the evils of all the misfortunes that will take place that year.” The supplicatory prayer is as follows:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّي اَسْاَلُكَ بِاِسْمِكَ الَّذِيْ دَانَ لَهُ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ،
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of Your Name before which everything kneels down,
خدایا میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں اس نام کے سہارے جس کے لیے ہر شئے اطاعت گذار ہے۔
وَبِرَحْمَتِكَ الَّتِيْ وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ،
in the name of Your mercy which encompasses everything,
اس رحمت کے ذریعہ جو ہر شئے پر حاوی ہے۔
وَبِعَظَمَتِكَ الَّتِيْ تَوَاضَعَ لَهَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ،
in the name of Your greatness which dwarfs everything,
اس عظمت کے ذریعہ جس کے سامنے ہر شئے متواضع ہے۔
وَبِعِزَّتِكَ الَّتِيْ قَهَرَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ،
in the name of Your power which subdues everything,
اس عزّت کے ذریعہ جو ہر شئے پر غالب ہے۔
وَبِقُوَّتِكَ الَّتِيْ خَضَعَ لَهَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ،
in the name of Your control which dominates everything,
اس قوّت کے ذریعہ جس کے لیے ہے شئے خاضع ہے
وَبِجَبَرُوْتِكَ الَّتِيْ غَلَبَتْ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ،
in the name of Your omnipotence which overreaches and possesses everything,
اس جبروت کے ذریعہ جو ہر شئے پر غالب ہے۔
وَبِعِلْمِكَ الَّذِيْ اَحَاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ،
and in the name of Your knowledge which comprehends everything.
اس علم کے ذریعہ جو ہر شئے پر محیط ہے۔
يَا نُوْرُ يَا قُدُّوْسُ،
O Light! O Holy!
اے نورِ کامل، اے پاکیزہ صفات
يَا اَوَّلَ قَبْلَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ،
O Foremost before everything!
جو ہر شئے کے پہلے سے ہے
وَيَا بَاقِيًا بَعْدَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ،
O Ever-living after all things!
اور ہر شئے کے بعد تک رہنے والا ہے۔
يَا اَللهُ يَا رَحْمٰنُ،
O Allah! O All-beneficent!
اے اللہ اے رحمٰن
صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
Send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر رحمت نازل فرما
وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِيْ تُغَيِّرُ النِّعَمَ،
forgive me my sins that alter the bounties,
اور ہمارے ان گناہوں کو معاف کردے جو نعمتوں کو بدل دیتے ہیں
وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِيْ تُنْزِلُ النِّقَمَ،
forgive me my sins that bring in punishments,
اور عذاب نازل کرادیتے ہیں
وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِيْ تَقْطَعُ الرَّجَاۤءَ،
forgive me my sins that cut off hope,
اور امیدوں کو منقطع کردیتے ہیں
وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ لذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِيْ تُدِيْلُ الْاَعْدَاۤءَ،
forgive me my sins that give ascendancy to the enemies,
اور دشمنوں کو غالب بنادیتے ہیں
وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِىْ تَرُدُّ الدُّعَاۤءَ،
forgive me my sins that preclude the prayers,
اور دعاؤں کو رد کردیتے ہیں
وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِيْ يُسْتَحَقُّ بِهَا نُزُوْلُ الْبَلَاۤءِ
forgive me my sins that make me liable to suffer misfortunes,
اور نزولِ بلا کا مستحق بنا دیتے ہیں۔
وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِيْ تَحْبِسُ غَيْثَ السَّمَاۤءِ،
forgive me my sins that stops the rain of the sky,
آسمان کی بارش کو روک دیتے ہیں
وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِيْ تَكْشِفُ الْغِطَاۤءَ،
forgive me my sins that lay bare the sealed,
اور پردوں کو اُٹھا دیتے ہیں۔
وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِيْ تُعَجِّلُ الْفَنَاۤءَ،
forgive me my sins that whip off destruction,
فنا میں عجلت کا سبب بنتے ہیں
وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِيْ تُوْرِثُ النَّدَمَ،
forgive me my sins that leave behind remorse,
اور شرمندگی کا باعث ہوجاتے ہیں
وَاغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوْبَ الَّتِيْ تَهْتِكُ الْعِصَمَ،
forgive me my sins that tear up my integrity,
اور عزّت و آبرو کو برباد کردیتے ہیں۔
وَاَلْبِسْنِيْ دِرْعَكَ الْحَصِيْنَةَ الَّتِيْ لَا تُرَامُ،
surround me with Your impregnable and invincible shield,
خدایا مجھے وہ محکم ذرہ پہنادے جس پر کسی کا اثر نہ ہو
وَعَافِنِيْ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا اُحَاذِرُ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ فِيْ مُسْتَقْبِلِ سَنَتِيْ هٰذِهِ،
and keep me safe from the evil of I beware in nights and days in the beginning of this year.
