عمل امّ داؤد
Fifth: The most important rite on this day is to say the supplicatory prayer known as Dua Ummi-Dawud. This great supplicatory prayer brings about innumerable rewards some of which are that it grants the requests, relieves from anguishes, and saves from the persecutions of the wrongdoers.
In the word of Shaykh al-Tusi, in his book of Misbah al-Mutahajjid, one who intend to do this rite is required to observe fasting on the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth days of Rajab. At the midday (zohr) of the fifteenth, one should bathe himself. After midday (zohr), one should offer the obligatory Zohr and Asr Prayers so excellently that one should do all the parts perfectly. It is advisable to be in a vacant place so as not to be engaged with anything and not to be addressed by anyone. When the (obligatory) prayer is accomplished, one should face the kiblah direction and recite Surah al-Faatehah one hundred times, Surah al-Tawheed one hundred times, and Ayah al-Kursi ten times. Afterward, Surahs al-An’am (No. 6), al-Isra’ (also called Bani-Isra’il; No. 17), al-Kahf (No. 18), Luqman (No. 31), Yasin (No. 36), al-Saaffaat (No. 37), Fussilat / Ha Mim as-Sajdah (No. 41), al-Shura (No. 42), al-Dukhan (No. 44), al-Fath (No. 48), al-Waqiah (No. 56)al-Mulk (No. 67), al-Qalam (No. 68), al-Inshiqaq (No. 84) and all Surahs following up to the end of the Holy Qur’an should be recited.
After reciting all these Surahs, one may, still facing the kiblah, say the following supplicatory prayer:
صَدَقَ اللّٰهُ الْعَظِيْمُ
True are the words of Allah, the All-great.
سچّا ہے وہ خدائے بزرگ
الَّذِيْ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ
There is no god save Him,
جس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے۔
الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّوْمُ
the Ever-living, the Eternal,
وہ زندہ اور پائندہ ہے۔
ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَ الْاِكْرَامِ
The Lord of Majesty and Honor,
صاحبِ جلالت و بزرگی ہے
الرَّحْمٰنُ الرَّحِيْمُ
the All-beneficent, the All-merciful,
رحمٰن و رحیم ہے۔
الْحَلِيْمُ الْكَرِيْمُ
the Forbearing, the All-generous.
بردبار اور حلیم ہے
الَّذِيْ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ
There is nothing like Him,
اس کا مثل کوئی چیز نہیں ہے۔
وَ هُوَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ
and He is the Allhearing, the Allknowing,
وہ سننے والا، جاننے والا،
الْبَصِيْرُ الْخَبِيْرُ
the All-seeing, the All-aware.
واقف اور بصیر و خبیر ہے۔
شَهِدَ اللّٰهُ اَنَّهُ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ
Allah bears witness that there is no god but He,
اللہ خود گواہ ہے کہ اس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے
وَ الْمَلَاۤئِكَةُ وَ اُوْلُوا الْعِلْمِ
and (so do) the angels and those possessed of knowledge,
اور تمام ملائکہ اور صاحبانِ علم بھی گواہ ہیں کہ
قَاۤئِمًا بِالْقِسْطِ
maintaining His creation with justice.
وہ عدل کے ساتھ قائم ہے۔
لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ
There is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise.
کوئی خدا نہیں ہے سوائے اس کے جو غالب و حکیم ہے۔
وَ بَلَّغَتْ رُسُلُهُ الْكِرَامُ
His noble Messengers have conveyed the mission
اس کے مکرّم رسولوں نے امر کو پہنچادیا ہے
وَ اَنَا عَلٰى ذَالِكَ مِنَ الشَّاهِدِيْنَ
and I am of those who bear witness to that.
اور میں بھی اس کے گواہوں میں ہوں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ
O Allah, to You belongs praise,
خدایا تیرے ہی لیے حمد ہے
وَ لَكَ الْمَجْدُ
to You belongs glory,
اور تیرے لیے بزرگی ہے
وَ لَكَ الْعِزُّ
to You belongs might,
اور تیرے ہی لیے عزّت ہے
وَ لَكَ الْفَخْرُ
to You belongs pride,
اور تیرے ہی لیے فخر ہے،
وَ لَكَ الْقَهْرُ
to You belongs supreme power,
تیرے ہی لیے قہر
وَ لَكَ النِّعْمَةُ
to You belong bounties,
اور تیرے ہی لیے نعمت
وَ لَكَ الْعَظَمَةُ
to You belongs greatness,
اور تیرے ہی لیے عظمت
وَ لَكَ الرَّحْمَةُ
to You belongs mercy,
اور تیرے ہی لیے رحمت
وَ لَكَ الْمَهَابَةُ
to You belongs reverence,
اور تیرے ہی لیے ہیبت
وَ لَكَ السُّلْطَانُ
to You belongs sovereignty,
اور تیرے ہی لیے بادشاہت
وَ لَكَ الْبَهَاءُ
to You belongs beauty,
اور تیرے ہی لیے جلالت
وَ لَكَ الْاِمْتِنَانُ
to You belongs benevolence,
اور تیرے ہی لیے بخشش
وَ لَكَ التَّسْبِيْحُ
to You belongs glorification,
اور تیرے ہی لیے تسبیح
وَ لَكَ التَّقْدِيْسُ
to You belongs holiness,
اور تیرے ہی لیے تقدیس
وَ لَكَ التَّهْلِيْلُ
to You belongs the confession of Your being the One and Only God,
اور تیرے ہی لیے تہلیل
وَ لَكَ التَّكْبِيْرُ
to You belongs the confession of Your being the most Great Lord,
اور تیرے ہی لیے تکبیر ہے
وَ لَكَ مَا يُرَىٰ
to You belongs that which is seen,
اور تیرے ہی لیے ظاہر
وَ لَكَ مَا لَا يُرَىٰ
to You belongs that which is not seen,
اور پوشیدہ سب کچھ ہے
وَ لَكَ مَا فَوْقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ الْعُلَىٰ،
to You belongs that which is far above the high heavens,
اور تیرے ہی لیے وہ سب ہے جو بلند آسمانوں پر ہے
وَ لَكَ مَا تَحْتَ الثَّرَىٰ
to You belongs that which is deep down under the abyss,
اور زمین کے نیچے ہے
وَ لَكَ الْاَرَضُوْنَ السُّفْلٰى
to You belong the worlds below the heavens,
اور تیرے لیے نچلی زمینیں ہیں
وَ لَكَ الْآخِرَةُ وَ الْأُوْلٰى
to You belong the end and the beginning,
اور تیرے لیے دنیا و آخرت ہے
وَ لَكَ مَا تَرْضَىٰ بِهِ مِنَ الثَّنَاءِ وَ الْحَمْدِ
and to You is all thanks, all praise,
اور تیرے ہی لیے وہ حمد و ثنا
وَ الشُّكْرِ وَ النَّعْمَاءِ
all gratitude, and all bliss as much as it pleases You.
