اعمال روز سوم شعبان
About this blessed day, Shaykh al-Tusi says in Misbah al-Mutahajjid: Imam al-Husayn ibn Ali(a.s.) was born on the third of Sha’ban. Abu’l-Qasim ibn ‘Ala’ al-HaMadani, the representative of Imam al-Hasan al-’Askari(a.s.), received a document telling that our master, Imam al-Husayn ibn Ali(a.s.), was born on the third of Sha’ban; therefore, you should observe fasting on this day and say the following supplicatory prayer:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْۤ اَسْاَلُكَ بِحَقِّ الْمَوْلُوْدِ فِيْ هٰذَا الْيَوْمِ
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of the one born on this day,
خدایا میں سوال کرتا ہوں اس کے واسطہ سے جو آج کی تاریخ میں پیدا ہوا ہے
الْمَوْعُوْدِ بِشَهَادَتِهِ قَبْلَ اسْتِهْلَالِهِ وَ وِلَادَتِهِ
the promised with martyrdom before the beginning of his lifetime and before his birth,
اور جس کی ولادت سے پہلے اس کی شہادت کا وعدہ لیا ہے
بَكَتْهُ السَّمَاۤءُ وَ مَنْ فِيْهَا
the heavens and all their inhabitants wept for him;
اس پر گریہ کیا ہے آسمان اور اہلِ آسمان نے،
وَ الْاَرْضُ وَ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا
and so did the earth and those living one it
زمین اور اہلِ زمین نے
وَ لَمَّا يَطَأْ لَابَتَيْهَا
before his feet stepped on it,
حالانکہ ابھی اس نے زمین پر قدم بھی نہیں رکھے تھے
قَتِيْلِ الْعَبْرَةِ
the mourned slain one,
وہ گشتہ گریہ ہے
وَ سَيِّدِ الْاُسْرَةِ
the master of the Family (of Prophethood),
اور سارے خاندان کا سردار ہے
الْمَمْدُوْدِ بِالنُّصْرَةِ يَوْمَ الْكَرَّةِ
the one who shall be backed with victory on the Day of Return,
اور رجعت میں اس کی نصرت کا وعدہ کیا گیا ہے
الْمُعَوَّضِ مِنْ قَتْلِهِ اَنَّ الْاَئِمَّةَ مِنْ نَسْلِهِ
the one whom has been awarded the favor of the Imams’ being from his offspring as recompense of his being slain,
اور اس کی شہادت کا انعام یہ ہے کہ امامت اس کی نسل میں ہوگی
وَ الشِّفَاۤءَ فِيْ تُرْبَتِهِ
the one awarded the favor of the soil of his grave carrying cure,
اور اس کی خاک میں شفا ہوگی
وَ الْفَوْزَ مَعَهُ فِيْۤ اَوْبَتِهِ
the one awarded the favor that he will be triumphing when he will be returned
اور اس کے ساتھ واپسی میں کامیابی ہوگی۔
وَ الْاَوْصِيَاۤءَ مِنْ عِتْرَتِهِ
and the Prophet’s Successors from his offspring will be returned
اور اوصیاء اس کی عترت میں ہوں گے
بَعْدَ قَاۤئِمِهِمْ وَ غَيْبَتِهِ
after the advent of their Rising Imam and after his occultation
حضرت قائم اور ان کی غیبت کے بعد
حَتّٰى يُدْرِكُوْا الْاَوْتَارَ
so that they shall take revenge,
یہاں تک کہ اس کے خونِ ناحق
وَ يَثْاَرُوْا الثَّارَ
retaliate,
کا بدلہ لے لیں
وَ يَرْضُوْا الْجَبَّارَ
please the Omnipotent Lord,
اور خدا کو راضی کرلیں
وَ يَكُوْنُوْا خَيْرَ اَنْصَارٍ
and be the best supporters.
اور اس کے بہترین انصار میں شمار ہوں
صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مَعَ اخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَ النَّهَارِ
May Allah’s blessings be perpetually upon them whenever night and day succeed each other.
اللہ کی رحمت ان کے شاملِ حال رہے روز و شب کی آمد و رفت کے ساتھ۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَبِحَقِّهِمْ اِلَيْكَ اَتَوَسَّلُ
O Allah, I thus beg You in the name of them
خدایا میں انھیں کے حق کو وسیلہ قرار دیتا ہوں
وَ اَسْاَلُ سُؤَالَ مُقْتَرِفٍ مُعْتَرِفٍ
and implore You with the imploration of a sinful one who confesses of his sin,
اور تجھ سے اس گنہگار کی طرح سوال کرتا ہوں
مُسِيْۤءٍ اِلٰى نَفْسِهِ
and who has done evil to himself
جس نے اپنے نفس پر زیادتی کی ہے
مِمَّا فَرَّطَ فِيْ يَوْمِهِ وَ اَمْسِهِ
due to his violations— the past and the present.
اس کوتاہی کی بناپر جو کل بھی ہوئی ہے اور آج بھی ہے۔
يَسْاَلُكَ الْعِصْمَةَ اِلٰى مَحَلِّ رَمْسِهِ،
He thus beseeches You for Your protection up to the place of his grave.
