ماہِ رمضان کی چاند رات کے دوسرے اعمال
Fourth: It is recommended for husbands to have sexual intercourse with their wives at this night. In fact, it is discommended to have sexual intercourse with wives at the first night of the Arabic months; rather, this exception is one of the peculiarities of the holy month of Ramadan.
Fifth: It is highly advisable to bathe oneself at this night. A Hadith reads that if one washes himself at the first night of Ramadan, one will be secured against prurigo up to the next Ramadan.
Sixth: It is recommended to bathe oneself in a flowing river and to pour on the head thirty handfuls of water so as to be mentally pure up to the next Ramadan.
Seventh: It is recommended to visit the holy tomb of Imam al-Husayn (a.s.) so that sins will be forgiven and the like of the reward of those who undertake Hajj and ‘Umrah in that year will be gained.
Eighth: It is recommended, at this night, to begin with the one thousand unit prayer that has been previously mentioned at the end of the second part of the rites of Ramadan.
Ninth: It is recommended to offer a two unit prayer reciting in each unit Surah al-Faatehah and Surah al-An’am (No. 6) and to pray Almighty Allah for security against apprehensions and ailments.
Tenth: It is recommended to say the aforementioned supplicatory prayer that begins with:
اَللّٰـهُمَّ اِنَّ هٰذَا الشَّهْرَ الْمُبَارَكَ الَّذِيْ اُنْزِلَ فِيْهِ الْقُرْآنُ …
O Allah, this is the blessed month wherein the Holy Qur'an was revealed...
خدایا یہ وہ مبارک مہینہ ہے جس میں قرآن نازل کیا گیا ہے ۔۔۔
This supplicatory prayer has been mentioned within the rites of the last night of Sha’ban.
Eleventh: It is recommended to say the following supplicatory prayer while raising the hands after the Maghrib Prayer. The supplicatory prayer has been reported in al-Iqbal from Imam Muhammad and Jawad al-Taqi(a.s.):
اَللّٰهُمَّ يَا مَنْ يَمْلِكُ التَّدْبِيْرَ
O Allah Who controls the management of all affairs
اے وہ جو تدبیر کا مالک ہے
وَهُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ،
and He has power over all things!
اور ہر شئے پر قادر ہے۔
يَا مَنْ يَعْلَمُ خَآئِنَةَ الْاَعْيُنِ
O He Who knows the stealth of looks,
اے وہ خدا جو آنکھوں کی خیانت
وَمَا تُخْفِيْ الصُّدُوْرِ وَتُجِنُّ الضَّمِيْرُ
that which breasts conceal, and that which selves hide
اور دلوں کے راز اور ضمیروں کے اسرار کو جانتا ہے
وَهُوَ اللَّطِيْفُ الْخَبِيْرُ،
and He is the Knower of subtle, the Aware!
اور وہ لطیف و خبیر ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْنَا مِمَّنْ نَوٰى فَعَمِلَ،
O Allah, (please do) include us with those who intend and carried out their intentions,
خدایا مجھے ان میں قرار دے جو نیّت کریں تو عمل بھی کریں۔
وَلَا تَجْعَلْنَا مِمَّنْ شَقِيَ فَكَسِلَ،
and do not include us with those who are unhappy due to their laziness
ان میں نہیں جو شقاوت کی بنا پر سستی سے کام لیں
وَلَا مِمَّنْ هُوَ عَلٰى غَيْرِ عَمَلِ يَتَّكِلُ،
or with those who depend upon unreal hopes.
اور نہ ان میں جو عمل کے علاوہ کسی اور چیز پر بھروسہ کریں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَحِّحْ اَبْدَانَنَا مِنَ الْعِلَلِ،
O Allah, (please do) cure our bodies from ailments
خدایا ہمارے جسموں کو بیماریوں سے تندرست رکھنا
وَاَعِنَّا عَلٰى مَا افْتَرَضْتَ عَلَيْنَا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ،
and help us carry out the deeds You have made incumbent upon us to do
اور ہماری اس عمل پر مدد کرنا جو تو نے واجب قرار دیا ہے۔
حَتّٰى يَنْقَضِيَ عَنَّا شَهْرُكَ هَذَا وَقَدْ اَدَّيْنَا مَفْرُوْضَكَ فِيْهِ عَلَيْنَا،
so that when this month, which is Your month, elapses, we shall have carried out all the duties that You have made obligatory upon us to do.