اور شکر اور نعمت ہے جس کو تو پسند کرتا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى جَبْرَئِيْلَ
O Allah, (please do) send blessings to (Archangel) Gabriel,
خدایا درود نازل فرما جبرئیل پر
اَمِيْنِكَ عَلٰى وَحْيِكَ
the trustee on Your revelations,
جو تیری وحی کے امین
وَ الْقَوِيِّ عَلٰى اَمْرِكَ
the firm in conveying Your orders,
اور تیرے امر کے ذمّہ دار
وَ الْمُطَاعِ فِي سَمَاوَاتِكَ وَ مَحَالِّ كَرَامَاتِكَ
the obeyed in Your heavens and the places where Your honoring lies,
اور تیرے آسمانوں میں اور تیری کرامتوں کے مقامات پر قابل اطاعت ہیں۔
الْمُتَحَمِّلِ لِكَلِمَاتِكَ
the bearer of Your Words,
وہ تیرے کلمات کے سنبھالنے والے،
النَّاصِرِ لِاَنْبِيَاۤئِكَ
the supporter of Your Prophets,
تیرے انبیاء کے ناصر
الْمُدَمِّرِ لِاَعْدَاۤئِكَ
and the terminator of Your enemies.
اور دشمنوں کے ہلاک کرنے والے ہیں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مِيْكَاۤئِيْلَ
O Allah, (please do) send blessings to (Archangel) Michael,
خدایا درود نازل فرما میکائیل پر
مَلَكِ رَحْمَتِكَ
the angel of Your mercy,
جو تیری رحمت کے فرشتہ
وَ الْمَخْلُوْقِ لِرَأْفَتِكَ
the one created for (showing) Your kindness,
اور تیری مہربانی کے لیے مخلوق
وَ الْمُسْتَغْفِرِ الْمُعِيْنِ لِاَهْلِ طَاعَتِكَ
and the one seeking forgiveness and assisting the people of obedience to You.
اور اطاعت کرنے والوں کے لیے مدد اور استغفار کرنے والے ہیں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى اِسْرَافِيْلَ
O Allah, (please do) send blessings to Seraph,
خدایا درود نازل فرما اسرافیل پر
حَامِلِ عَرْشِكَ
the bearer of Your Throne,
جو تیرے عرش کے اُٹھانے والے
وَ صَاحِبِ الصُّوْرِ
the one in charge of the Trumpet (that declares the Resurrection Day),
صاحبِ صور ہیں۔
الْمُنْتَظِرِ لِاَمْرِكَ
the one waiting for Your order,
تیرے امر کے منتظر،
الْوَجِلِ الْمُشْفِقِ مِنْ خِيْفَتِكَ
and the one apprehensive and fearful of You.
تیرے خوف سے ڈرنے والے ہیں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى حَمَلَةِ الْعَرْشِ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ،
O Allah, (please do) send blessings to the pure angels who bear Your Throne,
خدایا درود نازل فرما عرش کے پاکیزہ اُٹھانے والوں پر
وَ عَلَى السَّفَرَةِ الْكِرَامِ
upon the scribes; the noble,
اور پاکیزہ سفیروں پر
الْبَرَرَةِ الطَّيِّبِيْنَ
the virtuous, and the immaculate,
اور نیکوکار بزرگ پر
وَ عَلٰى مَلَاۤئِكَتِكَ الْكِرَامِ الْكَاتِبِيْنَ
upon Your angels; the virtuous recorders (of the deeds),
اور اپنے محترم لکھنے والے فرشتوں پر
وَ عَلٰى مَلَاۤئِكَةِ الْجِنَانِ
upon the angels of the gardens of Paradise,
اور ان فرشتوں پر جو جنّت کے ساکن
وَ خَزَنَةِ النِّيْرَانِ
upon the keepers of Hellfire,
اور جہنّم کے نگراں ہیں
وَ مَلَكِ الْمَوْتِ وَ الْاَعْوَانِ
and upon the Angel of Death and his assistants.
اور موت کے فرشتہ اور ان کے مددگاروں پر۔
يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَ الْاِكْرَامِ
O Lord of Majesty and Honor!
اے جلالت اور بزرگی والے خدا۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى اَبِيْنَا آدَمَ
O Allah, (please do) send blessings to our father Adam:
درود نازل فرما ہمارے باپ آدم پر
بَدِيْعِ فِطْرَتِكَ
the foremost of Your creation
جو تیری بے نظیر مخلوق تھے۔
الَّذِيْ كَرَّمْتَهُ بِسُجُوْدِ مَلَاۤئِكَتِكَ
whom You honored by making Your angels prostrate themselves before him,
جن کو تو نے اپنے ملائکہ کے سجدہ سے محترم بنایا
وَ اَبَحْتَهُ جَنَّتَكَ
and whom You allowed to dwell in Your Paradise.
اور ان کے لیے جنّت کو مباح کردیا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى اُمِّنَا حَوَّاءَ
O Allah, (please do) send blessings to our mother Eve:
خدایا درود نازل فرما ہماری ماں حوّا پر
الْمُطَهَّرَةِ مِنَ الرِّجْسِ
the purified from filth,
جو رجس سے پاکیزہ
الْمُصَفَّاةِ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ
the cleaned from dirt,
اور گندگی سے صاف تھیں
الْمُفَضَّلَةِ مِنَ الْاِنْسِ
the favorite from among the humankind,
جن کو انسانوں میں فضیلت دی
الْمُتَرَدِّدَةِ بَيْنَ مَحَالِّ الْقُدْسِ
and the allowed to visit the places of sanctity.
