تاکید در امر وصیت
The Holy Prophet (s) is reported to have said, “Whoever fails to write his will sensibly before his death, lacks reason and manliness.” He (s) was asked, “How should excellent writing of one’s will be, Allah’s Messenger?” He (s) instructed: In the last hours of his lifetime and when people gather around him, he must say:
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَاطِرَ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْاَرْضِ
“O Allah! O Designer of the heavens and the earth!
اے خدا اے آسمان و زمین کے پیدا کرنے والے،
عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَ الشَّهَادَةِ
O Knower of the unseen and seen!
حاضر و غائب کے جاننے والے،
الرَّحْمٰنَ الرَّحِيْمَ
O most Beneficent! O most Merciful!
اے رحمٰن و رحیم
اِنِّىْۤ اَعْهَدُ اِلَيْكَ
I confide in You
میں تیری بارگاہ میں عہد کرتا ہوں
اَنِّىْۤ اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لَاۤاِلٰهَ اِلَّااللّٰهُ
that I bear witness that there is no god save Allah
کہ میں اس بات کی گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ تیرے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے
وَحْدَهُ لَاشَرِيْكَ لَهُ
alone, without Your having any associate.
کوئی اس کا شریک نہیں
وَاَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ اٰلِهٖ عَبْدُهُ وَ رَسُوْلُهُ
I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger,
محمدؐ تیرے بندہ و رسول ہیں،
وَ اَنَّ السَّاعَةَ اٰتِيَةٌ لَارَيْبَ فِيْهَا
that the Hour shall undoubtedly come,
قیامت آنے والی ہے اس میں کوئی شک نہیں ہے۔
وَ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَبْعَثُ مَنْ فِى الْقُبُوْرِ
that Allah shall raise the dead from their graves,
اللہ ہم لوگوں کو قبر سے نکالنے والا ہے۔
وَ اَنَّ الْحِسَابَ حَقٌّ
that the Interrogation is true,
حساب حق ہے،
وَ اَنَّ الْجَنَّةَ حَقٌّ
that Paradise is true,
جنّت حق ہے،
وَ اَنَّ مَا وُعِدَ فِيْهَا مِنَ النَّعِيْمِ
that whatever is promised to be therein—such as bliss,
خدا نے جن نعمتوں کا وعدہ کیا ہے
مِنَ الْمَاْكَلِ وَ الْمَشْرَبِ وَ النِّكَاحِ حَقٌّ
eating, drinking and marriage—is true,
چاہے کھانے کی ہوں، چاہے پینے کی ہوں، چاہے نکاح کی ہوں، سب برحق ہیں۔
وَ اَنَّ النَّارَ حَقٌّ
that Hellfire is true,
جہنّم برحق ہے۔
وَ اَنَّ الْاِيْمَانَ حَقٌّ
that faith is true,
ایمان حق ہے۔
وَ اَنَّ الدِّيْنَ كَمَا وَصَفَ،
that the religion is as exactly as He has described,
دین ویسا ہی ہے جیسا تو نے بیان کیا ہے۔
وَ اَنَّ الْاِسْلَامَ كَمَا شَرَعَ
that Islam is exactly as He has established,
اسلام ویسا ہی ہے جیسا تو نے بنایا ہے،
وَ اَنَّ الْقَوْلَ كَمَا قَالَ
that all what He has said is exactly the truth,
بات وہی ہے جو تو نے کہی ہے،
وَ اَنَّ الْقُرْاٰنَ كَمَاۤ اَنْزَلَ
that the Qur'an is as exactly as what He has revealed,
قرآن وہی ہے جو تو نے نازل کیا ہے۔
وَ اَنَّ اللّٰهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ الْمُبِيْنُ
and that Allah is verily the Manifest Truth.