یہاں تک کہ جب یہ مہینہ گذرے تو تیرے فرائض کو ادا کرچکے ہوں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَعِنَّا عَلٰى صِيَامِهِ،
O Allah, (please do) help us observe fasting in this month,
خدایا ہماری مدد فرما اس کے صیام پر
وَوَفِّقْنَا لِقِيَامِهِ،
guide us to practice the acts of worship (perfectly),
اور توفیق دے قیام کی
وَنَشِّطْنَا فِيْهِ لِلصَّلَاةِ،
grant us vigor to offer prayers,
اور نشاط عطا فرما اس کی نماز کے لیے
وَلَا تَحْجُبْنَا مِنَ الْقِرَاۤءَةِ،
do not preclude us from reciting (the Holy Qur'an),
اور مجھے قرأت سے محروم نہ رکھنا
وَسَهِّلْ لَنَا فِيْهِ اِيْتَاۤءَ الزَّكَاةِ،
and make easy for us to give alms.
اور ہمارے لیے زکوٰۃ کی ادائیگی کو آسان بنا دینا۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا تُسَلِّطْ عَلَيْنَا وَصَبًا وَلَا تَعَبًا
O Allah, (please) do not inflict us with fatigue, tiredness,
خدایا ہم پر رنج، درد
وَلَا سَقَمًا وَلَا عَطَبًا،
ailment, or injury.
اور ہلاکت کو مسلّط نہ کرنا۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ ارْزُقْنَا الْاِفْطَارَ مِنْ رِزْقِكَ الْحَلَالِ،
O Allah, (please do) grant us the food with which we break our fasting from Your sustenance that is legally gotten.
خدایا ہمیں رزقِ حلال سے افطار کی توفیق دینا
اَللّٰهُمَّ سَهِّلْ لَنَا فِيْهِ مَا قَسَمْتَهُ مِنْ رِزْقِكَ،
O Allah, (please do) make easy for us the gaining of Your sustenance that You decide for us,
اور جو رزق ہمارے لیے معیّن کیا ہے اُسے آسان کردینا۔
وَيَسِّرْ مَا قَدَّرْتَهُ مِنْ اَمْرِكَ،
facilitate for us gaining that which You decide for us,
اور جو امر مقدّر کیے ہیں انھیں سہل بنا دینا۔
وَاجْعَلْهُ حَلَالًا طَيِّبًا نَقِيًّا مِنَ الْاٰثَامِ
and make it pure, empty of sins,
رزق کو حلالِ پاکیزہ، برائیوں سے پاک
خَالِصًا مِنَ الْاٰصَارِ وَالْاَجْرَامِ،
and free from offenses and flaws.
اور جرائم سے خالص قرار دینا۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا تُطْعِمْنَا اِلَّا طَيِّبًا غَيْرَ خَبِيْثٍ وَلَا حَرَامٍ،
O Allah, (please) do not feed us except the good that is neither bad nor forbidden.
خدایا ہمیں سوائے پاکیزہ چیز کے نہ کوئی خبیث شئے کھلانا اور نہ کوئی حرام۔
وَاجْعَلْ رِزْقَكَ لَنَا حَلَالًا لَا يَشُوْبُهُ دَنَسٌ وَلَا اَسْقَامٌ
(Please do) let the sustenance that You decide for us be legal, carrying neither filth nor diseases.
ہمارے رزق کو ایسا حلال بنا دینا جس میں کسی گندگی اور بیماری کا شائبہ نہ ہو۔
يَا مَنْ عِلْمُهُ بِالسِّرِّ كَعِلْمِهِ بِالْاِعْلَانِ،
O He Who knows the secret in the same was as He knows the public!