اور مجھے ہر اس شر سے محفوظ رکھنا جس کا مجھے خوف ہے چاہے دن میں ہو یا رات میں اس پورے سال میں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ،
O Allah, the Lord of the seven skies,
اے ساتوں آسمان،
وَرَبَّ الْاَرَضِيْنَ السَّبْعِ وَمَا فِيْهِنَّ وَما بَيْنَهُنَّ،
the Lord of the seven (layers of) earth, all that is therein, and all that is between them,
ساتوں زمین اور ان کے درمیان کی تمام اشیاء
وَرَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيْمِ،
the Lord of the Great Throne,
اور عرشِ عظیم کے پروردگار۔
وَرَبَّ السَبْعِ الْمَثَانِيْ، وَالْقُرْاٰنِ الْعَظِيْمِ،
the Lord of the seven oft-repeated verses and the matchless Quran,
اے سبعِ مثانی اور قرآنِ عظیم کے مالک۔
وَرَبَّ اِسْرَافِيْلَ وَمِيْكَاۤئِيْلَ وَجَبْرَاۤئِيْلَ،
the Lord of (Archangels) Seraph, Michael, and Gabriel,
اسرافیل، میکائیل اور جبرئیل کے پروردگار
وَرَبَّ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهِ سَيِّدِ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ وَخَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّيْنَ،
and the Lord of Muhammad, blessings of Allah be on him and on his Household, the Chief of the Messengers, the Seal of Prophet!
اور حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ سید المرسلین، خاتم النبیین کے رب
اَسْاَلُكَ بِكَ وَبِمَا سَمَّيْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ
I beseech You in Your name and in the name of that which You referred to Yourself!
میں تجھ سے تیرے اسماء کے ذریعہ سے سوال کرتا ہوں۔
يَا عَظِيْمُ اَنْتَ الَّذِيْ تَمُنَّ بِالْعَظِيْمِ،
O Great! You are He who distributes bounties freely,
اے خدائے عظیم تو وہ ہے جو عظیم احسانات کرتا ہے
وَتَدْفَعُ كُلَّ مَحْذُوْرٍ،
repels all avoided things,
ہر برائی کو دور کردیتا ہے۔
وَتُعْطِيْ كُلَّ جَزِيْلٍ،
gives all abundant things,
کثیر عطیے عطا کرتا ہے۔
وَتُضَاعِفُ الْحَسَنَاتِ بِالْقَلِيْلِ وَبِالْكَثِيْرِ،
doubles the recompense of good deeds with little and much recompense,
قلیل حسنات میں اضافہ کردیتا ہے
وَتَفْعَلُ مَا تَشَاۤءُ
and does what He wills.
اور جو چاہتا ہے وہ کردیتا ہے۔
يَا قَدِيْرُ يَا اَللهُ يَا رَحْمٰنُ،
O Omnipotent! O Allah! O All-beneficent!
اے خدائے قدیر، اے اللہ، اے رحمٰن،
صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ،
Send blessings to Muhammad and his Household,
حضرت محمدؐ اور ان کے اہل بیتؑ پر رحمت نازل فرما
وَاَلْبِسْنِيْ فِيْ مُسْتَقْبَلِ سَنَتِيْ هٰذِهِ سِتْرَكَ،
surround me, during this year, with Your protection,
اور مجھے آنے والے سال میں لباسِ عافیت عنایت فرما۔
وَنَضِّرْ وَجْهِيْ بِنُوْرِكَ،
let Your light beautify my face,
ہمارے چہرہ کو اپنے نور سے تازگی دے دے۔
وَاَحِبَّنِيْ بِمَحَبَّتِكَ،
let Your love draw me closest to You,
ہمیں اپنی محبّت عنایت فرما
وَبَلِّغْنِيْ رِضْوَانَكَ،
and let Your pleasure to reach me
اور پہنچا دے اپنی رضا بزرگی ،
وَشَرِيْفَ كَرَامَتِكَ،
as well as Your excellent generosity
اور عظیم کرامت ،
وَجَسِيْمَ عَطِيَّتِكَ،
and Your weighty rewards.
