دعائے عدیلہ
The Supplication for saving from deviation.
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
بنام خدائے رحمان و رحیم
شَهِدَ اللهُ اَنَّهُ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ
“Allah bears witness that there is no god but He,
اللہ خود اس بات کا گواہ ہے کہ اس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے۔
وَالْمَلَاۤئِكَةُ وَاُوْلُوْا الْعِلْمِ
and (so do) the angels and those possessed of knowledge,
ملائکہ اور صاحبانِ علم بھی گواہ ہیں
قَاۤئِمًا بِالْقِسْطِ
maintaining His creation with justice;
وہ عدل کے ساتھ قیام کرنے والا ہے۔
لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُ،
there is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise.
خدائے عزیز و حکیم کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے۔
اِنَّ الدِّيْنَ عِنْدَ اللهِ الْاِسْلَامُ،
Surely, the (true) religion with Allah is Islam.”
دین اللہ کے نزدیک صرف اسلام ہے۔
وَاَنَا الْعَبْدُ الضَّعِيْفٌ الْمُذْنِبُ
I am the slave—feeble, sinful,
میں اس کا بندۂ ضعیف و
الْعَاصِىُ الْمُحْتَاجُ الْحَقِيْرُ،
disobedient, needy, and ignoble—
گنہگار و خطاکار و محتاج و حقیر ہوں۔
اَشْهَدُ لِمُنْعِمِىْ وَخَالِقِىْ
I testify to my Benefactor, Creator,
میں گواہی دیتا ہوں اپنے منعم، اپنے خالق،
وَرَازِقِىْ وَمُكْرِمِىْ
Provider of me with my sustenance, and my Honorer,
اپنے رازق اور اپنے کرامت دینے والے کے حق میں
كَمَا شَهِدَ لِذَاتِهِ
as same as He has testified to Himself
جیسے خود اس نے اپنے عظمت کی گواہی دی ہے
وَشَهِدَتْ لَهُ الْمَلَاۤئِكَةُ
and the angels have testified to Him
اور گواہی دی ہے اس کے ملائکہ
وَاُوْلُوْ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ
so have those possessed with knowledge amongst His servants
اور صاحبِ علم بندوں نے
بِاَنَّهُ لَا اِلٰـهَ اِلَّا هُوَ
that there is no god save Him
اس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے۔
ذُوْ النِّعَمِ وَالْاِحْسَانِ
the Lord of bounties, favors,
وہ صاحبِ عزّت و احسان
وَالْكَرَمِ وَالْاِمْتِنَانِ،
generosity, and kindness.
اور صاحبِ کرم و انعام ہے۔
قَادِرٌ اَزَلِىٌّ،
He is Omnipotent, Eternal,
وہ قادرِ ازلی ہے
عَالِمٌ اَبَدِىٌّ،
All-knowing, Everlasting,
اور عالِم ابدی ہے۔
حَىٌّ اَحَدِىٌّ،
Ever-living, One and Only,
وہ حیّ احد ہے
مَوْجُوْدٌ سَرْمَدِىٌّ،
Self-existent, Endless,
اور موجود سرمدی ہے۔
سَمِيْعٌ بَصِيْرٌ
All-hearing, All-Seeing,
وہ سننے والا، دیکھنے والا،
مُرِيْدٌ كَارِهٌ
Willing, Discriminating,
ارادہ کرنے والا، نفرت کرنے والا،
مُدْرِكٌ صَمَدِىٌّ،
All-aware, and eternally Besought of all.
ہر ایک کو گرفت میں رکھنے والا اور بے نیاز ہے۔
يَسْتَحِقُّ هٰذِهِ الصِّفَاتِ
He is worthy of all these attributes,
وہ اپنے تمام صفات کا حق دار ہے
وَهُوَ عَلٰى مَا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ فِىْ عِزِّ صِفَاتِهِ،
and He, characterized by all these sublime attributes,
اور وہ اپنے جملہ صفات کمال کی منزل پر خود ہی فائز ہے۔
كَانَ قَوِيًّا قَبْلَ وُجُوْدِ الْقُدْرَةِ وَالْقُوَّةِ،
was All-powerful prior to the existence of might and power,
قدرت و قوّت کے وجود سے پہلے سے قوی ہے
وَكَانَ عَلِيْمًا قَبْلَ اِيْجَادِ الْعِلْمِ وَالْعِلَّةِ،
and All-knowing before the origination of knowledge and reason.