اے وہ خدا جو باطن کو ظاہر کی طرح جانتا ہے۔
يَا مُتَفَضِّلًا عَلٰى عِبادِهِ بِالْاِحْسَانِ،
O He Who confers upon His servants with benevolence!
اے وہ جو اپنے بندوں پر احسان کرنے والا ہے۔
يَا مَنْ هُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ
O He Who has power over all things
اے وہ جو ہر شئے پر قادر ہے
وَبِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيْمٌ خَبِيْرٌ
and has acquaintance with all things!
اور ہر شئے کا جاننے والا ہے
اَلْهِمْنَا ذِكْرَكَ
(Please do) bestow upon us with (ceaseless) reference to You,
ہمیں اپنے ذکر کا الہام،
وَجَنِّبْنَا عُسْرَكَ،
keep us away Your difficulty,
تنگی سے نجات،
وَاَنِلْنَا يُسْرَكَ،
make us obtain Your ease,
آسانی کا عطیہ عطا فرمانا۔
وَاَهْدِنَا لِلرَّشَادِ،
guide us to the right path,
ہمیں نیک راستہ کی ہدایت
وَوَفِّقْنَا لِلسَّدَادِ،
lead us to righteousness,
اور سیدھی راہ کی توفیق عطا فرما۔
وَاعْصِمْنَا مِنَ الْبَلَايَا،
protect us against misfortunes,
تمام گناہوں اور
وَصُنَّا مِنَ الْاَوْزَارِ وَالْخَطَايَا،
and safeguard us against sins and faults.
خطاؤں سے محفوظ کردے۔
يَا مَنْ لَا يَغْفِرُ عَظِيْمَ الذُّنُوْبِ غَيْرُهُ،
O He save Whom none forgives the grave sins
اے وہ جس کے علاوہ کوئی عظیم گناہوں کو معاف نہیں کرسکتا ہے
وَلَا يَكْشِفُ السُّوٓءَ اِلَّا هُوَ،
and none can relieve from hardships!
اور کوئی برائیوں کو دور نہیں کرسکتا ہے۔
يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ،
O most Merciful of all those who show mercy
اے بہترین رحم کرنے والے
وَاَكْرَمَ الْاََكْرَمِيْنَ،
and most Generous of all those who show generosity!
اے بہترین کرم کرنے والے
صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ الطَّيِّبِيْنَ،
(Please do) send blessings to Muhammad and his Household the pure
حضرت محمدؐ اور ان کے اہل بیتِ اطہارؑ پر رحمت نازل فرما۔
وَاجْعَلْ صِيَامَنَا مَقْبُوْلًا،
and decide our fasting to be acceptable
ہمارے روزوں کو مقبول
وَبِالْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوٰى مَوْصُوْلًا،
and connected to piety and godliness.
اور نیکی و تقویٰ سے متّصل کردے۔
وَكَذٰلِكَ فَاجْعَلْ سَعْيَنَا مَشْكُوْرًا
Similarly, (please do) decide our efforts to be praiseworthy,
ہماری سعی کو مشکور،
وَقِيَامَنَا مَبْرُوْرًا،
our acts of worship admissible,
ہمارے قیام کو پسندیدہ،
وَقُرْاٰنَنَا مَرْفُوْعًا،
our reciting of the Qur'an raised (to the heavens),
ہماری قرائتِ قرآن کو اپنی بارگاہ تک آنے کے قابل
وَدُعَاۤءَنَا مَسْمُوْعًا،
and our supplications responded.