اور بزرگ نعمتوں تک ۔
وَاَعْطِنِيْ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا عِنْدَكَ
Give me from the good that You have
ہمیں اپنی بارگاہ سے ہر خیر عطا فرما
وَمِنْ خَيْرِ مَا اَنْتَ مُعْطِيْهِ اَحَدًا مِنْ خَلْقِكَ،
and from the good You give to any one from among Your creation,
اور جو خیر بھی تو نے کسی کو بھی دیا ہو
وَاَلْبِسْنِيْ مَعَ ذٰلِكَ عَافِيَتَكَ
and with that kind of Your protection, keep me safe.
اور ان سب کے ساتھ لباسِ عافیت عطا فرما۔
يَا مَوْضِعَ كُلِّ شَكْوٰى،
O He Who settles all complaints!
اے ہر فریاد کی منزل،
وَيَا شَاهِدَ كُلِّ نَجْوٰى،
O He Who witnesses all confidential talks!
ہر راز کے رازدار،
وَيَا عَالِمَ كُلِّ خَفِيَّةِ،
O He Who knows all hidden things!
ہر مخفی کے عالم،
وَيَا دَافِعَ مَا تَشَاۤءُ مِنْ بَلِيَّةٍ،
O He Who repels whatever misfortune He wishes!
ہر بلا کے دفع کرنے والے،
يَا كَرِيْمَ الْعَفْوِ،
O He Who is oft- forgiving compassionate!
اے عفو کرنے والے،
يَا حَسَنَ التَّجَاوُزِ،
O He Who overlooks excellently!
اے بہترین درگذر کرنے والے،
تَوَفَّنِيْ عَلٰى مِلَّةِ اِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَفِطْرَتِهِ،
Make me die following religion and nature of Abraham,
ہمیں ملّت و فطرتِ ابراہیم
وَعَلٰى دِيْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهِ وَسُنَّتِهِ،
the faith and traditions of Muhammad,
اور دین و سنّتِ پیغمبر پر دنیا سے اُٹھانا
وَعَلٰى خَيْرِ الْوَفَاةِ، فَتَوَفَّنِيْ مُوَالِيًا لِاَوْلِيَآئِكَ،
with the best departure, make me die following Your friends,
اور بہترین وفات دینا، جہاں میں تیرے اولیاء کا دوست
وَمُعَادِيًا لِاَعْدَآئِكَ،
and antagonizing Your enemies.
اور تیرے دشمنوں کا دشمن ہوں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَجَنِّبْنِيْ فِيْ هٰذِهِ السَّنَةِ
O Allah, keep me far off, during his year,
خدایا اس سال مجھے ہر اس
كُلَّ عَمَلٍ اَوْ قَوْلٍ اَوْ فِعْلٍ يُبَاعِدُنِيْ مِنْكَ،
from every deed, word, or act that takes me away from You,
عمل اور قول وفعل سے محفوظ رکھنا جو تجھ سے دور بنادے
وَاَجْلِبْنِيْ اِلَى كُلِّ عَمَلٍ اَوْ قَوْلٍ اَوْ فِعْلٍ
bring me near to every deed, word, or act
اور مجھے ہر اس قول و عمل و فعل کی طرف کھینچ لے
يُقَرِّبُنِيْ مِنْكَ فِيْ هٰذِهِ السَّنَةِ
that takes me near to You in this year.
جو تجھ سے قریب تر بنادے۔
يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ،
O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
اے بہترین رحم کرنے والے
وَامْنَعْنِيْ مِنْ كُلِّ عَمَلٍ اَوْ قَوْلٍ اَوْ فِعْلٍ
Forbid me to do any deed, word, or act
ہمیں ہر اس عمل، قول یا فعل سے بچالینا
يَكُوْنُ مِنِّي اَخَافُ ضَرَرَ عَاقِبَتِهِ،
that I fear its result,
جن کے انجام کے خوف سے
وَاَخَافُ مَقْتَكَ اِيَّايَ عَلَيْهِ
and I fear Your wrath because of it;
میں خوف زدہ ہوں
حِذَارَ اَنْ تَصْرِفَ وَجْهَكَ الْكَرِيْمَ عَنِّيْ
lest, You may turn Your Noble Face away from me.
اور جس پر تیرے عذاب سے ڈرتا ہوں، ایسا نہ ہو کہ تو مجھ سے منہ موڑلے
فَاَسْتَوْجِبَ بِهِ نَقْصًا مِنْ حَظٍّ لِيْ عِنْدَكَ
Then, I am restrained from obtaining my share of good fortune.
