دعا تمجید اور ثناء پرودرگار
Fortieth: Shaykh Ibn Fahad has reported Imam al-Sadiq (‘a) as saying, “Any supplication that is not commenced with a statement of glorification of the Lord is imperfect. Glorification may always precedes praise.”
The reporter asked the Imam (‘a), “What is the least acceptable statement of glorification?”
The Imam (‘a) taught him to say this supplicatory prayer:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْتَ الْاَوَّلُ
O Allah, You are the Foremost;
پروردگار تو ہی اوّل ہے
فَلَيْسَ قَبْلَكَ شَيْئٌ
so, nothing existed before You.
کہ جس سے پہلے کوئی شئی نہیں
وَ اَنْتَ الْاٰ خِرُ
You are the Last;
اور تو ہی آخر ہے
فَلَيْسَ بَعْدَكَ شَيْئٌ
so, nothing will exist after You.
کہ تیرے بعد کوئی شئے نہیں ہے
وَ اَنْتَ الظَّاهِرُ
You are the Manifest;
تو ہی ظاہر ہے
فَلَيْسَ فَوْقَكَ شَيْئٌ
so, nothing is over You.
کہ تیرے اوپر کوئی شئے نہیں ہے۔
وَ اَنْتَ الْبَاطِنُ
You are the Immanent;
تو ہی باطن ہے کہ
فَلَيْسَ دُوْنَكَ شَيْئٌ
so, nothing can hide itself against You.
تجھ سے بلند تر کوئی شئی نہیں ہے۔
وَ اَنْتَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ۔
You are the Almighty, the All-wise.
تو ہی عزیز بھی ہے اور تو ہی حکیم بھی ہے۔