اور علم و علّت کے ایجاد کے پہلے سے صاحبِ علم ہے،
لَمْ يَزَلْ سُلْطَانًا اِذْ لَا مَمْلَكَةَ وَلَا مَالَ،
He has been always Authority when there was neither sovereignty nor wealth.
اس وقت بھی سلطان تھا جب کسی مملکت یا مال کا وجود نہیں تھا
وَلَمْ يَزَلْ سُبْحَانًا عَلٰى جَمِيْعِ الْاَحْوَالِ
He has been always Glorious under all circumstances.
اور ہمیشہ ہر حال میں بے نیاز رہے گا۔
وُجُوْدُهُ قَبْلَ الْقَبْلِ فِىْ اَزَلِ الْاٰزَالِ
His Being is before all precedence in the preeternity of sempiternity.
اس کا وجودِ ازل میں قبل سے قبل تھا اور ابد میں بعد کے بعد تک رہے گا۔
وَبَقَاۤؤُهُ بَعْدَ الْبَعْدِ مِنْ غَيْرِ اِنْتِقَالٍ وَلَا زَوَالٍ،
His Remaining will be after all endings without any extinction or disappearance.
نہ اس میں کوئی تغیّر ہے اور نہ کوئی زوال۔
غَنِىٌّ فِى الْاَوَّلِ وَالْاٰخِرِ،
He is self-Sufficient at the beginning and at the end
وہ ابتدا اور انتہا ہر منزل پر بے نیاز ہے۔
مُسْتَغْنٍ فِى الْبَاطِنِ وَالظَّاهِرِ،
and All-independent inwardly and outwardly.
ظاہر و باطن ہر جگہ غنی مطلق ہے۔
لَا جَوْرَ فِىْ قَضِيَّتِهِ
There is no injustice in His Judgement,
نہ اس کے فیصلہ میں کوئی ظلم ہے
وَلَا مَيْلَ فِىْ مَشِيَّتِهِ،
nor is there unfairness in His management,
اور نہ اس کی مشیّت میں کوئی کجی ہے،
وَلَا ظُلْمَ فِىْ تَقْدِيْرِهِ
nor is there unfairness in His administration,
نہ اس کی تقدیر سازی میں کوئی زیادتی ہے
وَلَا مَهْرَبَ مِنْ حُكُوْمَتِهِ،
nor is there any escape from His sovereignty,
اور نہ اس کی حکومت سے بھاگنے کا کوئی امکان ہے
وَلَا مَلْجَاَ مِنْ سَطَوَاتِهِ
nor is there any shelter against His firm grip,
نہ اس کی سطوت سے کوئی پناہ گاہ ہے
وَلَا مَنْجَا مِنْ نَقِمَاتِهِ،
nor is there any salvation from His punishment.
اور نہ اس کے انتقام سے کوئی منزل نجات۔
سَبَقَتْ رَحْمَتُهُ غَضَبَهُ
His mercy overtakes His Wrath.
اس کی رحمت اس کے غضب سے آگے آگے ہے
وَلَا يَفُوْتُهُ اَحَدٌ اِذَا طَلَبَهُ،
None can escape Him when He summons.
اور اگر وہ کسی کو پکڑنا چاہے تو کوئی بچ کر جا نہیں سکتا ہے۔
اَزَاحَ الْعِلَلَ فِى التَّكْلِيْفِ
He covers all logics for His obligatory decrees,
اس نے اپنے احکام میں تمام موانع کو زائل کردیا ہے
وَسَوَّىْ التَّوْفِيْقَ بَيْنَ الضَّعِيْفِ وَالشَّرِيْفِ،
treats absolutely equally the weak and the noble,
اور ضعیف و شریف سب کو برابر سے توفیق دی ہے۔
مَكَّنَ اَدَاۤءَ الْمَاْمُوْرِ
makes capable to carry out His commands,
احکام پر عمل کرنے کی طاقت دی ہے۔
وَسَهَّلَ سَبِيْلَ اجْتِنَابِ الْمَحْظُوْرِ،
and makes easy to abstain from His prohibitions.