اور مقاماتِ قدس میں سیر کرنے کی اجازت دی۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى هَابِيْلَ وَ شَيْثٍ
O Allah, (please do) send blessings to Abel, Shayth,
خدایا درود نازل کر ہابیلؑ اور شیثؑ،
وَ اِدْرِيْسَ وَ نُوْحٍ
Idris, Noah,
ادریسؑ، نوحؑ،
وَ هُوْدٍ وَ صَالِحٍ
Hud, Salih,
ہودؑ، صالحؑ،
وَ اِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَ اِسْمَاعِيْلَ
Abraham, Ishmael,
ابراہیمؑ، اسماعیلؑ،
وَ اِسْحَاقَ وَ يَعْقُوْبَ
Isaac, Jacob,
اسحاقؑ، یعقوبؑ،
وَ يُوْسُفَ وَ الْاَسْبَاطِ
Joseph, the Tribes,
یوسفؑ، اسباطؑ،
وَ لُوْطٍ وَ شُعَيْبٍ
Lot, Shu'ayb,
لوطؑ، شعیبؑ،
وَ اَيُّوْبَ وَ مُوْسَىٰ
Job, Moses,
ایّوبؑ، موسیٰؑ،
وَ هَارُوْنَ وَ يُوْشَعَ
Aaron, Joshua,
ہارونؑ، یوشعؑ،
وَ مِيْشَا وَ الْخِضْرِ
Micah, al-Khidr,
میشا، خضرؑ،
وَ ذِي الْقَرْنَيْنِ وَ يُوْنُسَ
DhuT-Qarnayn (the two-horned), Jonah,
ذوالقرنینؑ، یونسؑ،
وَ اِلْيَاسَ وَ الْيَسَعِ
Elias, Elisa,
الیاسؑ، الیسعؑ،
وَ ذِي الْكِفْلِ وَ طَالُوْتَ
DhuT-Kifl, Saul,
ذوالکفلؑ، طالوتؑ،
وَ دَاوُدَ وَ سُلَيْمَانَ
David, Solomon,
داؤدؑ، سلیمانؑ،
وَ زَكَرِيَّا وَ شَعْيَا
Zachariah, Shayah,
زکریّاؑ، شعیاؑ،
وَ يَحْيَىٰ وَ تُوْرَخَ
John, Turakh,
یحییٰؑ، تورخؑ،
وَ مَتَّى وَ اِرْمِيَا
Matthias, Jeremiah,
متیٰؑ، ارمیاؑ،
وَ حَيْقُوْقَ وَ دَانِيَالَ
Habakkuk, Daniel,
حیقوقؑ، دانیالؑ،
وَ عُزَيْرٍ وَ عِيْسَىٰ
Ezra, Jesus,
عزیرؑ، عیسیٰؑ،
وَ شَمْعُوْنَ وَ جِرْجِيْسَ
Simon, Georges,
شمعونؑ، جرجیسؑ،
وَ الْحَوَارِيِّيْنَ وَ الْاَتْبَاعِ
the Apostles, the Followers,
حواریین، اتباع کرنے والے،
وَ خَالِدٍ وَ حَنْظَلَةَ وَ لُقْمَانَ
Khalid, Hanzalah, and Luqman.
خالد، حنظلہ اور لقمان پر۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
O Allah, (please do) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
خدایا درود نازل فرما محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر
وَ ارْحَمْ مُحَمَّدًا وَ آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ
have mercy upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
اور رحمت فرما محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر
وَ بَارِكْ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
and send benedictions upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
اور برکت نازل فرما محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر
كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ وَ رَحِمْتَ [وَ تَرَحَّمْتَ] وَ بَارَكْتَ عَلٰى اِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَ اٰلِ اِبْرَاهِيْمَ
just as You have sent blessings, had mercy, and sent benedictions upon Abraham and the Household of Abraham.
جیسا کہ تو نے درود نازل کیا، رحمت نازل کی اور برکت نازل کی ابراہیمؑ اور آل ابراہیمؑ پر۔
اِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَجِيْدٌ
You are verily worthy of all praise, full of all glory.
بے شک تو صاحبِ حمد اور صاحبِ مجد ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى الْاَوْصِيَاءِ وَ السُّعَدَاءِ
O Allah, (please do) send blessings to the Successors, the happy,
خدایا درود نازل فرما پیغمبر کے وصیّوں اور نیک لوگوں
وَ الشُّهَدَاءِ وَ اَئِمَّةِ الْهُدَىٰ،
the witnesses, and the leaders to the true guidance.
اور شہیدوں اور ہدایت کے اماموں پر۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى الْاَبْدَالِ وَ الْاَوْتَادِ
O Allah, (please do) send blessings to the Substitutes (whom shall be given the favor of participating in Imam al-Mahdi’s campaigns), the loftiest personalities,
خدایا درود نازل کر ابدال، اوتاد،
وَ السُّيَّاحِ وَ الْعُبَّادِ
those observing fasting with devotion, those who ardently serve You,
سیّاح معرفت، عبادت گزار،
وَ الْمُخْلِصِيْنَ وَ الزُّهَّادِ
those whom You have chosen, the ascetic servants,
مخلصین، زاہد،
وَ اَهْلِ الْجِدِّ وَ الْاِجْتِهَادِ
and the people of painstaking and hardworking deeds.
کوشش کرنے والوں پر
وَ اخْصُصْ مُحَمَّدًا وَ اَهْلَ بَيْتِهِ بِاَفْضَلِ صَلَوَاتِكَ
(Please do) give Muhammad and his Household exclusively the best of Your blessings
اور محمدؐ اور ان کے اہل بیتؑ کو بہترین صلوات
وَ اَجْزَلِ كَرَامَاتِكَ
and the most abundant of Your favors.
اور بزرگ ترین کرامتوں کے ساتھ مخصوص فرمادے
وَ بَلِّغْ رُوْحَهُ وَ جَسَدَهُ مِنِّي تَحِيَّةً وَ سَلَامًا
(Please do) convey to his soul and body my greetings and compliments
اور میری طرف سے اُن کے روح اور جسم تک سلام و تحیّت پہنچا دے
وَ زِدْهُ فَضْلًا وَ شَرَفًا وَ كَرَمًا
and give him more favors, honor, and esteem
اور ان کے فضل و شرف و کرم میں اضافہ فرما۔
حَتَّىٰ تُبَلِّغَهُ اَعْلٰى دَرَجَاتِ اَهْلِ الشَّرَفِ
so that You will make him attain the most elevated ranks of the honored ones
اور بلند درجات تک پہنچا دے
مِنَ النَّبِيِّيْنَ وَ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ
from amongst the Prophets, the Messengers,
نبیوں اور رسولوں
وَ الْاَفَاضِلِ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ
and the virtuous, favorable ones.