اللہ ہی حق مبین ہے۔
وَ اَنِّىْۤ اَعْهَدُ اِلَيْكَ فِىْ دَارِ الدُّنْيَاۤ
I also confide in You in this world
خدایا میں تجھ سے عہد کرتا ہوں کہ
اَنِّىْ رَضِيْتُ بِكَ رَبًّا
that I submit to You being my Lord,
اس دارِ دنیا میں میں تجھ کو رب سمجھتا ہوں،
وَ بِالْاِسْلَامِ دِيْنًا
Islam being my religion,
اسلام کو دین مانتا ہوں،
وَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ اٰلِهٖ نَبِيًّا
Muhammad, may Allah bless him and his Household, being my Prophet,
محمدؐ کو نبی مانتا ہوں،
وَ بِعَلِيٍّ وَلِيًّا
'Ali being my Imam,
علیؑ کو ولی و امام مانتا ہوں،
وَ بِالْقُرْاٰنِ كِتَابًا
the Qur'an being my Book,
قرآن کو کتاب
وَ اَنَّ اَهْلَ بَيْتِ نَبِّيِّكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ اَئِمَّتِىْ
and Your Prophet’s Household—Your peace be upon him and them—being my Imams.
اور اہل بیتؑ پیغمبرؐ کو اپنا پیشوا مانتا ہوں۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْتَ ثِقَتِىْ عِنْدَ شِدَّتِىْ
O Allah, in You I trust in tribulations,
خدایا تو ہر شدّت میں میرا سہارا،
وَ رَجَاۤئِىْ عِنْدَ كُرْبَتِىْ
You are my only hope in agonies,
ہر رنج میں میری امید
وَ عُدَّتِىْ عِنْدَ الْاُمُوْرِ الَّتِىْ تَنْزِلُ بِىْ
You are my only provision when misfortunes befall me,
اور جملہ نازل ہونے والے امور میں میرا ذخیرہ ہے۔
وَ اَنْتَ وَلِيِّىْ فِىْ نِعْمَتِىْ
You are my sponsor in my blessings,
تو نعمتوں میں میرا ولی
وَ اِلٰهِىْ وَ اِلٰهُ اٰبَاۤئِىْ
and You are my God and my ancestors’ God.
اور میرا خدا اور میرے بزرگوں کا خدا ہے۔
صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِهٖ
So (please) send blessings upon Muhammad and his Household
محمدؐ وآل محمدؐ پر رحمت نازل فرما
وَ لَاتَكِلْنِىْ اِلٰى نَفْسِىْ طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ اَبَدًا
and do not make me depend on my own self even for the winking of an eye.
اور مجھے ایک لمحے کے لیے میرے نفس کے حوالے نہ کردینا،
وَ اٰنِسْ فِىْ قَبْرِىْ وَحْشَتِىْ
Please, entertain me in my grave and loneliness
میری قبر میں نور فراہم کرنا۔
وَاجْعَلْ لِىْ عِنْدَكَ عَهْدًا يَوْمَ اَلْقَاكَ مَنْشُوْرًا
and keep my confidence in You active for the day on which I shall meet You.”
اس عہد کو قیامت تک کے لیے محفوظ رکھنا۔
The Holy Prophet (s) then added, “This is the covenant of the moribund when he makes his will, which is obligatory upon each Muslim individual.”
Commenting on this, Imam al-Sadiq (‘a) is reported to have said: Certifying this fact, Allah the All-blessed and All-exalted says in Surah Maryam:
لَّا يَمْلِكُونَ الشَّفَاعَةَ إِلَّا مَنِ اتَّخَذَ عِندَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًا
“They shall not control intercession, save he who has made a covenant with the Beneficent Allah.”
شفاعت کے مالک نہیں ہوں گے مگر وہ لوگ جنہوں نے خدائے رحمٰن کے ہاں سے عہد لے لیا ہے اور یہ وہی عہد ہے ۔

The Holy Prophet (s) then instructed Imam ‘Ali (‘a) to learn this covenant and advise the members of his household and his adherents (i.e. Shi’ah) to learn it. He (s) added, “I have been taught this by Archangel Gabriel.”