اب زندگی بھر کے لیے تیری حفاظت کا طلبگار ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عِتْرَتِهِ
O Allah, (please) send blessings to Muhammad and his Offspring,
خدایا محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر رحمت نازل فرما
وَ احْشُرْنَا فِيْ زُمْرَتِهِ
include us with his group (on the Resurrection Day),
اور ہمیں ان کے زمرے میں محشور فرما
وَ بَوِّئْنَا مَعَهُ دَارَ الْكَرَامَةِ
and allow us to dwell in the House of Honor with him
اور ان کے ساتھ جگہ دے دے دار الکرامت
وَ مَحَلَّ الْاِقَامَةِ
and in the abode of residence.
اور محلِ اقامت میں
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَ كَمَا اَكْرَمْتَنَا بِمَعْرِفَتِهِ فَاَكْرِمْنَا بِزُلْفَتِهِ
O Allah, as You have conferred upon us with the honor of our recognition of him, so (please) confer upon us with the honor of being near to him,
خدایا جس طرح تو نے ان کی معرفت کا شرف عنایت کیا ہے
وَ ارْزُقْنَا مُرَافَقَتَهُ وَ سَابِقَتَهُ
bestow upon us with the bliss of accompanying him _ and enjoying a close rank to him,
اور ان کی قربت بھی عنایت فرما دے اور ان کی رقابت نصیب فرما
وَ اجْعَلْنَا مِمَّنْ يُسَلِّمُ لِاَمْرِهِ
and include us with those who submit to him totally
اور ہمیں ان لوگوں میں قرار دے جو ان کے امر کے مطیع ہوں
وَ يُكْثِرُ الصَّلَاةَ عَلَيْهِ عِنْدَ ذِكْرِهِ
and those who invoke Your blessings upon him whenever they mention him,
اور ان کے ذکر پر مسلسل صلوات پڑھتے ہوں ان پر
وَ عَلٰى جَمِيْعِ اَوْصِيَاۤئِهِ وَ اَهْلِ اَصْفِيَاۤئِهِ
and upon all his Successors and Selected Ones,
اور ان کے تمام اوصیاء اور منتخب افراد پر
الْمَمْدُوْدِيْنَ مِنْكَ بِالْعَدَدِ الْاِثْنٰي عَشَرَ
whom are defined by You as twelve persons,
جن کی تیری طرف سے مدد کی گئی ہے جو بارہ افراد ہیں
النُّجُوْمِ الزُّهَرِ
being the luminous stars,
چمکتے ہوئے ستاروں کے مانند
وَ الْحُجَجِ عَلٰى جَمِيْعِ الْبَشَرِ
and the Arguments against all humankind.
اور تمام بندوں پر اللہ کی حجّت۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَ هَبْ لَنَا فِيْ هٰذَا الْيَوْمِ خَيْرَ مَوْهِبَةٍ
O Allah, and (please) grant us on this day the best of grants,
خدایا آج کے دن ہمیں بہترین عطیہ عطا فرما
وَ اَنْجِحْ لَنَا فِيْهِ كُلَّ طَلِبَةٍ
make all our prayers on this day responded,
اور ہمارے تمام مطالبات کو پورا فرمادے
كَمَا وَهَبْتَ الْحُسَيْنَ لِمُحَمَّدٍ جَدِّهِ
just as You gifted al-Husayn to Muhammad, his grandfather,
جس طرح تو نے محمدؐ کو حسینؑ عنایت فرمایا ہے
وَ عَاذَ فُطْرُسُ بِمَهْدِهِ
just as the angel Futrus sought refuge with his (i.e. al-Husayn) cradle,
اور جس طرح حسینؑ کے گہوارے کے طفیل میں فطرس کو پناہ دی ہے۔
فَنَحْنُ عَاۤئِذُوْنَ بِقَبْرِهِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ
we are thus seeking refuge with his tomb after him (i.e. his martyrdom),
ہم ان کی قبر کی پناہ میں
نَشْهَدُ تُرْبَتَهُ وَ نَنْتَظِرُ اَوْبَتَهُ
as we are witnessing the soil of him and expecting his return.
ان کی تربت پر حاضری دیتے ہیں اور ان کی رجعت کا انتظار کررہے ہیں۔
اٰمِيْنَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ۔
Respond to us, O Lord of the worlds.
