رقعة الحبیب
Sixth: Yasir, the servant of al-Ma’mun the ‘Abbasid ruler, has reported that when Imam Abu’l-Hasan ‘Ali ibn Musa al-Rida (‘a) arrived in the palace of Hamid ibn Qahtabah to live in, he took off his shirt and handed it over to Hamid, who took it and gave it to one of his she-servants to wash it. Soon after that, the she-servant returned carrying a patch. She gave it to Hamid and said, “I have found this in the pocket of Abu’l-Hasan.”
Asking about it, Hamid said to Imam al-Rida (‘a), “May Allah accept me as ransom for you! The she-servant has found a patch in your pocket. What is it?”
Answering him, the Imam (‘a) said, “Hamid, this is a supplicatory amulet that I never put aside.”
Hamid said, “Will you kindly honor us with it?”
Imam al-Rida (‘a) further explained, “Whoever carries this supplicatory amulet in his pocket, will be saved from tribulations and it will protect him from Satan the accursed.”
Then, Imam al-Rida (‘a) dictated its form to Hamid. It is thus the following:
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the Name of Allah; the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
خدا کے نام سے جو بڑا رحم والا مہربان ہے
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ
In the Name of Allah.
خدا کے نام سے
اِنِّىْۤ اَعُوْذُ بِالرَّحْمٰنِ مِنْكَ اِنْ كُنْتَ تَقِيًّا
Surely, I seek refuge in the Beneficent Allah from you, if you are pious
بے شک میں تجھ سے خدا کی پناہ لیتا ہوں اگر تو پرہیزگار ہے
اَوْ غَيْرَ تَقِىٍّ اَخَذْتُ بِاللّٰهِ السَّمِيْعِ الْبَصِيْرِ
or impious.
یا پرہیزگار نہیں ہے میں نے سننے دیکھنے والے خدا کے ذریعے سے
عَلٰى سَمْعِكَ وَ بَصَرِكَ
I seek Allah the Allhearing and All-seeing
تیرے کانوں اور آنکھوں کو باندھ دیا ہے
لَا سُلْطَانَ لَكَ عَلَىَّ
to guard me against your hearing and your sight.
اب نہ مجھ پر تیرا کوئی بس ہے
وَ لَا عَلٰى سَمْعِىْ
You have authority neither over me,
نہ میرے کانوں پر
وَلَا عَلٰى بَصَرِىْ
nor over my hearing,
نہ میری آنکھوں پر
وَلَاعَلٰى شَعْرِىْ
nor over my sight,
نہ میرے بالوں پر
وَلَاعَلٰى بَشَرِىْ
nor over my hair,
نہ میرے پوست پر
وَلَا عَلٰى لَحْمِىْ
nor over my skin,
نہ میرےگوشت پر
وَلَا عَلٰى دَمِىْ
nor over my flesh,
نہ میرےخون پر
وَلَا عَلٰى مُخِّىْ
nor over my blood,
نہ میرے مغز پر
وَلَا عَلٰى عَصَبِىْ
nor over my brain,
نہ میرے پٹھوں پر
وَلَا عَلٰى عِظَامِىْ
nor over my veins,
نہ میری ہڈیوں پر تیرا بس ہے
وَلَاعَلٰى مَالِىْ
nor over my bones,
نہ میرے مال پر
وَ لَا عَلٰى مَا رَزَقَنِىْ رَبِّىْ
nor over my property,
اور نہ میرے رب کی دی ہوئی چیزوں پر تیرا کوئی بس ہے
سَتَرْتُ بَيْنِىْ وَ بَيْنَكَ بِسِتْرِ النُّبُوَّةِ
nor over what my Lord has provided me.
میں نے پردہ ڈال دیا ہے اپنے اور تیرے درمیان، نبوت کے پردے سے
الَّذِى اسْتَتَرَ اَنْبِيَاۤءُ اللّٰهِ بِهِ
I block between you and me with the blockage of prophecy
جس سے خدا کے نبیوں نے خود کو ڈھانپا تھا
مِنْ سَطَوَاتِ الْجَبَابِرَةِ وَالْفَرَاعِنَةِ
with which the prophets of Allah blocked
سخت گیروں اور فرعونوں کے حملوں سے
جَبْرَئِيْلُ عَنْ يَمِيْنِىْ
against the sways of the tyrants and the oppressive rules.
چنانچہ جبرائیلؑ میری داہنی طرف
وَ مِيْكَاۤئِيْلُ عَنْ يَسَارِىْ
Gabriel is to my right side,
اور میکائیلؑ میری بائیں طرف
وَ اِسْرَافِيْلُ عَنْ وَرَاۤئِىْ
Michael to my left side,
اسرافیلؑ میری پچھلی طرف
وَ مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ
Seraph to my backside,
اور محمد رسول ﷲ ﷺ
وَ اٰلِهٖ اَمَامِىْ
Muhammad, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Household, to my front side,
میرے آگے ہیں
وَاللّٰهُ مُطَّلِعٌ عَلَىَّ
and Allah is overseeing me
خدا میرا نگہدار ہے
يَمْنَعُكَ مِنِّىْ
to prevent you from me
وہ مجھے تجھ سے دور کرے گا
وَ يَمْنَعُ الشَّيْطَانَ مِنِّىْۤ
and prevent Satan from me.
اورشیطان کو مجھ سے ہٹائے گا
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا يَغْلِبُ جَهْلُهُ اَنَاتَكَ
O Allah, let not his intolerance overcome Your forbearance
اے معبود! اس کی نادانی تیرے حوصلے پرغالب نہ ہو
اَنْ يَسْتَفِزَّنِىْ وَ يَسْتَخِفَّنِىْ
lest he may provoke and belittle me.
کہ وہ مجھ پر چڑھ آئے اور مجھے خوار کرے
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِلَيْكَ الْتَجَاْتُ
O Allah, to You do I resort.
اے معبود! میں تیری پناہ میں ہوں
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِلَيْكَ الْتَجَاْتُ
O Allah, to You do I resort.
اے معبود! میں تیری پناہ میں ہوں
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِلَيْكَ الْتَجَاْتُ۔
O Allah, to You do I resort.
اے معبود! میں تیری پناہ میں ہوں۔