اور ہماری دعا کو قابلِ قبول بنادے۔
وَاهْدِنَا لِلْحُسْنٰى،
(Please do) guide us to the most excellent way,
ہمیں نیکی کی ہدایت عطا فرما
وَجَنِّبْنَا الْعُسْرٰى،
save us from difficulties,
اور تنگیوں سے محفوظ بنادے۔
وَيَسِّرْنَا لِلْيُسْرٰى،
facilitate for us the easy end,
آسانیوں کی توفیق دے
وَاَعِلْ لَنَا الدَّرَجَاتِ،
elevate our ranks,
اور ہمارے درجات کو بلند فرمادے۔
وَضَاعِفْ لَنَا الْحَسَنَاتِ،
double the rewards for our good deeds,
نیکیوں کو دو چند بنا دے
وَاقْبَلْ مِنَّا الصَّوْمَ وَالصَّلَاةَ،
accept our fasting and prayers,
اور ہمارے صوم و صلوٰۃ کو قبول فرمالے۔
واسْمَعْ مِنَّا الدَّعَوَاتِ،
react to our supplications,
ہماری دعاؤں کو سن لے
وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا الْخَطِيْئَاتِ،
forgive our sins,
اور ہماری خطاؤں کو معاف کردے۔
وَتَجَاوَزْ عَنَّا السَّيِّئَاتِ،
overlook our wrongdoings,
ہماری برائیوں سے درگزر فرما
وَاجْعَلْنَا مِنَ الْعَامِلِيْنَ الْفَاۤئِزِيْنَ،
make us of the successful worshippers,
اور ہمیں ان با عمل لوگوں میں قرار دے جو کامیاب ہوں۔
وَلَا تَجْعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَغْضُوْبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّآلِّيْنَ،
and do not include us with those who earn Your anger nor of those who go astray
ان میں نہیں جن پر غضب نازل ہو یا جو گمراہ ہوں
حَتّٰى يَنْقَضِيَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ عَنَّا
so that when the month of Ramadan elapses,
یہاں تک کہ ماہِ رمضان یوں گذرے کہ
وَقَدْ قَبِلْتَ فِيْهِ صِيَامَنَا وَقِيَامَنَا،
You shall have accepted our fasting and acts of worship,
ہمارے روزے اور ہماری نمازیں مقبول ہوں۔
وَزَكَّيْتَ فِيْهِ اَعْمَالَنَا،
blessed our deeds,
ہمارے اعمال پاکیزہ ہوں۔
وَغَفَرْتَ فِيْهِ ذُنُوْبَنَا،
forgiven our sins,
ہمارے گناہ بخشے ہوئے ہوں
وَاَجْزَلْتَ فِيْهِ مِنْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ نَصِيْبَنَا،
and doubled our shares from all good things.
اور ہمیں ہر خیر میں بہترین حصّہ عطا ہو۔
فَاِنَّكَ الْاِلـٰهُ الْمُجِيْبُ،
Verily, You are the God Who responds,
اے خدائے مجیب،
وَالرَّبُّ الْقَرِيْبُ،
the Lord Who is Nigh,
اے ربِّ قریب،
وَاَنْتَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُحِيْطٌ۔
and You encompass all things.
تو ہر شئے پر احاطہ رکھنے والا ہے۔
Twelfth: It is recommended to say the following supplicatory prayer that is reported from Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq(a.s.) as is mentioned in the book of al-Iqbal:
اَللّٰہُمَّ رَبَّ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ،
O Allah, the Lord of the month of Ramadan
اے خدا اے ماہِ رمضان کے مالک،
مُنَزِّلَ الْقُرْاٰنِ،
and the Revealer of the Qur'an.
قرآن کے نازل کرنے والے
هٰذَا شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ
This is the month of Ramadan
یہ وہ ماہِ رمضان ہے
الَّذِيْ اَنْزَلْتَ فِيْهِ الْقُرْاٰنَ،
in which You revealed the Qur'an
جس میں تو نے قرآن کو نازل کیا ہے
وَاَنْزَلْتَ فِيْهِ اٰيَاتٍ بَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الْهُدٰى وَالْفُرْقَانِ،
and revealed therein chapters of true guidance and distinction (between the right and the wrong).
اور اس میں ہدایت اور تمیز حق و باطل کی واضح نشانیاں نازل کی ہیں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ ارْزُقْنَا صِيَامَهُ،
O Allah, make us observe fast in its days
خدایا ہمیں روزہ کی توفیق عطا فرما
وَاَعِنَّا عَلٰى قِيَامِهِ،
and remain awake in its nights to pray.
