دعائے ختنہ
Twenty-sixth: Imam al-Sadiq (‘a) is reported to have said:
These words should be said before circumcising any boy. However, if one neglects saying these words, he must say them before the boy attains maturity. If he does, the boy will be saved from the heat of iron (i.e. being killed by a sword or the like):
اَللّٰهُمَّ هٰذِهِ سُنَّتُكَ وَ سُنَّةُ نَبِيِّكَ
O Allah, this is the tradition decreed by You and instructed by Your Prophet,
خدایا یہ تیرا حکم اور تیرے پیغمبرؐ کی سنّت ہے
صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ اٰلِهٖ
may Your blessings be upon him and his Household.
درود و سلام ہو ان پر اور ان کی آلؑ پر
وَاتِّبَاعٌ مِنَّا لَكَ وَ لِنَبِّيِكَ
[We have carried it out] as sign of our commitment to Your decrees and patterning after Your Prophet,
اور میری طرف سے تیرا اور تیرے پیغمبرؐ کا اتباع ہے
بِمَشِيَّتِكَ وَ بِاِرَادَتِكَ
within Your will and Your volition
تیرے ارادہ اور حکم کو
وَ قَضَاۤئِكَ لِاَمْرٍ اَرَدْتَهُ
and within Your bringing about a matter that You have wanted to be,
جو تو نے حکم دیا ہے
وَ قَضَاۤءٍ حَتَمْتَهُ
a decree that You have determined,
اور جو فیصلہ کیا ہے
وَ اَمْرٍ اَنْفَذْتَهُ
and an order that You have deemed obligatory.
اور جو امر نافذ کیا ہے
وَ اَذَقْتَهُ حَرَّ الْحَدِيْدِ فِىْ خِتَانِهِ وَ حِجَامَتِهِ
You have thus caused him to taste the heat of iron in his circumcision and cupping
اور ختنہ میں جو زحمت ہے اس حکم کی بناپر
بِاَمْرٍ اَنْتَ اَعْرَفُ بِهِ مِنِّىْ
due to a matter that You know better than I do.
جس کو تو مجھ سے بہتر جانتا ہے
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَطَهِّرْهُ مِنَ الذُّنُوْبِ
O Allah, so (please) purify him from sins,
لہٰذا پروردگار اسے گناہوں سے پاک بنا دے،
وَزِدْ فِىْ عُمْرِهِ
increase the term of his lifetime,
اس کی عمر میں اضافہ کردے
وَادْفَعِ الْاۤفَاتِ عَنْ بَدَنِهِ
drive away diseases from his physique
اور آفتوں کو اس کے بدن سے الگ کردے۔
وَالْاَوْجَاعَ عَنْ جِسْمِهِ
and pains from his body,
رنج کو اس کے جسم سے دور کردے،
وَ زِدْهُ مِنَ الْغِنٰى
grant him wealth increasingly,
اس کی مالداری میں اضافہ فرما۔
وَ ادْفَعْ عَنْهُ الْفَقْرَ
and chase off poverty from him.
اور فقر کو دفع فرما دے
فَاِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ وَلَانَعْلَمُ۔
Verily, You know and we do not know.
اس لیے کہ تو جانتا ہے اور ہم نہیں جانتے ہیں۔