اور مقرّبین کے بلند ترین درجہ تک۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَ صَلِّ عَلٰى مَنْ سَمَّيْتُ وَ مَنْ لَمْ اُسَمِّ
O Allah, (please) send blessings to those whose names I have mentioned or I have not
خدایا درود نازل فرما ان پر جن کا میں نے نام لیا ہے اور جن کا نام نہیں لیا ہے۔
مِنْ مَلَاۤئِكَتِكَ وَ اَنْبِيَاۤئِكَ
from amongst Your angels, Prophets,
تیرے ملائکہ، انبیاء،
وَ رُسُلِكَ وَ اَهْلِ طَاعَتِكَ
Messengers, and obedient servants.
مرسلین اور اطاعت کرنے والوں میں سے
وَ اَوْصِلْ صَلَوَاتِي اِلَيْهِمْ وَ اِلٰى اَرْوَاحِهِمْ
Convey my invocations of blessings to them and to their souls
اور میری صلوات کو ان تک پہنچا دے اور ان کی روحوں سے ملادے
وَ اجْعَلْهُمْ اِخْوَانِي فِيْكَ
and make them my brethren in You
اور ان کو اپنے بارے میں میرا بھائی قرار دے دے
وَ اَعْوَانِي عَلٰى دُعَاۤئِكَ
and make them help me pray You.
اور اپنی دعا کرنے پر مددگار بنادے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّي اَسْتَشْفِعُ بِكَ اِلَيْكَ
O Allah, I seek Your intercession for me to You,
خدایا میں تیری طرف توسّل چاہتا ہوں تجھ سے تیری بارگاہ
وَ بِكَرَمِكَ اِلٰى كَرَمِكَ
I seek Your honor in the name of Your honor,
اور تیرے کرم سے تیرے کرم کی طرف
وَ بِجُوْدِكَ اِلٰى جُوْدِكَ
I seek Your magnanimity in the name of Your magnanimity,
اور تیرے جود سے تیرے جود کی طرف
وَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ اِلٰى رَحْمَتِكَ،
and I seek Your mercy in the name of Your mercy
اور تیری رحمت سے تیری رحمت کی طرف
وَ بِاَهْلِ طَاعَتِكَ اِلَيْكَ
and in the name of the people of the obedience to You.
اور تیرے اہلِ طاعت کے ذریعہ
وَ اَسْاَلُكَ اَللّٰهُمَّ بِكُلِّ مَا سَاَلَكَ بِهِ اَحَدٌ مِنْهُمْ
I thus beseech You, O Allah, in the name of all the things by whose names those people have besought You,
اور سوال کرتا ہوں تجھ سے ہر اس چیز کا جس کا ان میں سے
مِنْ مَسْاَلَةٍ شَرِيْفَةٍ غَيْرِ مَرْدُوْدَةٍ
including the honorable requests that are never rejected by You
کسی ایک نے سوال کیا ہے اچھے اور مقبول سوال جن کے ذریعہ
وَ بِمَا دَعَوْكَ بِهِ مِنْ دَعْوَةٍ مُجَابَةٍ غَيْرِ مُخَيَّبَةٍ
and all the responded and unfailing prayers that they have asked from You.
انھوں نے وہ مستجاب دعا کی جس میں نا امیدی نہ ہو۔
يَا اللّٰهُ يَا رَحْمَانُ يَا رَحِيْمُ
O Allah! O All-beneficent! O All-merciful!
اے اللہ، اے بخشنے والے، اے مہربان،
يَا حَلِيْمُ يَا كَرِيمُ يَا عَظِيْمُ
O All-forbearing! O All-generous! O Allgreat!
اے بردبار، اے کرم والے، اے عظیم،
يَا جَلِيْلُ يَا مُنِيْلُ يَا جَمِيْلُ
O All-majestic! O Bestower! O All-munificent!
اے صاحبِ جلالت، اے عطا کرنے والے، ایک نیک،
يَا كَفِيْلُ يَا وَكِيْلُ يَا مُقِيْلُ
O Surety! O Dependable! O Rescuer!
اے کفیل، اے وکیل، اے درگذر کرنے والے،
يَا مُجِيْرُ يَا خَبِيْرُ
O Protector! O All-aware !
اے پناہ دینے والے، اے واقفِ کار،
يَا مُنِيْرُ يَا مُبِيْرُ
O All-luminous! O Eradicator (of the wrongdoers)!
اے روشن کرنے والے، اے ہلاک کرنے والے،
يَا مَنِيْعُ يَا مُدِيْلُ يَا مُحِيْلُ
O Shielding! O Grantor of victory! O Assuring!
اے روکنے والے، اے دولت بخشنے والے، اے تدبیر والے،
يَا كَبِيْرُ يَا قَدِيْرُ يَا بَصِيْرُ
O All-big! O All-powerful! O All-seer!
اے بزرگ، اے قدرت والے، اے دیکھنے والے،
يَا شَكُوْرُ يَا بَرُّ
O most Ready to appreciate (servitude)! O All-benign!
اے بدلہ دینے والے شاکروں کو، اے نیک،
يَا طُهْرُ يَا طَاهِرُ
O Source of purity! O All-pure!
اے پاک، اے پاکیزہ،
يَا قَاهِرُ يَا ظَاهِرُ
O Omnipotent! O Evident!
اے قادر، اے ظاہر،
يَا بَاطِنُ يَا سَاتِرُ
O Immanent! O Concealer!
اے باطن، اے پردہ پوش،
يَا مُحِيْطُ يَا مُقْتَدِرُ
O All-encompassing! O All-prevailing!
اے محیط، اے اقتدار والے،
يَا حَفِيْظُ يَا مُتَجَبِّرُ
O All-guarding! O Invincible!
اے نگہبان، اے صاحبِ جبروت،
يَا قَرِيْبُ يَا وَدُوْدُ
O Nigh! O Loving!
اے قریب، اے مہربان،
يَا حَمِيْدُ يَا مَجِيْدُ
O All-praised! O full of all glory!
اے صاحبِ حمد، اے باعزّت،
يَا مُبْدِئُ يَا مُعِيْدُ يَا شَهِيْدُ
O Originator! O Reproducer! O Witness!