برائیوں سے بچنے کے راستے ہموار کیے ہیں۔
لَمْ يُكَلِّفِ الطَّاعَةَ اِلَّا دُوْنَ الْوُسْعِ والطَّاقَةِ،
He does not make obedience a burden but according to one's real capacity.
کسی شخص کو اس کی وسعت و طاقت سے زیادہ تکلیف نہیں دی ہے۔
سُبْحَانَهُ مَا اَبْيَنَ كَرَمَهُ
All glory be to Him! How manifest His generosity is!
پاکیزہ ہے وہ اس کا کرم کس قدر واضح
وَاَعْلٰى شَاْنَهُ،
How sublime His standing is!
اور شان کس قدر بلند ہے۔
سُبْحَانَهُ مَا اَجَلَّ نَيْلَهُ
All glory be to Him! How magnificent to seek Him is!
پاکیزہ ہے وہ اس کی عطا کس قدر جلیل
وَاَعْظَمَ اِحْسَانَهُ،
How splendid His favors are!
اور اس کا احسان کس قدر عظیم ہے۔
بَعَثَ الْاَنْبِيَاۤءَ لِيُبَيِّنَ عَدْلَهُ
He has sent the Prophets in order to show His justice,
اس نے انبیاء کو بھیجا تا کہ اپنے عدل کو ظاہر کرے
وَنَصَبَ الْاَوْصِيَاۤءَ لِيُظْهِرَ طَوْلَهُ وَفَضْلَهُ،
and appointed successors [for the Prophets] in order to make known His munificence and grace.
اور اوصیاء کو معیّن کیا تا کہ اپنے فضل و کرم کا اظہار کرے۔
وَجَعَلَنَا مِنْ اُمَّةِ سَيِّدِ الْاَنْبِيَاۤءِ
He has made us of the community of the Chief of Prophets,
ہم کو سید الانبیاء
وَخَيْرِ الْاَوْلِيَاۤءِ
the most favorable of His saints,
اور خیرالاولیاء،
وَاَفْضَلِ الْاَصْفِيَاۤءِ
the best of His elite ones,
افضل اصفیاء
وَاَعْلَى الْاَزْكِيَاۤءِ
and the most sublime of the pure ones;
اور بلند ترین ازکیاء
مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ،
that is Muhammad, may Allah send blessings and benedictions upon him and his Household.
حضرت محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہٖ و سلّم کی امّت میں قرار دیا ہے۔
اٰمَنَّا بِہِ وَبِمَا دَعَانَا اِلَيْهِ
We thus believe in him, in all that to which he has called us,
ہم ان پر اور ان کی دعوت پر ایمان لے آئے۔
وَبِالْقُرْاٰنِ الَّذِىْ اَنْزَلَهُ عَلَيْهِ
in the Qur'an which He revealed to him,
اور اس قرآن پر ایمان لائے جس کو ان پر نازل کیا گیا ہے
وَبِوَصِيِّهِ الَّذِىْ نَصَبَهُ يَوْمَ الْغَدِيْرِ
and in his Successor whom he appointed on the Ghadir Day
اور اس وصی پر جس کو روزِ غدیر مولا بنایا گیا ہے۔
وَاَشَارَ بِقَوْلِهِ هٰذَا عَلِىٌّ اِلَيْهِ،
and to whom he referred by saying, “This is 'Ali.”
اور ہذاعلی(یہ علی ہے) کہہ کر اس کی طرف اشارہ کیا گیا ہے۔
وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّ الْاَئِمَّةَ الْاَبْرَارَ
I also bear witness that the Imams—the pious
میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ ائمہ ابرار
وَالْخُلَفَاۤءَ الْاَخْيَارَ
and benign vicegerents [of Allah]
اور خلفاء اخیار
بَعْدَ الرَّسُوْلِ الْمُخْتَارِ،
after the Chosen Prophet are:
میں رسول مختار کے بعد
عَلِىٌّ قَامِعُ الْكُفَّارِ
'Ali, the subduer of the infidels.
پہلے حضرت علیؑ ہیں جو کفّار کو فنا کرنے والے ہیں
وَمِنْ بَعْدِهِ سَيِّدُ اَوْلَادِهِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِىٍّ
Following him is the chief of his sons, al-Hasan, the son of 'Ali.
