نظر بد کا تعویذ
To fend off the evil eyes, it is reported to recite verse No. 51 of Surah al-Qalam (No. 68):
وَاِنْ يَّكَادُ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا
“And lo! Those who disbelieve
اور یہ کفّار قرآن کو سنتے ہیں
لَيُزْلِقُوْنَكَ بِاَبْصَارِهِمْ
would fain disconcert you with their eyes
تو ایسا لگتا ہے کہ عنقریب آپ کو نظروں سے پھسلادیں گے
لَمَّا سَمِعُوْا الذِّكْرَ
when they hear the Reminder,
اور یہ کہتے ہیں
وَيَقُوْلُوْنَ اِنَّهُ لَمَجْنُوْنٌ۔
and they say: ،Lo! He is indeed mad.’
کہ یہ تو دیوانے ہیں
Imam al-Sadiq(a.s.) is reported to have said: Once you fear lest you will be affected by an evil eye or you may affect others with it, you may repeat the following statement three times:
مَا شَاۤءَاللّٰهُ
Only what Allah wills (shall come to pass).
وہی ہوتا ہے جو خدا چاہے
لَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللّٰهِ الْعَلِىِّ الْعَظِيْمِ۔
There is no power save with Allah, the Most High and Allgreat.
نہیں کوئی قوّت مگر جو خدائے بلند بزرگ تر سے ہے۔
It is also reported that whoever puts on an attractive attire, should recite Surah al-Falaq and Surah al-Nas before leaving his house. If he does, nothing will harm him by the permission of Almighty Allah.
To fend off the evil eyes, you may raise your hand to the level of your face, recite Surah al-Faatehah, Surah al-Falaq, and Surah al-Nas, and rub your forelocks with your hands.
The following supplicatory amulet may be said to fend off the evil eyes:
اَللّٰهُمَّ رَبَّ مَطَرٍ حَابِسٍ
O Allah; O Lord of pouring rainwater,
اے خدا جو بارش کا،
وَ حَجَرٍ يَّابِسٍ
solid rocks,
پتھر کا،
وَّ لَيْلٍ دَامِسٍ
dusky night,
تاریک رات کا،
وَّ رَطْبٍ وَّ يَابِسٍ
and wet and dry things,
اور رطب و یابس کا اور خشک وتر کا پروردگار ہے۔
رُدَّ عَيْنَ الْعَايِنِ عَلَيْهِ فِىْ كَبِدِهِ
(please) repel the evil eye of the observer to his liver,
نظر لگانے والے کی نظر کو اس کے جگر
وَ نَحْرِهِ وَ مَالِهِ
neck, and property.
اس کی گردن اور اس کے مال پر لوٹا دے
فَارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ هَلْ تَرٰى مِنْ فُطُوْرٍ
“Then look again: Can you see any rifts?
پس نظر اٹھا کے دیکھ بھلا تجھے شگاف نظر آتا ہے
ثُمَّ ارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيْنِ
Then, look again and yet again,
پھر دوبارہ آنکھ اٹھا کے دیکھ
يَنْقَلِبْ اِلَيْكَ الْبَصَرُ خَاسِئًا وَّ هُوَ حَسِيْرٌ۔
your sight will return to you weakened and made dim.
ہر بار تیری نظر تھک ہار کر تیری طرف پلٹ آئے گی۔
Another supplicatory amulet against evil eyes is the following:
اَللّٰهُمَّ ذَا السُّلْطَانِ الْعَظِيْمِ
O Allah, Lord of great authority,
اے صاحبِ سلطنتِ عظیم
وَالْمَنِّ الْقَدِيْمِ
eternal bestowals,
اے صاحبِ احسانِ قدیم،
وَالْوَجْهِ الْكَرِيْمِ
and Noble Face,
اے صاحبِ مجدِ کریم،
ذَا الْكَلِمَاتِ التَّآمَّاتِ
and Lord of perfect words
اے تام و کامل کلمات والے
وَالدَّعَوَاتِ الْمُسْتَجَابَاتِ
and responded prayers,
اور مستجاب دعاؤں والے
عَافِ فُلَانًا مِّنْ اَنْفُسِ الْجِنِّ
(Please) cure [so-and-so] from the breaths of jinn
خدا ہر انسان کو جن و انس کے شر سے نجات دے دے
Having applied this supplicatory amulet to Imam al-Hasan and Imam al-Husayn (a.s.), the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) said to his companions, “Apply this supplicatory amulet to your children.”
وَ اَعْيُنِ الْاِنْسِ۔
and (evil) eyes of human beings.
اور انسانوں کی نظروں سے بچا
To protect the animals and other things from the evil eyes, Imam Ali(a.s.) is reported to have advised of using this supplicatory amulet:
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
خدا کے نام سے جو بڑا رحم کرنے والا مہربان ہے
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الْعَظِيْمِ
خدائےبزرگ کے نام سے
عَبَسَ عَابِسٍ
تندرو کی تندروئی
وَّ شَهَابَ قَابِسٍ
جلتے ہوئے انگارے
حَجَرَ يَابِسٍ
اور خشک پتھر پر دے ماری ہے
رَدَدْتُ عَيْنَالْعَايِنِ عَلَيْهِ
میں نظر لگانے والے کی آنکھ
مِنْ رَّاۤءْسِهِ اِلٰى قَدَمَيْهِ
اس کے سر سے اس کے پاؤ ں تک پکڑ لیں
اَخَذَ عَيْنَاهُ
اس کی دونوں آنکھیں
قَابِضٌ بِكَلَاِهِ
جس نے ان کو پکڑ لیا ان کو پلٹا دیا
وَ عَلٰى جَارِهِ وَاَقَارِبِهِ
اس کے ہمسائے اور عزیزوں پر
جِلْدُهُ دَقِيْقٌ
اس کی کمزورجلد
وَّ دَمُهُ رَقِيْقٌ
اور پتلے خون پر
وَ بَابُ الْمَكْرُوْهِ تَلِيْقُ
اور بدی کے دروازے پر
فَارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ هَلْ تَرٰى مِنْ فُطُوْرٍ
جو اس کے لیے ہے پس نظر اٹھا کے دیکھ، کیا تجھے کوئی شگاف نظر آتا ہے؟
ثُمَّ ارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيْنِ
پھر باربار نظر اٹھا کر اوپر کو دیکھتا رہ
يَنْقَلِبْ اِلَيْكَ الْبَصَرُ خَاسِئًا وَّ هُوَ حَسِيْرٌ۔
لیکن تیری نگاہیں بری طرح سے تھکی ہاری ہوئی تیری طرف پلٹ آئیں گی