اے پیدا کرنے والے، اے لوٹانے والے، اے گواہ،
يَا مُحْسِنُ يَا مُجْمِلُ
O All-liberal! O All-bountiful!
اے احسان کرنے والے، اے نیکو کار،
يَا مُنْعِمُ يَا مُفْضِلُ
O Source of all bounties! O Doer of favors!
اے انعام کرنے والے، اے زیادہ دینے والے،
يَا قَابِضُ يَا بَاسِطُ
O Straitening! O Enlarger!
اے روکنے والے، اے وسعت دینے والے،
يَا هَادِيْ، يَا مُرْسِلُ
O Guide! O Sender!
اے ہادی، اے بھیجنے والے،
يَا مُرْشِدُ يَا مُسَدِّدُ
O Director! O Leader (to the truth)!
اے ہدایت کرنے والے، اے قوّت عطا کرنے والے،
يَا مُعْطِي يَا مَانِعُ
O Giver! O Forbidder!
اے عطا کرنے والے، اے روکنے والے،
يَا دَافِعُ يَا رَافِعُ
O Repealer! O Raiser!
اے دفع کرنے والے، اے بلند کرنے والے،
يَا بَاقِي ْيَا وَاقِيْ
O Eternal! O Guardian!
اے باقی، اے نگہبان،
يَا خَلَّاقُ يَا وَهَّابُ
O Creator! O Endower!
اے خالق، اے روزی دینے والے،
يَا تَوَّابُ يَا فَتَّاحُ
O Accepter of repentance! O Decider!
اے توبہ قبول کرنے والے، اے کھولنے والے،
يَا نَفَّاحُ يَا مُرْتَاحُ
O Donator! O Source of rest!
اے نشاط و راحت بخشنے والے،
يَا مَنْ بِيَدِهِ كُلُّ مِفْتَاحٍ
O He Who has in possessions the clues of all things!
اے وہ ذات جس کے قبضہ میں ہر کلید ہے۔
يَا نَفَّاعُ يَا رَءُوْفُ يَا عَطُوْفُ
O Source of profit! O All-kind! O All-sympathetic!
اے منفعت بخش، اے مہربان، اے نرمی کرنے والے،
يَا كَافِيْ يَا شَافِيْ
O Securer! O Healer!
اے کافی، اے شفا دینے والے،
يَا مُعَافِيْ يَا مُكَافِيْ
O Curer! O Awarder!
اے صحّت دینے والے، اے بدلہ دینے والے،
يَا وَفِيُّ يَا مُهَيْمِنُ
O Faithful! O Dominant!
اے وفادار، اے نگہبان،
يَا عَزِيْزُ يَا جَبَّارُ
O Almighty! O All-potent!
اے عزّت والے، اے جبروت والے،
يَا مُتَكَبِّرُ يَا سَلَامُ يَا مُؤْمِنُ
O Superb! O Giver of peace! O Grantor of security!
اے کبریائی والے، اے سلامتی اور امان دینے والے،
يَا اَحَدُ يَا صَمَدُ
O Only One! O Besought of all!
اے یکتا، اے بے نیاز،
يَا نُوْرُ يَا مُدَبِّرُ
O Light! O Manager (of all affairs)!
اے نور، اے تدبیر کرنے والے،
يَا فَرْدُ يَا وِتْرُ
O Single! O Lone!
اے ایک، اے اکیلا،
يَا قُدُّوْسُ يَا نَاصِرُ
O Holy! O Giver of victory!
اے پاک، اے ناصر،
يَا مُوْنِسُ يَا بَاعِثُ يَا وَارِثُ
O Source of entertainment! O Resurrector! O Inheritor (of all things)!
اے مونس، اے اُٹھانے والے، اے وارث،
يَا عَالِمُ يَا حَاكِمُ
O All-knowing! O Judge!
اے علم والے، اے حکمت والے،
يَا بَادِيْ يَا مُتَعَالِي
O Originator! O Exalted!
اے ظاہر کرنے والے، اے بلند مقام،
يَا مُصَوِّرُ يَا مُسَلِّمُ يَا مُتَحَبِّبُ
O Maker of visions! O Grantor of safety! O Amiable!
اے صورت گر، اے سلامتی دینے والے، اے دوست،
يَا قَاۤئِمُ يَا دَاۤئِمُ
O Subsistent! O Everlasting!
اے قائم، اے دائم،
يَا عَلِيْمُ يَا حَكِيْمُ
O Knowing! O Wise!
اے علم والے، اے حکمت والے،
يَا جَوَادُ يَا بَارِئُ
O All-magnanimous! O Maker!
اے سخی، اے پیدا کرنے والے،
يَا بَارُّ يَا سَارُّ
O Caring! O Source of pleasure!
اے نیک، اے خوش کرنے والے،
يَا عَدْلُ يَا فَاصِلُ
O Fair! O Distinguishes (between the right and the wrong)!
اے عادل، اے جدا کرنے والے،
يَا دَيَّانُ يَا حَنَّانُ يَا مَنَّانُ،
O Master! O All-munificent! O Favorer!
اے جزا دینے والے، اے شفیق، اے مہربان،
يَا سَمِيْعُ يَا بَدِيْعُ
O All-hearer! O best Maker!
اے سننے والے، اے ایجاد کرنے والے،
يَا خَفِيْرُ يَا مُعِينُ [مُغَيِّرُ]
O Observer! O Helper!
اے پناہ عطا کرنے والے، اے مددگار،
يَا نَاشِرُ يَا غَافِرُ
O Extender (of mercy)! O Forgiver!
اے پھیلانے والے، اے بخشنے والے،
يَا قَدِيْمُ يَا مُسَهِّلُ يَا مُيَسِّرُ
O Eternal! O Alleviator! O Reliever!
اے قدیم، اے سہل و آسان بنانے والے،
يَا مُمِيْتُ يَا مُحْيِيْ
O He Who causes to die! O Grantor of life!
اے مارنے والے، اے جِلانے والے،
يَا نَافِعُ يَا رَازِقُ
O Grantor of benefits! O Provider of sustenance!
اے فائدہ پہنچانے والے، اے رازق،
يَا مُقْتَدِرُ [مُقَدِّرُ] يَا مُسَبِّبُ
O All-competent! O Creator of causes!
اے اقتدار والے، اے سبب بنانے والے،
يَا مُغِيْثُ يَا مُغْنِيْ يَا مُقْنِيْ
O Aide! O Grantor of wealth! O Giver to hold!
