دعائے عافیت
Quoting Misbah al-Mutahajjid, al-Kaf’ami has reported that whoever is ailed, may say the following supplicatory prayer in the second prostration of the first two units of the Night Prayer:
يَا عَلِىُّ يَا عَظِيْمُ
O Most High! O Allgreat!
اے خدائے علی عظیم
يَا رَحْمٰنُ يَا رَحِيْمُ
O All-beneficent! O All-merciful!
اے رحمن و رحیم ،
يَا سَمِيْعَ الدَّعَوَاتِ
O Hearer of all prayers!
اے دعاؤں کے سننے والے
يَا مُعْطِىَ الْخَيْرَاتِ
O Giver of the good things!
نیکیوں کے عطا کرنے والے
صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِهٖ
(Please) bless Muhammad and his Household,
محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر رحمت نازل فرما
وَاَعْطِنِىْ مِنْ خَيْرِ الدُّنْيَا وَالْاٰخِرَةِ مَا اَنْتَ اَهْلُهُ
give me from the good of this world and the Next World in the amount that fits You,
اور دنیا و آخرت کی وہ تمام نیکیاں مجھے عطا فرما جس کا تو اہل ہے
وَاصْرِفْ عَنِّىْ مِنْ شَرِّ الدُّنْيَا وَالْاٰخِرَةِ مَا اَنْتَ اَهْلُهُ
dispel from me the evils of this world and the Next World in the way that fits You,
اور ان تمام برائیوں کو مجھ سے دور کر دے جس طرح تو دور کرنے کا اہل ہے۔
وَ اَذْهِبْ عَنِّیْ هٰذَا الْوَجَعَ۔
and remove from me this ailment...
خصوصیت کے ساتھ میری اس بیماری سے مجھے نجات عطا فرما۔
The disease or ailment may be now mentioned
فَاِنَّهُ قَدْ غَاظَنِىْ وَ اَحْزَنَنِىْ۔
for it has enraged and depressed me.
کیوں کہ وہ مجھے تکلیف دیتا ہے اور غمگین کرتا ہے۔
It is recommended to supplicate earnestly, because the more earnest the sooner in response.
Quoted from ‘Uddat al-DAI, Imam al-Sadiq(a.s.) is reported to have said:
When you are ailed, go outdoors, raise your hands towards the sky, and say the following supplicatory prayer:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّكَ عَيَّرْتَ اَقْوَامًا فِىْ كِتَابِكَ
O Allah! Having rebuked some people in Your Book,
خدایا تو نے اپنی کتاب میں بہت سی قوموں کی سرزنش کی ہے
فَقُلْتَ :(قُلِ ادْعُوْا الَّذِيْنَ زَعَمْتُمْ مِنْ دُوْنِهِ
You said, “Say, ‘Call on those whom you assert besides Him.
یہ کہہ کر کہ بلاؤ۔۔۔۔ میرے علاوہ جو تمھارے کوئی اولیاء ہوں
فَلَا يَمْلِكُوْنَ كَشْفَ الضُّرِّ عَنْكُمْ وَلَا تَحْوِيْلًا
They shall not control the removal of distress from you nor its transference.’”
کہ تم سے کسی مصیبت کو دور نہیں کر سکتے نہ تمھارے حالات کو بدل سکتے ہیں ۔
فَيَا مَنْ لَا يَمْلِكُ كَشْفَ ضُرِّىْ وَ لَا تَحْوِيْلَهُ عَنِّىْ اَحَدٌ غَيْرُهُ
O He save Whom no one controls the removal of distress nor its transference,
اے وہ خدا کہ جس کے علاوہ کوئی نہ برائیوں کو دور کر سکتا ہے اور نہ حالات بدل سکتا ہے
صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِهٖ
(please) bless Muhammad and his Household,
محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر رحمت نازل فرما،
وَاكْشِفْ ضُرِّىْ
remove my distress
میرے رنجِ غم کو دور فرما
وَحَوِّلْهُ اِلٰى مَنْ يَّدْعُوْ مَعَكَ اِلٰهًا اٰخَرَ
and transfer it to one who calls on another deity besides You,
اور میرے حالات کو بہترین حالات کی طرف موڑ دے
فَاِنِّىْ اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لَّا اِلٰهَ غَيْرُكَ۔
for I bear witness that there is no god save You.
اس لیے کہ میں اس بات کی گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ تیرے علاوہ کوئی دوسرا خدا نہیں ہے ۔
It is also reported that any believer who is diseased or ailed, should rub the ailed organ with his hand and repeat the following (holy verse) with sincerity:
وَ نُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْاٰنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاۤءٌ وَ رَحْمَةٌ لِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
“[And] We reveal of the Qur'an that which is a healing and a mercy for believers
اور جو نازل کیا گیا قرآن سے اور وہ مومنین کے لیے شفا و رحمت ہے
وَلَا يَزِيْدُ الظَّالِمِيْنَ اِلَّا خَسَارًا۔
though it increase the evil-doers in naught save ruin.”
اور ظالمین کے لیے خسارہ میں اضافہ کےعلاوہ کچھ نہ ہوگا
If he does, he will be restored to health no matter what his disease would be. Confirming this, the holy verse corroborates that it carries healing and mercy to the believers.
