سانپ اور بچھو سے بچنے کا تعویذ
To fend off the stings of scorpions, it is recommended to look sharply at the suha star (a dim star in Ursa Minor) and repeat the following supplicatory prayer three times:
اَللّٰهُمَّ رَبَّ اَسْلَمَ
O Allah, O Lord of Aslam,
اے معبود! اے بہت سلامتی والے رب
صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
(please) send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر رحمت نازل فرما
وَّ عَجِّلْ فَرَجَهُمْ
hasten their Relief,
ان کی کشائش وآسائش میں جلدی کر
وَ سَلِّمْنَا مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ ذِىْ شَرٍّ۔
and keep us sound against the evil of all evil things.
اور ہمیں ہر تکلیف دینے والے کے شر سے بچا۔
It is also reported that one (who intends to evade the stings and bites of scorpions and snakes) may look at this star and repeat the following supplicatory prayer three times:
اَللّٰهُمَّ رَبَّ هُوْدِ ابْنِ اُسَيَّةَ
O Allah, O Lord of Hud the son of Usayyah,
اے معبود! اے ہودؑ ابن آسیہ کے پروردگار
اٰمِنِّى شَرَّ كُلِّ عَقْرَبٍ وَ حَيَّةٍ۔
(please) secure me against the evil of all scorpions and serpents.
مجھے امان میں رکھ ہر بچھو اور سانپ کے شر سے
Imam al-Sadiq(a.s.) is also reported to have advised the following supplicatory prayer to be said at evening for fending off the stings and bites of scorpions and serpents:
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ وَ بِاللّٰهِ
In the Name of Allah and in Allah (I trust).
خدا کے نام سے اور اس کی ذات سے
وَ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِهٖ
May Allah bless Muhammad and his Household.
اور خدا رحمت فرمائے محمد ؐاور ان کی آلؑ پر
اَخَذْتُ الْعَقَارِبَ وَالْحَيَّاتِ كُلَّهَا
I dispel all scorpions and serpents
پکڑ لیا میں نے تمام بچھوؤں اور سانپوں کو
بِاِذْنِ اللّٰهِ تَبارَكَ وَ تَعَالٰى
by the permission of Allah, the All-blessed and All-exalted
خدا کے اذن سے جو بابرکت اور بلندی والا ہے
بِاَفْوَاهِهَا وَ اَذْنَابِهَا
with their mouths, tails
ان کے مُنہوں سے ان کی دُموں سے
وَ اَسْمَاعِهَا وَ اَبْصَارِهَا
hearings, sights,
ان کے کانوں سے ان کی آنکھوں سے
وَ قُوَاهَا عَنِّىْ وَ عَمَّنْ اَحْبَبْتُ
and powers from me and from those whom I love
اور ان کی قوتوں کو خود سے اور ان سے جن کو پیارا سمجھتا ہوں
اِلٰى ضَحْوَةِ النَّهَارِ
up to the light of the day
دن کے طلوع کرنے تک
اِنْشَاۤءَاللّٰهُ تَعَالٰى۔
if Allah the All-exalted permits.
اگر اللہ تعالیٰ یہ چا ہے
To protect oneself against scorpions, it is recommended to recite the following holy verses:
سَلَامٌ عَلٰى نُوْحٍ فِى الْعَالَمِيْنَ
“Peace to Noah among the nations.
سلام ہو نوحؑ پر اور تمام جہانوں میں
اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجْزِى الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ
Thus do We surely reward the doers of good.
بے شک ہم نیکو کاروں کو اسی طرح جزا دیتے ہیں
اِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ۔
Surely, he was of Our believing servants.
یقیناً وہ ہمارے صاحب ِایمان بندوں میں تھا۔
It is also reported that when Prophet Noah (a.s.) embarked in the Ark, he refused to take the scorpion with him. Hence, the scorpion said to Prophet Noah (a.s.), “I take upon myself that I will never sting one who says these words:
سَلَامٌ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
Peace to Muhammad, the Household of Muhammad,
سلام ہو حضرت محمد مصطفیٰؐ پر اور ان کی آلؑ پر
وَّ عَلٰى نُوْحٍ فِى الْعَالَمِيْنَ۔
and to Noah among the nations.
اور حضرت نوحؑ پر تمام جہانوں میں
According to many traditions, to rub the places stung by scorpions and other insects with salt removes the effect of poison.
