آداب بیت الخلاء
If you wish to offer a prayer and need to go to toilet, you may begin with the latter. There are many reported etiquettes of going to toilet. However, I will hereinafter mention some of them briefly:
You may precede your left foot to the right when entering the water closet (or the place where you excrete) and say the following:
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ وَبِاللّٰهِ
In the Name of Allah (I begin) and in Allah (I trust).
خدا کے نام اور خدا کی ذات کے ذریعے
اَعُوْذُ بِاللّٰهِ مِنَ الرِّجْسِ النَّجِسِ
I pray Allah’s protection against the filthy, the impure,
خدا کی پناہ لیتا ہوں ناپاک غلیظ،
الْخَبِيْثِ الْمُخْبِثِ
the wicked, and the source of wickedness;
گندے اور گندہ کرنے والے
الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيْمِ۔
namely, Satan the accursed.
دھتکارے ہوئے شیطان سے
When you try to take off, you may utter the BISMILLAH
At such a situation, and all similar situations, you must try to cover your private parts, letting nobody see them. It is haram (i.e. religiously unlawful) to sit, for excretion, facing the kiblah direction or giving it one’s back.
While excreting, it is recommended to say the following:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَطْعِمْنِىْ طَيِّبًا فِىْ عَافِيَةٍ
O Allah, (please) nourish me pleasant food in wellbeing
خدایا مجھے پاکیزہ غذا دے عافیت کے ساتھ
وَاَخْرِجْهُ مِنِّىْ خَبِيْثًا فِىْ عَافِيَةٍ۔
and make me excrete it repulsive in wellbeing.
اور اسے جسم سے باہر نکال دے جب یہ خبیث ہو جائے اور وہ بھی عافیت کے ساتھ -
If your sight falls on the excrement, you may say the following:
اَللّٰهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِى الْحَلَالَ
O Allah, (please) provide me with the legally gotten (sustenance)
خدایا ہمیں رزق حلال عطا فرما
وَجَنِّبْنِى الْحَرَامَ۔
and keep me away from the illegally gotten.
اور حرام سے پر ہیز کی توفیق دے ۔
When you finish and want to clean yourself, you may first of all try to make sure that you have discharged the entire waste. Then, you may say the supplicatory prayer that is said when one’s eye falls on water:
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ جَعَلَ الْمَاۤءَ طَهُوْرًا
All praise be to Allah Who has made water pure
حمد ہے خدا کے لیے جس نے پانی کو پاکیزہ بنایا
وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْهُ نَجِسًا۔
but has not made it impure.
اور اُسے ناپاک نہیں بنایا۔
While cleaning yourself from the waste, you may say the following:
اَللّٰهُمَّ حَصِّنْ فَرْجِىْ وَاَعِفَّهُ
O Allah, make me guard my chastity, chasten me,
خدایا میری شرمگاہ کی حفاظت فرما، عفّت عطا فرما،
وَاسْتُرْ عَوْرَتِىْ
cover my private parts,
میری پردہ پوشی فرما
وَحَرِّمْنِىْ عَلَى النَّارِ۔
and forbid Hellfire from consuming me.
اور میرے جسم کو جہنّم پر حرام کردے۔
When you finish and stand up, you may rub your abdomen with your right hand and say the following:
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ اَمَاطَ عَنِّىَ الْاَذَىٰ
All praise be to Allah Who has warded off harm from me,
ساری تعریف اس اللہ کے لیے ہے جس نے ہم سے اذیّتوں کو دور کیا،
وَهَنَّاَنِىْ طَعَامِىْ وَشَرَابِىْ
made me find the pleasure of my food and drink,
کھانے پینے کو ہمارے لیے خوشگوار بنایا
وَعَافَانِىْ مِنَ الْبَلْوَىٰ۔
and freed me from plague.
اور ہر بلا سے نجات دی۔
You may then leave the water closet (or the place where you have excreted), preceding your right foot to the left and saying the following:
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ عَرَّفَنِىْ لَذَّتَهُ
All praise be to Allah Who has made me find its pleasure,
ساری تعریف اس اللہ کے لیے جس نے کھانے کی لذّت سے آشنا کیا۔
وَاَبْقَىٰ فِىْ جَسَدِىْ قُوَّتَهُ
kept in my body its power,
اس کی طاقت کو جسم میں باقی رکھا
وَاَخْرَجَ عَنِّىْ اَذَاهُ
and discharged its harm from me.
اور فاضل حصّہ کو با ہر نکال دیا۔
يَا لَهَا نِعْمَةً
How a pleasant bliss it is!
کیا کہنا نعمت پروردگار کا،
يَا لَهَا نِعْمَةً
How a pleasant bliss it is!
کیا کہنا نعمت الہی کا
يَا لَهَا نِعْمَةً
How a pleasant bliss it is!
کیا خوب نعمت ہے۔
لَا يُقَدِّرُ الْقَادِرُوْنَ قَدْرَهَا۔
No estimators can assign its value.
یہ وہ شئی ہے جس پر کوئی قادر نہیں ۔