اے فریاد رس، اے بے نیاز، اے سرمایہ بخش،
يَا خَالِقُ يَا رَاصِدُ يَا وَاحِدُ
O Creator! O Onlooker! O One!
اے خالق، اے نگہبان، اے یگانہ،
يَا حَاضِرُ يَا جَابِرُ
O Present! O Mender!
اے حاضر، اے جبروت والے،
يَا حَافِظُ يَا شَدِيْدُ
O Safeguarding! O Firm (in punishment)!
اے حفاظت کرنے والے، اے مستحکم،
يَا غِيَاثُ يَا عَاۤئِدُ يَا قَابِضُ
0 Aid! O Donor! O Straitening!
اے فریاد رس، اے فائدہ پہنچانے والے، اے روک لینے والے،
يَا مَنْ عَلَا فَاسْتَعْلٰى
O He Who has mounted to the most elevated point,
اے وہ جو بلند ہوا تو سب سے بلند ہوا
فَكَانَ بِالْمَنْظَرِ الْاَعْلٰى
He thus occupies the most exalted site!
اور وہ بلند منظر و مقام میں ٹھہرا،
يَا مَنْ قَرُبَ فَدَنَا
O He Who has approached so closely that He has become the nearest of all things
اے وہ جو قریب ہوا تو بہت قریب ہوا
وَ بَعُدَ فَنَاَىٰ
and, at the same time, He has been so far that He is in the furthest point,
اور دور ہوا تو بہت دور ہوا
وَ عَلِمَ السِّرَّ وَ اَخْفَى
and He has known the secret and even what is more hidden!
پوشیدہ راز کو جان لیا تو پوشیدہ رکھا۔
يَا مَنْ اِلَيْهِ التَّدْبِيْرُ وَ لَهُ الْمَقَادِيْرُ
O He to Whom all management is relegated and to Whom all measures are referred!
اے وہ جس کی طرف تدبیر ہے اور جس کے ہاتھ میں تقدیر ہے۔
وَ يَا مَنِ الْعَسِيْرُ عَلَيْهِ سَهْلٌ يَسِيْرٌ
O He for Whom the most difficult thing is easy and simple!
اے وہ جس کے لیے ہر مشکل آسان ہے،
يَا مَنْ هُوَ عَلٰى مَا يَشَاءُ قَدِيْرٌ
O He Who has power to do whatever He wills!
اے وہ جس چیز پر چاہے قادر ہے۔
يَا مُرْسِلَ الرِّيَاحِ
O He Who sends forth the wind!
اے ہواؤں کے چلانے والے
يَا فَالِقَ الْاِصْبَاحِ
O He Who causes the dawn to break!
اور صبح کو ظاہر کرنے والے،
يَا بَاعِثَ الْاَرْوَاحِ
O He Who revives the spirits!
اے روحوں کو اُٹھانے والے،
يَا ذَا الْجُوْدِ وَ السَّمَاحِ
O Lord of magnanimity and lenience!
سخاوت و بخشش والے،
يَا رَادَّ مَا قَدْ فَاتَ
O He Who has the power to restore that which has been missed!
اے فوت ہوجانے والے کو لوٹانے والے،
يَا نَاشِرَ الْاَمْوَاتِ
O He Who resurrects the dead bodies!
اے مُردوں کو زندہ کرنے والے،
يَا جَامِعَ الشَّتَاتِ،
O He Who draws together the dispersal!
اے متفرق کو جمع کرنے والے،
يَا رَازِقَ مَنْ يَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ
O He Who provides sustenance to whomever He wants without measure!
اے جس کو چاہے بے حساب رزق عطا کرنے والے،
وَ يَا فَاعِلَ مَا يَشَاءُ كَيْفَ يَشَاءُ
O He Who has power to do whatever He wills however He wills!
اے جو چاہے اور جیسے چاہے کرلینے والے،
وَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَ الْاِكْرَامِ
O Lord of Majesty and Honor!
اے جلالت اور بزرگی والے۔
يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّوْمُ
O Ever-living! O Self-subsistent!
اے زندہ و پائندہ۔
يَا حَيًّا حِيْنَ لَا حَيَّ
O He Who existed when there existed nothing else!
اے زندہ جب کوئی زندہ نہ تھا
يَا حَيُّ يَا مُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتٰى
O Ever-living! O Reviver of the dead!
اور اے زندہ، اے مُردوں کو زندہ کرنے والے۔
يَا حَيُّ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ
O Ever-living! There is no god save You
اے زندہ سوائے تیرے کوئی معبود نہیں ہے۔
بَدِيْعُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ
the excellent Maker of the heavens and the earth.
آسمانوں اور زمین کا پیدا کرنے والا ہے۔
يَا اِلٰهِيْ وَ سَيِّدِيْ
O my God and my Master,
اے میرے خدا، میرے سردار
صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
(please do) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
درود نازل فرما محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر
وَ ارْحَمْ مُحَمَّدًا وَ آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ
have mercy upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
اور رحم کر محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر
وَ بَارِكْ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
and send benedictions upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
اور برکت نازل کر محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر
كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ وَ بَارَكْتَ وَ رَحِمْتَ [تَرَحَّمْتَ] عَلٰى اِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَ اٰلِ اِبْرَاهِيْمَ
just as You have sent blessings and benedictions and had mercy upon Abraham and the household of Abraham.
جیسا کہ تو نے صلوات، برکت اور رحمت نازل کی ہے ابراہیمؑ اور آلِ ابراہیمؑ پر۔
اِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَجِيْدٌ
You are verily worthy of all praise and full of all glory.
بے شک تو صاحبِ حمد و بزرگی ہے۔
وَ ارْحَمْ ذُلِّي وَ فَاقَتِيْ
Have mercy upon my humiliation, neediness,
اب رحم کر میری ذلّت، میرے فاقہ،
وَ فَقْرِيْ وَ انْفِرَادِيْ وَ وَحْدَتِي
poverty, loneliness, aloneness,
میرے فقر، میری تنہائی اور میرے اکیلے پن پر
وَ خُضُوْعِيْ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ
humbleness before You,
اور اپنی بارگاہ میں میرے خضوع پر
وَ اعْتِمَادِيْ عَلَيْكَ
reliance upon You,
اور میرے اپنے اوپر اعتماد پر
وَ تَضَرُّعِيْ اِلَيْكَ،
and submission to You.
