The following supplicatory prayers are quoted from considerable reference books:
The Verses of the Greatest Name
The reverent Sayyid Ali Khan al-Shirazi - may Allah’s pleasure be with him - has mentioned in his book of al-Kalim al-Tayyib that Almighty Allah’s Greatest Name (alism al-a’zam) stands for each statement that begins with the word “Allah” and ends up with the word “huwa (He),” provided that the statement (in Arabic) be empty of any dotted letter and that its recitation does not change whether it is parsed or not. Such statements can be found in the Holy Qur’an in five verses of five different Surahs: al-Baqarah (2:255), Al-’Imran (3:2), al-Nisa’ (4:87), Taahaa (20:8), and al-Taghabun (64:13). Shaykh al-Maghribi says, “If one betakes to these five verses as a supplicatory prayer that is repeated eleven times a day, all his general and particular affairs will be made easy for him without delay, Allah willing.” These five verses are as follows:
First: Verse 255 of Surah al-Baqarah (No. 2)
اللّٰهُ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّوْمُۚ لَا تَاْخُذُهٗ سِنَةٌ وَّلَا نَوْمٌؕ لَهٗ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْاَرْضِؕ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِىْ يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهٗۤ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِهٖؕ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ اَيْدِيْهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْۚ وَلَا يُحِيْطُوْنَ بِشَىْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهٖۤ اِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَۚ وَلَا يَئُوْدُهٗ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَ هُوَ الْعَلِىُّ الْعَظِيْمُ(255)
Allah; there is no god but He: He is the Lord of mighty power.
اللہ جس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے زندہ بھی ہے اوراسی سے کل کائنات قائم ہے اسے نہ نیند آتی ہے نہ اُونگھ آسمانوں اور زمین میں جو کچھ بھی ہے سب اسی کا ہے. کون ہے جو اس کی بارگاہ میں اس کی اجازت کے بغیر سفارش کرسکے. وہ جو کچھ ان کے سامنے ہے اور جو پبُ پشت ہے سب کوجانتا ہے اور یہ اس کے علم کے ایک حّصہ کا بھی احاطہ نہیں کرسکتے مگر وہ جس قدر چاہے. اس کی کرس علم و اقتدار زمین و آسمان سے وسیع تر ہے اور اسے ا ن کے تحفظ میں کوئی تکلیف بھی نہیں ہوتی وہ عالی مرتبہ بھی ہے اور صاحبِ عظمت بھی
Second: Verse 2 of Surah Al-’Imran (No. 3):
اَللهُ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّوْمُ
Allah, (there is) no god but He, the Ever-living, the Self-subsisting by Whom all things subsist.
اللہ جس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے اور وہ ہمیشہ زندہ ہے اور ہر شے اسی کے طفیل میں قائم ہے
نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ
He has revealed to you the Book with truth, verifying that which is before it,
اس نے آپ پر وہ برحق کتاب نازل کی ہے جو تمام کتابوں کی تصدیق کرنے والی ہے
وَ اَنْزَلَ التَّوْرَاةَ وَ الْاِنْجِيْلَ
and He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
اور توریت و انجیل بھی نازل کی ہے
مِنْ قَبْلُ هُدًى لِلنَّاسِ وَ اَنْزَلَ الْفُرْقَانَ
aforetime, a guidance for the people, and He sent the Criterion.
اس سے پہلے لوگوں کے لئے ہدایت بنا کر اور حق و باطل میں فرق کرنے والی کتاب بھی نازل کی ہے
Third: Verse 87 of Surah al-Nisa’ (No. 4):
اَللهُ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ
Allah, there is no god but He
اللہ وہ خدا ہے جس کے علاوہ کوئی معبود نہیں ہے-
لَيَجْمَعَنَّكُمْ اِلٰى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيْهِ
He will most certainly gather you together on the resurrection day, there is no doubt in it;
وہ تم سب کو روزِ قیامت جمع کرے گا اور اس میں کوئی شک نہیں ہے
وَ مَنْ اَصْدَقُ مِنَ اللّٰهِ حَدِيْثًا
and who is more true in word than Allah.
اور اللہ سے زیادہ سچّی بات کون کرنے والا ہے
Fourth: Verse 8 of Surah Taahaa (No. 20):
اَللهُ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ
Allah; there is no god but He;
وہ اللہ ہے جس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے
لَهُ الْاَسْمَاۤءُ الْحُسْنٰى
His are the very best names.
اس کے لیے بہترین نام ہیں
Fifth: Verse 13 of Surah al-Taghabun (No. 64):
اَللهُ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ
Allah; there is no god but He;
ﷲ ہی وہ ہے جس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے
وَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُوْنَ
and upon Allah, then, let the believers rely.
اور تمام صاحبانِ ایمان کو اُسی پر بھروسہ کرنا چاہیے
