تعقیبات نماز عشا
As quoted from Misbah al-Mutahajjid
Subsequent to the Evening Prayer, you are recommended to say the following supplicatory prayer, as is quoted from Misbah al-Mutahajjid:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّهُ لَيْسَ لِيْ عِلْمٌ بِمَوْضِعِ رِزْقِيْ
O Allah! verily, I lack acquaintance with the place of my sustenance;
خدایا مجھے نہیں معلوم ہے کہ میرے رزق کی منزل کیا ہے۔
وَ اِنَّمَا اَطْلُبُهُ بِخَطَرَاتٍ تَخْطُرُ عَلٰى قَلْبِيْ
rather, I am seeking it owing to ideas that come upon my mind.
میں تو صرف ان خیالات کے پیچھے دوڑتا رہا جو میرے دل میں پیدا ہوتے ہیں،
فَاَجُوْلُ فِي طَلَبِهِ الْبُلْدَانَ
I consequently wander in countries searching for it.
چنانچہ اس راہ میں شہر شہر کے چکر لگاتا ہوں
فَاَنَا فِيْمَا اَنَا طَالِبٌ كَالْحَيْرَانِ
By doing such, I am as confused as the confounded,
اور میں اپنے مقصود کے لئے حیران و پریشان ہوں۔
لَاۤ اَدْرِيْ اَ فِي سَهْلٍ هُوَ اَمْ فِيْ جَبَلٍ
since I do not know whether my sustenance lies in a plain, on a mountain,
مجھے نہیں معلوم ہے کہ میرا رزق صحرا میں ہے یا پہاڑ پر،
اَمْ فِي اَرْضٍ اَمْ فِي سَمَاۤءٍ
on the ground, in the air,
زمین میں ہے یا آسمان پر،
اَمْ فِي بَرٍّ اَمْ فِي بَحْرٍ
on lands, in seas,
خشکی میں ہے یا دریا میں
وَ عَلٰى يَدَيْ مَنْ
at whose hands,
کس کے ہاتھوں میں ہے،
وَ مِنْ قِبَلِ مَنْ
or who the source of it is.
کس کی طرف سے آنے والا ہے۔
وَ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ اَنَّ عِلْمَهُ عِنْدَكَ
I have full knowledge that You know all these,
ہاں یہ جانتا ہوں کہ اس کا علم تیرے پاس ہے
وَ اَسْبَابَهُ بِيَدِكَ
the causes of them are in Your Hands,
اور اس کے سباب بھی تیرے ہی ہاتھوں میں ہے۔
وَ اَنْتَ الَّذِيْ تَقْسِمُهُ بِلُطْفِكَ
and it is You Who distribute it out of Your compassion
تو ہی اپنے لطف سے اسے تقسیم کرتا ہے
وَ تُسَبِّبُهُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ
and cause it out of Your mercy.
اور اپنی رحمت سے اس کے اسباب پیدا کرتا ہے۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِهِ
O Allah, please send blessings to Muhammad and his Household
خدایا محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر رحمت نازل فرما
وَ اجْعَلْ يَا رَبِّ رِزْقَكَ لِيْ وَاسِعًا
and make, O Lord, Your sustenance that is provided (by You) to me expansive,
اور اپنے رزق کو میرے لئے وسیع بنا دے،
وَ مَطْلَبَهُ سَهْلًا
my seeking for it easy for me,
اس کے طلب کو آسان کر دے۔
وَ مَأْخَذَهُ قَرِيْبًا
and its source close to me.
اس کے مرکز کو قریب تر بنا دے
وَ لَا تُعَنِّنِي بِطَلَبِ مَا لَمْ تُقَدِّرْ لِي فِيْهِ رِزْقًا
Please, do not fatigue me by seeking that which You have not decided for me to take,
اور مجھے ایسے کسی رزق کی جستجو کی زحمت میں نہ ڈال دینا جو تو نے میرے لئے مقرر نہیں کیا ہے
فَاِنَّكَ غَنِيٌّ عَنْ عَذَابِيْ [عَنَاۤئِي]
because You are certainly in no need for tormenting me
اس لئے کہ تو میرے عذاب سے بےنیاز ہے
وَ اَنَا فَقِيْرٌ اِلٰى رَحْمَتِكَ
while I am in full need for Your mercy.
اور میں تیری رحمت کا محتاج ہوں۔
فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِهِ
(Please) Send blessings upon Muhammad and his Household
خدایا محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر رحمت نازل فرما
وَ جُدْ عَلٰى عَبْدِكَ بِفَضْلِكَ
and confer liberally upon me, Your slave, out of Your graciousness.
اور فضل و کرم سے اپنے بندہ پر مہربانی فرما
اِنَّكَ ذُوْ فَضْلٍ عَظِيْمٍ۔
You are surely the Lord of great favor.
کہ تو صاحب فضل عظیم ہے۔
It is worth mentioning that the abovementioned supplication is one of the supplications restricted to seeking sustenance.
THE WUTAYRAH PRAYER
Upon accomplishment of the Evening Prayer, it is recommended to recite Surah al-Qadr (No. 97) seven times and offer the Wutayrah supererogatory (mustahab / nafilah) prayer, which consists of two units and should be offered in the position of sitting by reciting one hundred verses of the Holy Qur’an in both the units. Hence, it is recommended to recite Surah al-Waqiah (No. 56) in the first unit and Surah al-Tawheed in the second.