اور تیری طرف تضرّع پر۔
اَدْعُوْكَ دُعَاءَ الْخَاضِعِ الذَّلِيْلِ
I implore You with the imploring of the humble, the subservient,
میں تجھ سے دعا کرتا ہوں اس شخص کی طرح جو خاضع اور ذلیل،
الْخَاشِعِ الْخَاۤئِفِ
the fearful, the scared
خائف و خاشع،
الْمُشْفِقِ الْبَاۤئِسِ
the afraid, the miserable,
ڈرنے والا، پریشان،
الْمَهِيْنِ الْحَقِيْرِ
the modest, the insignificant,
ذلیل، حقیر ،
الْجَاۤئِعِ الْفَقِيْرِ
the hungry, the poor,
گرسنہ، فقیر،
الْعَاۤئِذِ الْمُسْتَجِيْرِ
the seeker of Your refuge, the seeker of Your protection,
پناہ چاہنے والا،
الْمُقِرِّ بِذَنْبِهِ
the confessing of his sins,
اپنے گناہ کا اقرار کرنے والا،
الْمُسْتَغْفِرِ مِنْهُ
the implorer for You to forgive his sin,
اس سے استغفار کرنے والا،
الْمُسْتَكِيْنِ لِرَبِّهِ
and the humble to his Lord;
اپنے خدا سے زاری کرنے والا ہے۔
دُعَاءَ مَنْ اَسْلَمَتْهُ ثِقَتُهُ [نَفْسُهُ]
I implore You with the imploratioR of one whom has been disappointed by those whom he trusts,
اس شخص کی دعا جس کو اس کے اعتماد نے بلا کے حوالے کردیا
وَ رَفَضَتْهُ اَحِبَّتُهُ
rejected by his intimate ones,
اور جس کو اس کے دوستوں نے چھوڑ دیا
وَ عَظُمَتْ فَجِيْعَتُهُ
and whose catastrophe has been enormous.
اور جس کی مصیبت سخت ہوگئی ہو۔
دُعَاءَ حَرِقٍ حَزِيْنٍ
I implore You the imploration of one burning, sad,
اس شخص کی دعا جو جلا ہو، محزون،
ضَعِيْفٍ مَهِيْنٍ
weak, mortified,
کمزور، ذلیل،
بَاۤئِسٍ مُسْتَكِيْنٍ
depressed, wretched,
پریشان، بے نوا
بِكَ مُسْتَجِيْرٍ
and resorting to Your shelter.
اور تجھ سے پناہ چاہنے والا ہو۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَ اَسْاَلُكَ بِاَنَّكَ مَلِيْكٌ
O Allah, I also beseech You in the name of Your being the King,
خدایا میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں کہ تو بادشاہ ہے
وَ اَنَّكَ مَا تَشَاءُ مِنْ اَمْرٍ يَكُوْنُ
whatever You will shall definitely take place,
اور تو جو چاہتا ہے وہ امر موجود ہوجاتا ہے
وَ اَنَّكَ عَلٰى مَا تَشَاءُ قَدِيْرٌ
and You have power over all things.
اور تو جس چیز پر چاہے قدرت رکھتا ہے
وَ اَسْاَلُكَ بِحُرْمَةِ هٰذَا الشَّهْرِ الْحَرَامِ
I beseech You in the name of the holiness of this sacred month,
اور میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں اسی محترم مہینہ
وَ الْبَيْتِ الْحَرَامِ
the Sacred House,
اور محترم گھر
وَ الْبَلَدِ الْحَرَامِ
the Sacred Town,
اور محترم شہر
وَ الرُّكْنِ وَ الْمَقَامِ
the Rukn (i.e. the corner of the Holy Ka'bah), the Maqam (i.e. the standing-place of Prophet Abraham),
اور رکن و مقام
وَ الْمَشَاعِرِ الْعِظَامِ
the great rituals,
اور مشاعرِ عظام
وَ بِحَقِّ نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِ وَ اٰلِهِ السَّلَامُ
and in the name of Your Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his Household.
اور تیرے نبی محمد صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ و سلّم کے واسطہ سے۔
يَا مَنْ وَهَبَ لِآدَمَ شَيْثًا،
O He Who gave Shayth to Adam,
اے وہ خدا جس نے آدمؑ کو شیثؑ عطا کیا
وَ لِاِبْرَاهِيْمَ اِسْمَاعِيْلَ وَ اِسْحَاقَ
and gave Ishmael and Isaac to Abraham!
اور ابراہیمؑ کو اسماعیلؑ و اسحاقؑ سے نوازا۔
وَ يَا مَنْ رَدَّ يُوْسُفَ عَلٰى يَعْقُوْبَ
O He Who returned Joseph to Jacob!
اے وہ خدا جس نے یوسفؑ کو یعقوبؑ کے پاس پلٹا دیا۔
وَ يَا مَنْ كَشَفَ بَعْدَ الْبَلَاءِ ضُرَّ اَيُّوْبَ
O He Who relieved Job from his harm after long hardships!
اے وہ جس نے مصیبت کے بعد ایّوبؑ کی تکلیف کو دور کردیا۔
يَا رَادَّ مُوْسَىٰ عَلٰى اُمِّهِ
O He Who returned Moses to his mother!
اے موسیٰؑ کو ان کی ماں کے پاس پلٹانے والے
وَ زَاۤئِدَ الْخِضْرِ فِي عِلْمِهِ
O He Who increased al-Khadir knowledge!
اور خضرؑ کے علم کو بڑھانے والے
وَ يَا مَنْ وَهَبَ لِدَاوُدَ سُلَيْمَانَ
O He Who gave Solomon to David,
اور اے وہ خدا جس نے داؤدؑ کو سلیمانؑ
وَ لِزَكَرِيَّا يَحْيَىٰ
gave Jonah to Zachariah,
اور زکریاؑ کو یحییٰؑ عطا کیا
وَ لِمَرْيَمَ عِيْسَىٰ
and gave Jesus to Mary!
اور مریمؑ کو عیسیٰؑ عطا کیا
يَا حَافِظَ بِنْتِ شُعَيْبٍ
O He Who safeguarded the daughter of Shu'ayb!
اور دخترِ شعیبؑ کی حفاظت کرنے والے
وَ يَا كَافِلَ وَلَدِ اُمِّ مُوْسَىٰ
O He Who cared for the son of the mother of Moses!