اور ان کے بعد ان کے فرزند حسنؑ بن علیؑ
ثُمَّ اَخُوْهُ السِّبْطُ التَّابِعُ لِمَرْضَاتِ اللهِ الْحُسَيْنُ،
Then comes his brother, the grandson and seeker of Allah’s pleasure; al-Husayn.
پھر ان کے بھائی تابع مرضیٔ خدا حسینؑ،
ثُمَّ الْعَابِدُ عَلِىٌّ،
Then comes 'Ali, the [distinctive] worshipper [of Allah].
اس کے بعد حضرت عابد علیؑ،
ثُمَّ الْبَاقِرُ مُحَمَّدٌ،
Then comes the Cleaver (of knowledge), Muhammad.
حضرت محمد باقرؑ،
ثُمَّ الصَّادِقُ جَعْفَرٌ،
Then comes the veracious Ja'far.
حضرت جعفر صادقؑ
ثُمَّ الْكَاظِمُ مُوْسٰى،
Then comes the suppressor of rage, Musa.
پھر حضرت موسیٰ کاظمؑ،
ثُمَّ الرِّضَا عَلِىٌّ،
Then comes the pleased, 'Ali.
پھر حضرت علی رضاؑ،
ثُمَّ التَّقِىُّ مُحَمَّدٌ،
Then comes the pious, Muhammad.
پھر حضرت محمد تقیؑ،
ثُمَّ النَّقِىُّ عَلِىٌّ،
Then comes the refined, 'Ali.
پھر حضرت علی نقیؑ،
ثُمَّ الزَّكِىُّ الْعَسْكَرِىُّ الْحَسَنُ،
Then comes the pure resident of 'Askar, al-Hasan.
پھر حضرت حسن عسکری زکیؑ،
ثُمَّ الْحُجَّةُ الْخَلَفُ الْقَاۤئِمُ
Then comes the Argument, Successor, Assumer,
پھر حضرت حجّت قائم
الْمُنْتَظَرُ الْمَهْدِىُّ الْمُرْجَى
Awaited, Well-guided, and Expected
منتظر مہدی (عج)
الَّذِىْ بِبَقَاۤئِهِ بَقِيَتِ الدُّنْيَا،
on account of whose existence, this world is kept in existence,
جن کی بقاء سے دنیا باقی ہے
وَبِيُمْنِهِ رُزِقَ الْوَرٰى،
on account of whose blessing, the created beings are provided sustenance,
اور جن کی برکت سے سب کو روزی مل رہی ہے۔
وَبِوُجُودِهِ ثَبَتَتِ الْاَرْضُ وَالسَّمَاۤءُ
and on account of whose existence, the earth and the sky are kept in firmness.
ان کے وجود سے زمین و آسمان قائم ہیں
وَبِهِ يَمْلَاُ اللهُ الْاَرْضَ قِسْطًا وَعَدْلًا
Through him, Allah shall fill the earth withequity and justice
اور وہی زمین کو عدل و انصاف سے بھرنے والی ہیں
بَعْدَ مَا مُلِئَتْ ظُلْمًا وَجَوْرًا،
after it will be filled with inequity and injustice.
ظلم و جور کے بعد
وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّ اَقْوَالَهُمْ حُجَّةٌ
I also bear witness that their words are decisive arguments,
اور میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ ان سب کے اقوال حجت ہیں
وَامْتِثَالَهُمْ فَرِيْضَةٌ
to comply with their orders is obligatory,
ان کے احکام خداوندی فریضہ ہیں۔
وَطَاعَتَهُمْ مَفْرُوْضَةٌ
the obedience to them is commissioned [by Allah],
ان کی اطاعت واجب ہے
وَمَوَدَّتَهُمْ لَازِمَةٌ مَقْضِيَّةٌ،
to love them is necessary and preordained,
اور ان کی محبت لازم ہے۔
وَالْاِقْتِدَاۤءَ بِهِمْ مُنْجِيَةٌ،
and to pattern after them will definitely achieve salvation,
ان کی اقتداء نجات بخش
وَمُخَالَفَتَهُمْ مُرْدِيَةٌ،
but to oppose them will definitely bring about destruction.