اور نمازوں پر ہماری مدد فرما۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ سَلِّمْهُ لَنَا
O Allah, let it be peaceful for us,
خدایا اس کو ہمارے لیے
وَسَلِّمْنَا فِيْهِ
keep us in sound condition for it,
اور ہم کو اس کے لیے سالم قرار دے دے
وَتَسَلَّمْهُ مِنَّا فِيْ يُسْرٍ مِنْكَ وَمُعَافَاةٍ،
and receive it from us witheasiness and wellbeing.
اور سہولت و عافیت کے ساتھ اسے ہم سے قبول فرمالے۔
وَاجْعَلْ فِيْـمَا تَقْضِيْ وَتُقَدِّرُ
While taking decisions
اور جو تونے حتمی فیصلے کیے ہیں
مِنَ الْاَمْرِ الْمَحْتُوْمِ
from among Your inevitable decisions
اور جو تیرے محکم امور
وَفِيْـمَا تَفْرُقُ مِنَ الْاَمْرِ الْحَكِيْمِ
and from among that which You decide from the wise affairs
منتشر ہوتے ہیں
فِيْ لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ
at the Destiny Night
شبِ قدر میں
مِنَ الْقَضَاۤءِ الَّذِيْ لَا يُرَدُّ وَلَا يُبَدَّلُ،
from the act that is neither rejected nor altered,
اور جو بدلے نہیں جاسکتے۔
اَنْ تَكْتُبَنِيْ مِنْ حُجَّاجِ بَيْتِكَ الْحَرَامِ
(please) write my name in the list of those pilgrims to Your Sacred House
ان میں یہ بھی قرار دے دے کہ ہمیں اپنے گھر کے حاجیوں میں لکھ لے
الْمَبْرُوْرِ حَجُّهُمُ،
whose pilgrimage receives Your approval,
جن کا حج قبول ہو
الْمَشْكُوْرِ سَعْيُهُمُ،
whose efforts are appreciated,
اور جن کی سعی مشکور ہو
الْمَغْفُوْرِ ذُنُوْبُهُمُ،
whose sins are forgiven,
جن کے گناہ معاف ہوں
الْمُكَفَّرِ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُهُمْ،
and whose wrongdoings are overlooked.
اور جن کی خطائیں بخش دی جائیں
وَاجْعَلْ فِيْـمَا تَقْضِيْ وَتُقَدِّرُ
While making decisions and rendering possible things and events,
اور اپنی قضا و قدر میں ہمارے لیے
اَنْ تُطِيْلَ فِيْ عُمْرِيْ
(please) grant me long lifetime
طولِ عمر
وَتُوَسِّعَ عَليَّ مِنَ الرِّزْقِ الْحَلَالِ۔
and expand my sustenance, making it from legal sources only.
اور وسعتِ رزقِ حلال بھی قرار دے دے۔
Thirteenth: It is recommended to say the supplicatory prayer No. 44 of al-Sahifah al-Kamilah al-Sajjadiyyah, which begins with the following statement:
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ هَدَانَا لِحَمْدِهِ۔۔۔
Praise belongs to Allah who guided us to His praise...
تمام تعریف اس اللہ کے لیے ہے جس نے اپنی حمد ۔۔۔۔۔
Fourteenth: It is recommended to say the lengthy supplicatory prayer that is mentioned by Sayyid Ibn Tawus in Iqbal al-A’mal and beings with the following statement:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّ هٰذَا شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ۔۔۔
O Allah, this month of Ramadan...
خدایا یہ وہ ماہِ رمضان ہے ۔۔۔۔
Fifteenth: It is recommended to say the following:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّهُ قَدْ دَخَلَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ
O Allah, the month of Ramadan has begun.
خدایا یہ ماہِ رمضان آگیا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ رَبَّ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ،
O Allah, the Lord of the month of Ramadan
اے ماہِ رمضان کے مالک
الَّذِيْ اَنْزَلْتَ فِيْهِ الْقُرْاٰنَ،
in which You have revealed the Qur'an
جس میں تو نے قرآن نازل کیا ہے
وَجَعَلْتَهُ بَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الْهُدٰى وَالْفُرْقَانِ،
making it guidance to people and clear proofs of the guidance and the distinction.