تو میں اپنے حصّہ میں کسی کا سزاوار ہوجاؤں۔
يَا رَؤُوْفُ يَا رَحِيْمُ،
O Compassionate! O Merciful!
اے رؤف، اے رحیم۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِيْ فِيْ مُسْتَقْبَلِ سَنَتِيْ هٰذِهِ فِيْ حِفْظِكَ
O Allah, keep me, throughout this year, under Your protection,
خدایا مجھے اس سال کے مستقبل میں اپنی حفاظت،
وَفِيْ جِوَارِكَ وَفِيْ كَنَفِكَ،
in Your vicinity, and under Your care.
اپنے جوار، اپنی پناہ میں رکھنا۔
وَجَلِّلْنِيْ سِتْرَ عَافِيَتِكَ،
Cover me with Your protective covering,
ہمیں لباسِ عافیت
وَهَبْ لِيْ كَرَامَتَكَ،
and give me Your kindness.
و کرامت عطا فرما۔
عَزَّ جَارُكَ
Strong is he who is in Your vicinity,
یقیناً میرا ہمسایہ با عزّت
وَجَلَّ ثَنَآؤُكَ
glorious is Your praise,
اور تیری ثنا جلیل ہے۔
وَلَا اِلـٰهَ غَيْرُكَ،
and there is no god but You.
اے اللہ تیرے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِيْ تَابِعًا لِصَالِحِيْ مَنْ مَضٰى مِنْ اَوْلِيَآئِكَ،
O Allah, make me follow the example of Your upright intimate servants,
خدایا ہمیں اپنے گذشتہ نیک اولیاء کا تابع بنا دینا
وَاَلْحِقْنِيْ بِهِمْ
attach me to them,
اور انھیں سے ملحق کردینا
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ مُسْلِمًا لِمَنْ قَالَ بِالصِّدْقِ عَلَيْكَ مِنْهُمْ،
make me submissive to those who convey from You truthfully.
اور جو بھی کلمۂ صدق کہنے والے ہیں ان کے لیے سراپا تسلیم بنا دینا۔
وَاَعُوْذُ بِكَ اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْ تُحِيْطَ بِيْ خَطِيْئَتِيْ وَظُلْمِيْ
I seek Your protection, O my God, lest I am encompassed by my sin, wrongdoing,
خدایا میں اس بات سے پناہ چاہتا ہوں کہ میری خطائیں، میرا ظلم،
وَاِسْرَافِيْ عَلٰى نَفْسِيْ، وَاتِّبَاعِيْ لِهَوَايَ،
immoderation towards myself, going after my whims,
میری نفس پر زیادتی، میری خواہشات کا اتباع،
وَاشْتِغَالِيْ بِشَهَوَاتِيْ،
and being involved in my caprices;
میری شہوت پرستی مجھ پر غالب آجائے
فَيَحُوْلُ ذٰلِكَ بَيْنِيْ وَبَيْنَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَرِضْوَانِكَ
as a result, all that will prevent me from attained Your mercy and pleasure
اور میرے اور تیری رحمت و رضا کے درمیان حائل ہوجائے
فَاَكُوْنُ مَنْسِيًّا عِنْدَكَ،
and I may be forsaken by You
تو میں تیری بارگاہ میں بھلا دیا جاؤں
مُتَعَرِّضًا لِسَخَطِكَ وَنِقْمَتِكَ،
and exposed to Your wrath and chastisement.
یا تیری ناراضگی اور عذاب کا نشانہ بن جاؤں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَفِّقْنِيْ لِكُلِّ عَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ تَرْضٰى بِهِ عَنِّي،
O Allah, please guide me successfully to every righteous deed due to which You be pleased with me
خدایا مجھے ہر اس عمل نیک کی توفیق دے جس سے تو راضی ہوجائے
وَقَرِّبْنِي اِلَيْكَ زُلْفِى،
and take me nearer to You.