آمین اے ربّ العالمین۔
After that, you may say Dua al-Husayn (Supplicatory prayer of Imam al-Husayn), which is the last supplicatory prayer he said when his enemies surrounded him in large numbers on the Day of ‘Ashura (the tenth of Muharram):
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْتَ مُتَعَالِيْ الْمَكَانِ
O Allah, You are verily the Elevated in position,
خدایا تیری منزل بلند،
عَظِيْمُ الْجَبَرُوْتِ
the Magnificent in omnipotence,
تیری قدرت عظیم،
شَدِيْدُ الْمِحَالِ
the Mighty in prowess,
زبردست طاقت والا،
غَنِيٌّ عَنِ الْخَلَایِقِ
the Self-Sufficient from the creatures,
تو مخلوقات سے بے نیاز،
عَرِيْضُ الْكِبْرِيَاۤءِ
the Ample in pride,
تیری کبریائی وسیع،
قَادِرٌ عَلٰى مَا تَشَاۤءُ
the Powerful over all that which You want,
تو ہر شئی پر قادر،
قَرِيْبُ الرَّحْمَةِ
the Close in mercy,
تیری رحمت قریب،
صَادِقُ الْوَعْدِ
the Truthful in promise,
تیرا وعدہ سچّا،
سَابِغُ النِّعْمَةِ
the Opulent in favors,
تیری نعمت کامل
حَسَنُ الْبَلَاۤءِ
the Sympathetic in ordeals,
بہترین آزمائش کرنے والا،
قَرِيْبٌ اِذَا دُعِيْتَ
the Nigh when Your are prayed,
تجھے پکارا جاتا ہے تو تو قریب ہے۔
مُحِيْطٌ بِمَا خَلَقْتَ
the All-encompassing of all that which You have created,
مخلوقات پر محیط ہے۔
قَابِلُ التَّوْبَةِ لِمَنْ تَابَ اِلَيْكَ
the Accepter of the repentance of him who repents to You,
توبہ کرنے والوں کی توبہ قبول کرتا ہے۔
قَادِرٌ عَلٰى مَاۤ اَرَدْتَ
the Powerful to do whatever You want,
جو چاہے وہ کرسکتا ہے۔
وَ مُدْرِكٌ مَا طَلَبْتَ
the Taker in all that which You decide,
جسے چاہے پکڑ سکتا ہے۔
وَ شَكُوْرٌ اِذَا شُكِرْتَ
the Thankful for those who thank You,
شکریہ ادا کیا جائے تو قبول کرتا ہے۔
وَ ذَكُوْرٌ اِذَا ذُكِرْتَ
and the Rememberer of those who mention You.
یاد کیا جائے تو یاد کرتا ہے۔
اَدْعُوْكَ مُحْتَاجًا
I pray You for I need You,
خدایا میں تجھ سے بحالتِ احتیاج دعا کرتا ہوں
وَ اَرْغَبُ اِلَيْكَ فَقِيْرًا
I desire for You for I am in want of You,
اور فقیر بن کر تیری بارگاہ میں آیا ہوں۔
وَ اَفْزَعُ اِلَيْكَ خَاۤئِفًا
I resort to You for I am terrified,
خوف زدہ ہوکر تیری طرف متوجہ ہوں۔
وَ اَبْكِيْۤ اِلَيْكَ مَكْرُوْبًا
I weep before You for I am distressed,
درد و رنج سے رورہا ہوں۔
وَ اَسْتَعِيْنُ بِكَ ضَعِيْفًا
I seek Your aid for I am weak,
کمزوری میں تیری مدد چاہتا ہوں
وَ اَتَوَكَّلُ عَلَيْكَ كَافِيًا
and I depend upon You for I trust in none save You.
اور کفایت کے لیے تجھ ہی پر بھروسہ کرتا ہوں۔
اُحْكُمْ بَيْنَنَا وَ بَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا [بِالْحَقِ]
(Please do) decide between our people and us with the truth,
میرے اور اس قوم کے درمیان فیصلہ کردے
فَاِنَّهُمْ غَرُّوْنَا وَ خَدَعُوْنَا
for they have deceived us, cheated us,
جنھوں نے مجھے دھوکا دیا ہے، فریب سے کام لیا ہے۔
وَ خَذَلُوْنَا وَ غَدَرُوْا بِنَا وَ قَتَلُوْنَا
disappointed us, betrayed us, and killed us.
مجھے چھوڑدیا ہے میرے ساتھ غدّاری کی اور اب مجھے قتل کررہے ہیں
وَ نَحْنُ عِتْرَةُ نَبِيِّكَ
We are the progeny of Your Prophet
حالانکہ ہم تیرے نبی کی عترتؑ ہیں
وَ وَلَدُ حَبِيْبِكَ
and the sons of Your beloved one;
اور فرزند ہیں تیرے حبیب
مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ
namely, Muhammad the son of 'Abdullah,
حضرت محمدؐ بن عبداللہ کے
الَّذِيْ اصْطَفَيْتَهُ بِالرِّسَالَةِ
whom You have chosen for the Divine Mission
جن کو تو نے رسالت کے لیے منتخب کیا ہے
وَ ائْتَمَنْتَهُ عَلٰى وَحْيِكَ
and for keeping Your Revelation.
اور وحی کا امین بنایا ہے۔
فَاجْعَلْ لَنَا مِنْ اَمْرِنَا فَرَجًا وَ مَخْرَجًا
So, (please) prepare a way out and a relief for us,
خدایا اب تو ہی ہمیں کشائش و وسعت عنایت فرما
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَاۤ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ۔
out of Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
اپنی رحمت خاص سے یا ارحم الراحمین
Ibn ‘Ayyash has reported al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn Sufyan al-Bazufi as saying that he heard Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq(a.s.) saying this supplicatory prayer on the third of Sha’ban, the birthday of Imam al-Husayn (a.s.).