اور اسے ہدایت اور تفرقۂ حق و باطل کی نشانی قرار دیا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَبَارِكْ لَنَا فِيْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ،
So, O Allah, please bless us in the month of Ramadan,
خدایا ہمیں ماہِ رمضان کی برکت عنایت فرما
وَاَعِنَّا عَلٰى صِيَامِهِ وَصَلَوَاتِهِ
help us observe fasting and offer prayers in it,
اور اس کے صلوٰۃ و صیام میں ہماری مدد فرما
وَتَقَبَّلْهُ مِنَّا۔
and accept from us.
اور اسے ہم سے قبول فرما لے۔
According to a Hadith, the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) used to say this supplicatory prayer at the beginning of Ramadan.
Sixteenth: The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) is also reported to have said the following supplicatory prayer at the first night of Ramadan:
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ اَكْرَمَنَا بِكَ
All praise be to Allah Who has honored us with you,
ساری حمد اس اللہ کے لیے ہے جس نے اے ماہِ مبارک،
اَيُّهَا الشَّهْرُ الْمُبَارَكُ،
O blessed month.
تیرے ذریعہ ہم کو صاحبِ کرامت بنایا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَقَوِّنَا عَلٰى صِيَامِنَا وَقِيَامِنَا،
O Allah, (please do) grant us strength to observe fasting and practice acts of worship in this month,
اے پروردگار ہمیں اس کے صیام و قیام کی طاقت دینا،
وَثَبِّتْ اَقْدَامَنَا
make our steps firm,
ثباتِ قدم دینا
وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِيْنَ،
and assist us against the unbelieving people.
اور کافروں کے مقابلہ میں ہماری مدد فرما۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْتَ الْوَاحِدُ فَلَا وَلَدَ لَكَ،
O Allah, You are surely the One; therefore, You have not son.
خدایا تو واحد ہے تیرا کوئی فرزند نہیں ہے۔
وَاَنْتَ الصَّمَدُ فَلَا شِبْهَ لَكَ،
You are the eternally Besought of all; therefore, nothing is like You.
تو بے نیاز ہے۔ تیرا کوئی شریک نہیں ہے۔
وَاَنْتَ الْعَزِيْزُ فَلَا يُعِزُّكَ شَيْءٌ،
You are the Almighty; therefore, nothing can overcome You.
تو عزیز ہے کسی کے عزّت دینے کا محتاج نہیں ہے۔
وَاَنْتَ الْغَنِيُّ وَاَنَا الْفَقِيْرُ،
You are the Self-sufficient while I am poor.
تو غنی ہے اور میں فقیر ہوں۔
وَاَنْتَ الْمَوْلٰى وَاَنَا الْعَبْدُ،
You are the Master while I am (Your) slave.
تو مولا ہے اور میں بندہ ہوں۔
وَاَنْتَ الْغُفُوْرُ وَاَنَا الْمُذْنِبُ،
You are the All-forgiving while I am sinful.
تو غفور ہے اور میں گنہگار ہوں۔
وَاَنْتَ الرَّحِيْمُ وَاَنَا الْمُخْطِئُ،
You are the All-merciful while I am mistaken.
تو رحیم ہے اور میں خطاکار ہوں۔
وَاَنْتَ الْخَالِقُ وَاَنَا الْمَخْلُوْقُ،
You are the Creator while I am (Your) creature.
تو خالق ہے اور میں مخلوق ہوں۔
وَاَنْتَ الْحَيُّ وَاَنَا الْمَيِّتُ،
You are the Ever-living while I am mortal.
تو زندہ ہے اور میں مُردہ ہوں۔
اَسْاَلُكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ
I thus beseech You in the name of Your mercy
میرا سوال تیری رحمت سے یہ ہے
اَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِيْ وَتَرْحَمَنِيْ وَتَجَاوَزَ عَنِّي
to forgive me, have mercy upon me, and excuse my offenses.