اور ان کی مخالفت مہلک ہے۔
وَهُمْ سَادَاتُ اَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ اَجْمَعِيْنَ،
They are, moreover, the chiefs of all the inhabitants of Paradise,
یہ تمام اہل جنّت کے سردار
وَشُفَعَاۤءُ يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِ
the interceders on the Judgement Day,
روز قیامت کے شفیع
وَاَئِمَّةُ اَهْلِ الْاَرْضِ عَلَى الْيَقِيْنِ،
and, undoubtedly, the leaders of the inhabitants of the earth,
اور اہل ارض کے امام ہیں۔
وَاَفْضَلُ الْاَوْصِيَاۤءِ الْمَرْضِيِّيْنَ،
and the best of the satisfied Successors [of the Prophets].
تمام پسندیدہ اوصیاء سے افضل ہیں
وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّ الْمَوْتَ حَقٌّ
I also bear witness that death is certain,
اور میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ موت حق،
وَمُسَاۤءَلَةَ الْقَبْرِ حَقٌّ
the interrogation by Munkar and Naklr in the grave is certain,
سوال قبر حق،
وَالْبَعْثَ حَقٌّ
the raising of the dead is certain,
روز قیامت حق،
وَالنُّشُوْرَ حَقٌّ
the final assemblage is certain,
قیامت میں محشور ہونا حق،
وَالصِّرْاطَ حَقٌّ،
the Discriminating Bridge is certain,
صراط حق،
وَالْمِيْزَانَ حَقٌّ،
the Scales [of deeds] is certain,
میزان حق،
وَالْحِسَابَ حَقٌّ،
the calling into account is certain,
حساب حق،
وَالْكِتَابَ حَقٌّ،
the record book [of deeds] is certain,
کتاب حق،
وَالْجَنَّةَ حَقٌّ،
Paradise is certain,
جنّت حق،
وَالنَّارَ حَقٌّ،
Hellfire is certain,
جہنّم برحق ہیں،
وَاَنَّ السَّاعَةَ اٰتِيَةٌ لَا رَيْبَ فِيْهَا،
the Hour [of resurrection] will certainly come, without any dispute,
اور قیامت بلاشک آنے والی ہے
وَاَنَّ اللهَ يَبْعَثُ مَنْ فِى الْقُبُورِ،
and Allah shall raise up those who are in graves.
اور اللہ سب کو قبروں سے بہرحال اٹھائے گا۔
اَللّٰـهُمَّ فَضْلُكَ رَجَاۤئِىْ
O Allah, in Your favor do I put my hope,
پروردگار میری امید تیرا فضل و کرم ہے
وَكَرَمُكَ وَرَحْمَتُكَ اَمَلِىْ
Your generosity and mercy do I expect confidently,
اور میری آرزو تیری مہربانی ہے
لَا عَمَلَ لِىْ اَسْتَحِقُّ بِهِ الْجَنَّةَ،
I have no single deed by which I deserve Paradise,
میرے پاس کوئی عمل نہیں ہے جس سے جنّت کا استحقاق پیدا ہو
وَلَا طَاعَةَ لِىْ اَسْتَوْجِبُ بِهَا الرِّضْوَانَ
nor do I have any act of obedience [to You] due to which I deserve Your pleasure;
اور کوئی اطاعت نہیں ہے جس سے تیری رضا حاصل کی جا سکے
اِلَّا اَنِّى اعْتَقَدْتُ تَوْحِيْدَكَ وَعَدْلَكَ،
except that I believe in Your Oneness and Your Justice
علاوہ اس کے کہ میں تیری توحید و عقل کا معتقد ہوں
وَارْتَجَيْتُ اِحْسَانَكَ وَفَضْلَكَ،
and I hope for Your benevolence and Your favor.
اور تیرے فضل و احسان کا امیدوار ہوں۔
وَتَشَفَّعْتُ اِلَيْكَ بِالنَّبِىِّ وَاٰلِهِ مَنْ اَحِبَّتِكَ
I thus seek the Prophet and his Household, Your most-beloved ones, to intercede for me before You;
تیری بارگاہ میں نبیؐ و آل نبیؐ کو شفیع بنایا ہے
وَاَنْتَ اَكْرَمُ الْاَكْرَمِيْنَ
and You are verily the most Generous of all those who treat generously
اور تو بہترین کرم
وَاَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ،
and the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.