اور اے فرزندِ مادرِ موسیٰؑ کی کفالت کرنے والے
اَسْاَلُكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
I beseech You to send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں کہ درود نازل فرما محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر
وَ اَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي ذُنُوْبِيْ كُلَّهَا
forgive my all sins,
اور میرے کل گناہوں کو بخش دے
وَ تُجِيْرَنِي مِنْ عَذَابِكَ
save me from Your chastisement,
اور مجھ کو اپنے عذاب سے بچالے
وَ تُوْجِبَ لِي رِضْوَانَكَ وَ اَمَانَكَ
and confer upon me with Your pleasure and security
اور میرے لیے اپنی رضامندی امان،
وَ اِحْسَانَكَ وَ غُفْرَانَكَ وَ جِنَانَكَ
and with Your favoring, forgiveness, and gardens of Your Paradise.
احسان، بخشش، بہشت کو لازم کر دے
وَ اَسْاَلُكَ اَنْ تَفُكَّ عَنِّيْ كُلَّ حَلْقَةٍ
I ask You to redeem me from all circles of misfortune
اور میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں کہ تو کھول دے میری ہر اس زنجیر کو
بَيْنِيْ وَ بَيْنَ مَنْ يُؤْذِيْنِيْ،
that are drawn around those who intend harm to me and me,
جو میرے اور مجھ کو تکلیف دینے والے کے درمیان ہے
وَ تَفْتَحَ لِيْ كُلَّ بَابٍ
unlock for me all doors,
اور کھول دے میرے لیے ہر دروازہ کو
وَ تُلَيِّنَ لِيْ كُلَّ صَعْبٍ
make easy for me all hardships,
اور ہر مشکل کو آسان کردے
وَ تُسَهِّلَ لِيْ كُلَّ عَسِيْرٍ
alleviate for me all difficult matters,
اور سختی کو سہل کردے
وَ تُخْرِسَ عَنِّيْ كُلَّ نَاطِقٍ بِشَرٍّ
mute all those who speak ill of me,
اور ہر بُرا کہنے والے کو گونگا بنادے
وَ تَكُفَّ عَنِّيْ كُلَّ بَاغٍ
defend me against all oppressors,
اور ہر ظالم کے شر کو دور کردے
وَ تَكْبِتَ [عَنِّي] كُلَّ عَدُوٍّ لِيْ وَ حَاسِدٍ
suppress all my enemies and envious ones,
اور ہر دشمن اور حاسد کو ذلیل کردے
وَ تَمْنَعَ مِنِّيْ كُلَّ ظَالِمٍ
protect me against all unjust ones,
اور ہر ظالم کو مجھ سے روک دے
وَ تَكْفِيَنِيْ كُلَّ عَاۤئِقٍ يَحُوْلُ بَيْنِيْ وَ بَيْنَ حَاجَتِيْ
and rescue me from all impediments that lie between my needs and me,
اور جو میرے اور میری حاجت کے درمیان حائل ہو
وَ يُحَاوِلُ اَنْ يُفَرِّقَ بَيْنِيْ وَ بَيْنَ طَاعَتِكَ
try to take me away from acts of obedience to You,
اور چاہتا ہو کہ میرے اور تیری اطاعت کے درمیان حائل ہوجائے
وَ يُثَبِّطَنِيْ عَنْ عِبَادَتِكَ
and try to frustrate me from serving You.
اور تیری عبادت سے روک دے سب کے مقابلہ میں کافی ہوجا۔
يَا مَنْ اَلْجَمَ الْجِنَّ الْمُتَمَرِّدِيْنَ
O He Who has bridled all mutinous jinn,
اے وہ ذات جس نے دیو سرکش کو لگام دی ہے
وَ قَهَرَ عُتَاةَ الشَّيَاطِيْنِ
overcome all tyrannical devils,
اور شیطان گردن کُش کو مغلوب کردیا ہے
وَ اَذَلَّ رِقَابَ الْمُتَجَبِّرِيْنَ
mortified the necks of the oppressors,
اور جابروں کو ذلیل کردیا ہے
وَ رَدَّ كَيْدَ الْمُتَسَلِّطِيْنَ عَنِ الْمُسْتَضْعَفِيْنَ
and deterred all the ruling authorities from harming the enfeebled ones!
اور اقتدار والوں کی مکّاری کو کمزروں سے دور کردیا ہے۔
اَسْاَلُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ عَلٰى مَا تَشَاءُ
I beseech You in the name of Your power over all things
میں تجھ سے سوال کرتا ہوں تیری اُسی قدرت کے واسطے سے
وَ تَسْهِيْلِكَ لِمَا تَشَاءُ كَيْفَ تَشَاءُ
and Your alleviating whatever You will however You will,
جو ہر شئے پر ہے اور اس حوالہ سے کہ تو جو چاہے اور جیسے چاہے آسان بناسکتا ہے۔
اَنْ تَجْعَلَ قَضَاءَ حَاجَتِيْ فِيْمَا تَشَاءُ۔
to grant my requests as You will.
میری حاجت کو پورا کردے جس کو تو چاہتا ہے۔
Then, you may prostrate yourself and try to stick your cheeks to the ground, saying the following:
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَكَ سَجَدْتُ
O Allah, I am prostrating myself before You
خدایا میں نے تیرے لیے سجدہ کیا
وَ بِكَ آمَنْتُ
and I have full faith in You;
اور تجھ پر ایمان لایا۔
فَارْحَمْ ذُلِّي وَ فَاقَتِيْ
so, (please) have mercy upon my humility, neediness,
اب تو رحم کر میری ذلّت، احتیاج،
وَ اجْتِهَادِيْ وَ تَضَرُّعِيْ
efforts, meekness,
کوشش، زاری،
وَ مَسْكَنَتِيْ وَ فَقْرِيْ اِلَيْكَ يَا رَبِّ۔
paucity, and my want to You, O my Lord.
بے نوائی اور فقر پر اے میرے پروردگار۔
You should try to shed even a single drop of tear, for this is the signal of admission.
On the twenty-fifth of Rajab, AH 183, Imam Musa ibn Ja’far (a.s.) departed life in Baghdad while he was fifty-five years old. On this day, the mourning and sadness of the Holy Prophet’s Household, as well as their adherents, are agitated.