کہ مجھے معاف کردے، مجھ پر رحم کر اور مجھ سے درگذر فرما
اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ۔
You have power over all things.
کہ تو ہر شئے پر قادر ہے۔
Seventeenth: As has been previously mentioned in the book, it is recommended to say the supplicatory prayer known as Dua al-Jawshan al-Kabir at the first night of Ramadan.
Eighteenth: It is recommended to say the supplicatory prayer known as Dua al-Hajj, which has been previously mentioned in this book.
Nineteenth: It is highly advisable to recite the Holy Qur’an very frequently at the first hours of Ramadan. In this respect, it has been narrated that Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq(a.s.) used to say the following supplicatory prayer before he would start reciting the Holy Qur’an:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّي اَشْهَدُ اَنَّ هٰذَا كِتَابُكَ الْمُنْزَلُ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ
O Allah, I testify that this is the Book revealed by You
خدایا میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ یہ تیری کتاب ہے۔
عَلٰى رَسُوْلِكَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِاللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ واٰلِهِ،
on Your Messenger Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah, blessings of Allah be on him and on his Household,
یہ تیری طرف سے تیرے رسول محمد بن عبداللہ صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ پر نازل ہوئی ہے۔
وَكَلَامُكَ النَّاطِقُ عَلٰى لِسَانِ نَبِيِّكَ،
(these are) Your Words, Your Prophet gave tongue to,
یہ تیرا کلام ہے جو تیرے نبی کی زبان سے جاری ہوا ہے
جَعَلْتَهُ هَادِيًا مِنْكَ اِلٰى خَلْقِكَ،
(whom) You appointed as guide for the people,
جسے تو نے مخلوقات کا ہادی بنایا ہے
وَحَبْلًا مُتَّصِلًا فِيْـمَا بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ عِبَادِكَ،
and a connected link between You and Your servants.
اور جسے اپنے اور بندوں کے درمیان مسلسل ریسمانِ ہدایت قرار دیا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّي نَشَرْتُ عَهْدَكَ وَكِتابَكَ،
O Allah, I am opening Your testament and Your Book.
خدایا میں نے تیرے عہد اور تیری کتاب کو کھول لیا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَاجْعَلْ نَظَرِيْ فِيْهِ عِبَادَةً،
O Allah, decide my looking in it to be a kind of worship,
لہٰذا خدایا اب میری نظر کو عبادت ،
وَقِرَاۤءَتِي فِيْهِ فِكْرًا،
my reciting in it to be ponderation,
میری قرأت کو فکر
وَفِكْرِيْ فِيْهِ اعْتِبَارًا،
and my ponderation over it to be learning lessons from it.
اور میری فکر کو وسیلۂ عبرت بنادے۔
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ مِمَّنْ اِتَّعَظَ بِبَيَانِ مَوَاعِظِكَ فِيْهِ،
Include me with those who take lessons from the elucidation of Your preaches therein
مجھے ان لوگوں میں قرار دے دے جو تیرے مواعظ سے نصیحت حاصل کرتے ہیں
وَاجْتَنَبَ مَعَاصِيْكَ،
and those who accordingly avoid doing acts of disobedience to You.
اور معصیتوں سے پرہیز کرتے ہیں،
وَلَا تَطْبَعْ عِنْدَ قِرَاۤءَتِيْ عَلٰى سَمْعِيْ،
Do not seal on my hearing while I am reciting it,
وقتِ قرائت میری سماعت پر مُہر نہ لگا دینا
وَلَا تَجْعَلْ عَلٰى بَصَرِيْ غِشَاوَةً،
do not place covering on my sight,
اور میری آنکھوں پر پردہ نہ ڈال دینا۔
وَلَا تَجْعَلْ قِرَاۤءَتِي قِرَاۤءَةً لَا تَدَبُّرَ فِيْهَا،
and do not decide my reciting to be thoughtless;
میری قرائت بلا فکر نہ ہونے پائے
بَلِ اجْعَلْنِيْ اَتَدَبَّرُ اٰيَاتِهِ وَاَحْكَامَهُ،
rather, (please) make me ponder over its verses and laws,
بلکہ میں اس کے آیات و احکام میں فکر کروں
اٰخِذًا بِشَرَايِعِ دِيْنِكَ،
learning the laws of my religion.