اور رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلٰى نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ
May Allah send blessings to Our Prophet, Muhammad
اللہ ہمارے نبی حضرت محمدؐ
وَاٰلِهِ اَجْمَعِيْنَ
and upon all of his Household,
اور ان کے آل طیبین
الطَّيِّبِيْنَ الطَّاهِريْنَ
the pure and immaculate,
و طاہرین پر رحمت نازل کرے
وَسَلَّمَ تَسْلِيْمًا كَثِيْرًا كَثِيْرًا
and send upon them many many benedictions.
اور ان پر بے شمار سلام ہو
وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَلِىِّ الْعَظِيْمِ
There is no might and no power except with Allah, the All-high, the All-great.
خدائے علی و عظیم کے علاوہ کوئی طاقت نہیں ہے
اَللّٰـهُمَّ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
O Allah! O most Merciful of all those who show mercy,
خدایا اے بہترین رحم کرنے والے!
اِنِّى اَوْدَعْتُكَ يَقِيْنِى هٰذَا وَثَبَاتَ دِيْنِىْ
I am depositing with You this faith of mine and my firmness on this belief;
میں نے اس یقین کو اور اپنے دین کے ثبات کو
وَاَنْتَ خَيْرُ مُسْتَوْدَعْ
and You are the ever-best of all those who keep deposits.
تیرے پاس امانت رکھ دیا ہے
وَقَدْ اَمَرْتَنَا بِحِفْظِ الْوَدَاۤئِعِ
You have commanded us to keep safe deposits that are put with us;
اور تو بہترین امین ہے۔ تو نے امانت کی حفاظت کا حکم دیا ہے
فَرُدَّهُ عَلَىَّ وَقْتَ حُضُوْرِ مَوْتِىْ
so, (please) keep for me this deposit to give it back to me at the time of my death
لہٰذا ہنگام موت میری اس امانتِ عقیدہ کو واپس کر دینا
وَ عِنْدَ مَسَاۤءَلَۃِ مُنْکَرٍ وَ نَكِیْرٍ
and at the time of the interrogation of Munkar and Naklr;
اور منکر اور نکیر کے سوالات کے وقت
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ۔
[I beseech You] in the name of Your mercy; O most Merciful of all those who show mercy.
اپنی رحمت کے سہارے۔ اے بہترین رحمت کرنے والے۔
Many authentically reported supplications have comprised the following statement:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَدِيْلَةِ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ و عَدِيْلَۃِ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ
O Allah, I seek Your protection against deviation at the hour of death.
خدایا وقتِ موت حق سے باطل کی طرف عدول کرنے سے تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں۔
Deviation at the hour of death stands for shifting from the right to the wrong at the hour of death. To explain, Satan attends at the hour of death in order to deceive the moribund and suggest evil to him in order to make him doubt about his religion. If Satan succeeds, he will pull out faith from the heart of the dying person. To avoid that, many supplications have comprised statements of seeking Almighty Allah’s protection against deviation at death. Fakhr al-Muhaqqiqin says, “To escape deviation at the hour of death, one should bethink the proofs of creed in which he believes, as well as the five principles of the religion with all of their irrefutable evidences, with absolute sincerity and purity and should then trust them with Almighty Allah beseeching Him for giving them back at the hour of dying. This can be done by saying the following supplicatory prayer:
اَللّٰهُمَّ يَاۤ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
O Allah, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy,
اے ارحم الراحمین
اِنِّيْ قَدْ اَوْدَعْتُكَ يَقِيْنِي هٰذَا وَ ثَبَاتَ دِيْنِيْ
I am depositing with You this faith of mine and my firmness on this belief;
میں نے اپنے یقین کو اور اپنے ثبات دینی کو
وَ اَنْتَ خَيْرُ مُسْتَوْدَعٍ
and You are the ever-best of all those who keep deposits.
تیرے پاس امانت رکھوا دیا ہے
وَ قَدْ اَمَرْتَنَا بِحِفْظِ الْوَدَاۤئِعِ
You have commanded us to keep safe deposits that are put with us;
کہ تو بہترین امین ہے اور تو نے امانتوں کو واپس کرنے کا حکم دیا ہے
فَرُدَّهُ عَلَيَّ وَقْتَ حُضُوْرِ مَوْتِيْ
so, (please) keep for me this deposit to give it back to me at the time of my death
لہٰذا وقت موت میری اس مانت کو واپس کر دینا۔
