۹۲ : سورة الليل
SURAH AL-LAYL (THE NIGHT)
There are 21 verses in this surah and it was revealed in Mecca. The holy Prophet (S) has said that the reward of reciting this surah is so much that the one who recites it will be pleased when he sees it in his Book of Deeds. His inspiration of good deeds (Tawfiq) will also increase.
If recited 15 times before sleeping, one will dream about what pleases him most. Reciting it in the I’sha prayers, carries the reward of completing a quarter of the holy Qur’an and it is guaranteed that the prayers are accepted.
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
وَالَّيْلِ اِذَا يَغْشٰىۙ(1)
(1) I swear by the night when it draws a veil,
(1) رات کی قسم جب وہ دن کو ڈھانپ لے
وَالنَّهَارِ اِذَا تَجَلّٰىۙ(2)
(2) And the day when it shines in brightness,
(2) اور دن کی قسم جب وہ چمک جائے
وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْاُنْثٰٓىۙ(3)
(3) And the creating of the male and the female,
(3) اور اس کی قسم جس نے مرد اور عورت کو پیدا کیا ہے
اِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتّٰىؕ(4)
(4) Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends).
(4) بے شک تمہاری کوششیں مختلف قسم کی ہیں
فَاَمَّا مَنْ اَعْطٰى وَاتَّقٰىۙ(5)
(5) Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil),
(5) پھر جس نے مال عطا کیا اور تقویٰ اختیار کیا
وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنٰىۙ(6)
(6) And accepts the best,
(6) اور نیکی کی تصدیق کی
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهٗ لِلْيُسْرٰىؕ(7)
(7) We will facilitate for him the easy end.
(7) تو اس کے لئے ہم آسانی کا انتظام کردیں گے
وَاَمَّا مَنْۢ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنٰىۙ(8)
(8) And as for him who is niggardly and considers himself free from need (of Allah),
(8) اور جس نے بخل کیا اور لاپروائی برتی
وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنٰىۙ(9)
(9) And rejects the best,
(9) اور نیکی کو جھٹلایا ہے
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهٗ لِلْعُسْرٰىؕ(10)
(10) We will facilitate for him the difficult end.
(10) اس کے لئے سختی کی راہ ہموار کردیں گے
وَمَا يُغْنِىْ عَنْهُ مَالُهٗۤ اِذَا تَرَدّٰىؕ(11)
(11) And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes.
(11) اور اس کا مال کچھ کام نہ آئے گا جب وہ ہلاک ہوجائے گا
اِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدٰىۖ(12)
(12) Surely Ours is it to show the way,
(12) بے شک ہدایت کی ذمہ داری ہمارے اوپر ہے
وَاِنَّ لَنَا لَلْاٰخِرَةَ وَالْاُوْلٰى(13)
(13) And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former.
(13) اور دنیا و آخرت کا اختیار ہمارے ہاتھوں میں ہے
فَاَنْذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظّٰىۚ(14)
(14) Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames:
(14) تو ہم نے تمہیں بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ سے ڈرایا
لَا يَصْلٰٮهَاۤ اِلَّا الْاَشْقَىۙ(15)
(15) None shall enter it but the most unhappy,
(15) جس میں کوئی نہ جائے گا سوائے بدبخت شخص کے
الَّذِىْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلّٰىؕ(16)
(16) Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back.
(16) جس نے جھٹلایا اور منھ پھیرلیا
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْاَتْقَىۙ(17)
(17) And away from it shall be kept the one who guards most (against evil),
(17) اور اس سے عنقریب صاحبِ تقویٰ کو محفوظ رکھا جائے گا
الَّذِىْ يُؤْتِىْ مَالَهٗ يَتَزَكّٰىۚ(18)
(18) Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself
(18) جو اپنے مال کو دے کر پاکیزگی کا اہتمام کرتا ہے
وَمَا لِاَحَدٍ عِنْدَهٗ مِنْ نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزٰٓىۙ(19)
(19) And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded,
(19) جب کہ اس کے پاس کسی کا کوئی احسان نہیں ہے جس کی جزاء دی جائے
اِلَّا ابْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْاَعْلٰىۚ(20)
(20) Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High.
(20) سوائے یہ کہ وہ خدائے بزرگ کی مرضی کا طلبگار ہے
وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضٰى(21)
(21) And he shall soon be well-pleased.
(21) اور عنقریب وہ راضی ہوجائے گا