اور مجھے اپنے سے قریب تر بنالے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ كَمَا كَفَيْتَ نَبِيَّكَ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهِ هَوْلَ عَدُوِّهِ،
O Allah, just as You saved Your Prophet Muhammad— blessings of Allah be on him and his Household—from the terror of his enemies,
مالک جس طرح تو نے حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ کو دشمن کے ہول سے بچایا ہے
وَفَرَّجْتَ هَمَّهُ،
removed his anxieties,
اور ہم و
وَكَشَفْتَ غَمَّهُ،
dispersed his troubles,
غم کو دور کیا ہے۔
وَصَدَقْتَهُ وَعْدَكَ،
proved true the promise You made to him,
اپنے وعدہ کو ان سے پورا کیا ہے
وَاَنْجَزْتَ لَهُ عَهْدَكَ،
and fulfilled Your word to him,
اور اپنے عہد کو وفا کیا ہے
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَبِذٰلِكَ فَاكْفِنِيْ هَوْلَ هٰذِهِ السَّنَةِ
so also, O Allah, keep me safe from the horror of this year
خدایا اسی طرح میرے واسطے بھی اس سال کے ہول،
وَاٰفَاتِهَا وَاَسْقَامَهَا
as well as its epidemics, ailments,
آفات، امراض،
وَفِتْنَتَهَا وَشُرُوْرَهَا
sedition, evils,
فتنہ اور شر،
وَاَحْزَانَهَا وَضِيْقَ الْمَعَاشِ فِيْهَا،
sadnesses, and economic distress.
رنج و غم، تنگیٔ معاش سے بچنے کے لیے تو کافی ہوجا۔
وَبَلِّغْنِيْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ كَمَالَ الْعَافِيَةِ
In the name of Your mercy, make me attain perfect wellbeing
اپنی رحمت سے ہمیں کمالِ عافیت
بِتَمَامِ دَوَامِ النِّعْمَةِ عِنْدِيْ اِلٰى مُنْتَهٰى اَجَلِيْ،
through the perfection of the perpetuity of Your favors to me up to the end of my lifetime.
اور تمام نعمت تک پہنچا دے یہاں تک کہ میں دنیا سے چلا جاؤں۔
اَسْاَلُكَ سُؤَالَ مَنْ اَسَاۤءَ وَظَلَمَ وَاسْتَكَانَ وَاعْتَرَفَ،
I beseech You the beseeching of one who has made mistake and wronged, but then submitted and confessed.
خدایا میرا سوال اس بندہ کا سوال ہے جو بد عمل، ظالم، ذلیل اور گناہوں کا معترف ہے
وَاَسْاَلُكَ اَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِيْ مَا مَضٰى مِنَ الذُّنُوْبِ
I beseech You to forgive those earlier sins
اور سوال یہ ہے کہ میرے ان تمام گناہوں کو معاف کردے
الَّتِيْ حَصْرَتَهَا حَفَظَتُكَ
which are counted by Your Preserving Angels
جن کو تیرے فرشتوں نے محفوظ کیا ہے
وَاَحْصَتْهَا كِرَامُ مَلَآئِكَتِكَ عَلَيَّ،
and recorded by Your appointed Angels,
اور محترم ملائکہ نے لکھ لیا ہے
وَاَنْ تَعْصِمَنِيْ اِلـٰهِيْ مِنَ الذُّنُوْبِ
to protect me, O Allah, against sinning
اور گناہوں سے محفوظ رکھنا
فِيْـمَا بَقِيَ مِنْ عُمْرِيْ اِلٰى مُنْتَهٰى اَجَلِيْ،
in the rest of my lifetime up to my death.
مجھے آئندہ عمر میں آخرِ حیات تک ۔
يَا اَللهُ يَا رَحْمٰنُ يَا رَحِيْمُ،
O Allah! O All-beneficent! O All-merciful!
اے اللہ، اے رحمٰن، اے رحیم
صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاَهْلِ بَيْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
Send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر رحمت نازل فرما
وَاٰتِنِيْ كُلَّ مَا سَاَلْتُكَ وَرَغِبْتُ اِلَيْكَ فِيْهِ،
and give me whatever I have asked from You and whatever I have desirably wanted from You,
اور میرے سوال کو اور میری ہر خواہش کو عطا فرمادے۔
فَاِنَّكَ اَمَرْتَنِيْ بِالدُّعَاۤءِ
for You have ordered me to pray You
اس لیے کہ تو نے دعا کا حکم دیا ہے
وَتَكَفَّلْتَ لِيْ بِالْاِجَابَةِ
and You have promised of response.
اور قبولیت کی ذمّہ داری لی ہے۔
يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ۔
O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
اے خدائے رحمٰن و رحیم۔
It is worth mentioning that Sayyid Ibn Tawus has mentioned this supplicatory prayer within the rites of the first night of Ramadan.
