قنوت امام حسین (ع)
Eleventh: Imam al-Husayn (‘a) is reported to have used to said this supplicatory prayer in the second units of the ritual prayers:
اَللّٰهُمَّ مَنْ اٰوٰى اِلٰى مَاْوًى فَاَنْتَ مَاْوَاىٰ
O Allah, if someone may resort to a shelter, then my shelter is You.
خدایا جس نے کسی بھی پناہ گاہ کی پناہ لی تو میری پناہ گاہ تیری ہی ہستی ہے
وَ مَنْ لَجَاۤءَ اِلٰى مَلْجَاۤءٍ فَاَنْتَ مَلْجَاِى
If someone may seek refuge in an asylum, they my asylum is You.
اور جو کوئی ملجاء و ماویٰ تلاش کرتا ہے تو میرے لیے ملجاء و ماویٰ تیری ہی ذات ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
O Allah, (please) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
خدایا محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر رحمت نازل فرما،
وَاسْمَعْ نِدَاۤئِىْ
listen to my call,
میری آواز کو سن لے،
وَ اَجِبْ دُعَاۤئِىْ
respond to my prayer,
میری دعا کو قبول کرلے،
وَاجْعَلْ مَاٰبِىْ عِنْدَكَ وَ مَثْوَاىَ
decide my final return and abode to be with You,
میری بازگشت اپنی بارگاہ میں قرار دے دے
وَاحْرُسْنِىْ فِىْ بَلْوَاىَ
and guard me, when I am afflicted by an ordeal,
اور مجھے ہر امتحان کے موقع پر
مِنِ افْتِتَانِ الْاِمْتَحَانِ
against failure in the trial
فتنوں سے
وَ لَمَّةِ الشَّيْطَانِ
and against the influence of Satan,
شیطان کے شر سے محفوظ رکھنا
بِعَظَمَتِكَ الَّتِىْ لَا يَشُوْبُهَا وَلَعُ نَفْسٍ بِتَفْتِيْنٍ
[please do it] in the name of Your greatness that is admixed with neither infatuating fondness
اپنی اس عظمت کے سہارے جہاں کسی فتنے کی رسائی نہیں ہے
وَ لَا وَارِدُ طَيْفٍ بِتَظْنِيْنٍ
nor assumed and transitory apparition
اور کسی کا خیال بد پہنچ نہیں سکتا ہے۔
وَلَا يَلُمُّ بِهَا فَرَحٌ حَتّٰى تَقْلِبَنِىْ اِلَيْكَ بِاِرَادَتِكَ
and is not charmed by a joyful situation, until You decide to take me to You by Your will
یہاں تک کہ تو مجھے اپنی بارگاہ میں واپس بلا لے۔
غَيْرَ ظَنِيْنٍ وَلَامَظْنُوْنٍ
while I am neither accused, suspect,
نہ کوئی بدگمانی ہو، نہ کوئی غلط خیال ہو،
وَلَا مُرَابٍ وَ لَا مُرْتَابٍ
suspicious, nor doubtful.
نہ کوئی شک ہو اور نہ شبہ ہو
اِنَّكَ اَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ۔
Verily, You are the most merciful of all those who show mercy.
اس لیے کہ تو بہترین رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
In his book entitled Muhaj al-Da’awat, Sayyid Ibn Tawus has compiled the Holy Imams’ supplications in the ritual prayers (i.e. qunut). However, to avoid lengthiness, I have mentioned the previous supplication only.