اس کے احکام و قوانین کو اختیار کروں۔
وَلَا تَجْعَلْ نَظَرِيْ فِيْهِ غَفْلَةً،
Do not decide my looking in it to be inadvertence,
میری نگاہ نگاہِ غفلت نہ ہو
وَلَا قِرَاۤءَتِيْ هَذَرًا،
and do not allow my reciting to be worthless.
اور میری قرائت بے فائدہ نہ ہو
اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الرَّؤُوْفُ الرَّحِيْمُ۔
You are verily the Allkind, the All-merciful.
کہ تو بہرحال مہربان اور رحیم ہے۔
When he finished reciting the Holy Qur’an, Imam al-Sadiq(a.s.) used to say the following supplicatory prayer:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّي قَدْ قَرَأْتُ مَا قَضَيْتَ مِنْ كِتَابِكَ الَّذِيْ اَنْزَلْتَهُ عَلٰى نَبِيِّكَ الصَّادِقِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهِ، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ رَبَّنَا، اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِيْ مِمَّنْ يُحِلُّ حَلَالَهُ، وَيُحَرِّمُ حَرَامَهُ، وَيُؤْمِنُ بِمُحْكَمِهِ وَمُتَشَابِهِهِ، وَاجْعَلْهُ لِيْ اُنْسًا فِيْ قَبْرِيْ، وَاُنْسًا فِيْ حَشْرِيْ، وَاجْعَلْنِيْ مِمَّنْ تُرْقِيْهِ بِكُلِّ اٰيَةٍ قَرَاهَا دَرَجَةً فِيْ اَعْلَا عِلِّيِّيْنَ، اٰمِيْنَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ۔
O Allah, I have recited that which You command in Your Book
خدایا میں نے ان فیصلوں کو پڑھا ہے جن کو تو نے اس کتاب میں
الَّذِيْ اَنْزَلْتَهُ عَلٰى نَبِيِّكَ الصَّادِقِ
that You revealed to Your truthful Prophet,
نازل کیا ہے اپنے نبی صادق
صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهِ،
Peace of Allah be upon him and his Household.
صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ پر
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ رَبَّنَا،
So, all praise be to You, our Lord.
لہٰذا تیرے لیے حمد ہے
اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِيْ مِمَّنْ يُحِلُّ حَلَالَهُ،
O Allah, (please do) make me of those who do only what is deemed legal therein,
پروردگار مجھے ان لوگوں میں قرار دے دے جو اس کے حلال کو حلال
وَيُحَرِّمُ حَرَامَهُ،
avoid that which is deemed unlawful therein,
اور حرام کو حرام سمجھیں۔
وَيُؤْمِنُ بِمُحْكَمِهِ وَمُتَشَابِهِهِ،
and believe in its decisive and allegorical verses.
اس کے محکم و متشابہ سب پر ایمان لے آئیں
وَاجْعَلْهُ لِيْ اُنْسًا فِيْ قَبْرِيْ،
(Please) decide it to be entertainment for me in my grave
اور اُسے میرے لیے قبر میں انس
وَاُنْسًا فِيْ حَشْرِيْ،
and entertainment when I will be resurrected.
اور حشر میں وسیلۂ انس بنا دے
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ مِمَّنْ تُرْقِيْهِ بِكُلِّ اٰيَةٍ قَرَاهَا دَرَجَةً فِيْ اَعْلَا عِلِّيِّيْنَ،
(Please) include me with those whom You raise a rank to the most elevated position witheach verse that they recite.
اور مجھے ان لوگوں میں قرار دے دے جن کو تو ہر آیت کے عوض اعلیٰ علیّین میں درجہ عنایت فرماتا ہے۔
اٰمِيْنَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ۔
Respond to me, O Lord of the worlds!
آمین ، ربّ العالمین۔
