۸۹ : سورة الفجر
SURAH AL-FAJR (THE DAYBREAK)
This surah was revealed in Mecca and it has 30 verses. Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) urged believers to recite this surah in their prayers as it is the surah of Imam Husain (a.s.) and the one who recites it often will be in the company of Imam Husain (a.s.) on the Day of Judgement.
It is narrated from the Holy Prophet (S) that the one who recites this surah, Allah (s.w.t) will forgive his sins amounting to ten times the number of people who recite this surah. On the Day of Reckoning he will have a shining light. If this surah is written as a taweez and then tied to one’s back, after which he goes into his wife, then Allah (s.w.t) will give him a child who will be a means of pride and blessings for him.
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
وَالْفَجْرِۙ(1)
(1) I swear by the daybreak,
(1) قسم ہے فجر کی
وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍۙ(2)
(2) And the ten nights,
(2) اور دس راتوں کی
وَّالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِۙ(3)
(3) And the even and the odd,
(3) اور جفت و طاق کی
وَالَّيْلِ اِذَا يَسْرِۚ(4)
(4) And the night when it departs.
(4) اور رات کی جب وہ جانے لگے
هَلْ فِىْ ذٰلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِّذِىْ حِجْرٍؕ(5)
(5) Truly in that there is an oath for those who possess understanding.
(5) بے شک ان چیزوں میں قسم ہے صاحبِ عقل کے لئے
اَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍۙ(6)
(6) Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with Ad,
(6) کیا تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ تمہارے رب نے قوم عاد کے ساتھ کیا کیا ہے
اِرَمَ ذَاتِ الْعِمَادِۙ(7)
(7) (The people of) Aram, possessors of lofty buildings,
(7) ستون والے ارم والے
الَّتِىْ لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِى الْبِلَادِۙ(8)
(8) The like of which were not created in the (other) cities;
(8) جس کا مثل دوسرے شہروں میں نہیں پیدا ہوا ہے
وَثَمُوْدَ الَّذِيْنَ جَابُوا الصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِۙ(9)
(9) And (with) Samood, who hewed out the rocks in the valley,
(9) اور ثمود کے ساتھ جو وادی میں پتھر تراش کر مکان بناتے تھے
وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِى الْاَوْتَادِۙ(10)
(10) And (with) Firon, the lord of hosts,
(10) اور میخوں والے فرعون کے ساتھ
الَّذِيْنَ طَغَوْا فِى الْبِلَادِۙ(11)
(11) Who committed inordinacy in the cities,
(11) جن لوگوں نے شہروں میں سرکشی پھیلائی
فَاَكْثَرُوْا فِيْهَا الْفَسَادَۙ(12)
(12) So they made great mischief therein?
(12) اور خوب فساد کیا
فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ ۙۚ(13)
(13) Therefore your Lord let down upon them a portion of the chastisement.
(13) تو پھر خدا نے ان پر عذاب کے کوڑے برسادیئے
اِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِالْمِرْصَادِؕ(14)
(14) Most surely your Lord is watching.
(14) بے شک تمہارا پروردگار ظالموں کی تاک میں ہے
فَاَمَّا الْاِنْسَانُ اِذَا مَا ابْتَلٰٮهُ رَبُّهٗ فَاَكْرَمَهٗ وَنَعَّمَهٗ ۙ فَيَقُوْلُ رَبِّىْۤ اَكْرَمَنِؕ(15)
(15) And as for man, when his Lord tries him, then treats him with honor and makes him lead an easy life, he says: My Lord honors me.
(15) لیکن انسان کا حال یہ ہے کہ جب خدا نے اس کو اس طرح آزمایا کہ عزّت اور نعمت دے دی تو کہنے لگا کہ میرے رب نے مجھے باعزّت بنایا ہے
وَاَمَّاۤ اِذَا مَا ابْتَلٰٮهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهٗ ۙ فَيَقُوْلُ رَبِّىْۤ اَهَانَنِۚ(16)
(16) But when He tries him (differently), then straitens to him his means of subsistence, he says: My Lord has disgraced me.
(16) اور جب آزمائش کے لئے روزی کو تنگ کردیا تو کہنے لگا کہ میرے پروردگار نے میری توہین کی ہے
كَلَّا بَلْ لَّا تُكْرِمُوْنَ الْيَتِيْمَۙ(17)
(17) Nay! but you do not honor the orphan,
(17) ایسا ہرگز نہیں ہے بلکہ تم یتیموں کا احترام نہیں کرتے ہو
وَلَا تَحٰٓضُّوْنَ عَلٰى طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِيْنِۙ(18)
(18) Nor do you urge one another to feed the poor,
(18) اور لوگوں کو م مسکینوں کے کھانے پر آمادہ نہیں کرتے ہو
وَتَاْكُلُوْنَ التُّرَاثَ اَكْلًا لَّمًّا ۙ(19)
(19) And you eat away the heritage, devouring (everything) indiscriminately,
(19) اور میراث کے مال کو اکٹھا کرکے حلال و حرام سب کھا جاتے ہو
وَّتُحِبُّوْنَ الْمَالَ حُبًّا جَمًّا ؕ(20)
(20) And you love wealth withexceeding love.
(20) اور مال دنیا کو بہت دوست رکھتے ہو
كَلَّاۤ اِذَا دُكَّتِ الْاَرْضُ دَكًّا دَكًّا ۙ(21)
(21) Nay! when the earth is made to crumble to pieces,
(21) یاد رکھو کہ جب زمین کو ریزہ ریزہ کردیا جائے گا
وَّجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَالْمَلَكُ صَفًّا صَفًّا ۚ(22)
(22) And your Lord comes and (also) the angels in ranks,
(22) اور تمہارے پروردگار کا حکم اور فرشتے صف در صف آجائیں گے
وَجِاىْٓءَ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۙ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَّتَذَكَّرُ الْاِنْسَانُ وَاَنّٰى لَهُ الذِّكْرٰىؕ(23)
(23) And hell is made to appear on that day. On that day shall man be mindful, and what shall being mindful (then) avail him?
(23) اور جہنمّ کو اس دن سامنے لایا جائے گا تو انسان کو ہوش آجائے گا لیکن اس دن ہوش آنے کا کیا فائدہ
يَقُوْلُ يٰلَيْتَنِىْ قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِىۚ(24)
(24) He shall say: O! would that I had sent before for (this) my life!
(24) انسان کہے گا کہ کاش میں نے اپنی اس زندگی کے لئے کچھ پہلے بھیج دیا ہوتا
فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهٗۤ اَحَدٌ ۙ(25)
(25) But on that day shall no one chastise with (anything like) His chastisement,
(25) تو اس دن خدا ویسا عذاب کرے گا جو کسی نے نہ کیا ہوگا
وَّلَا يُوْثِقُ وَثَاقَهٗۤ اَحَدٌ ؕ(26)
(26) And no one shall bind with (anything like) His binding.
(26) اور نہ اس طرح کسی نے گرفتار کیا ہوگا
يٰۤاَيَّتُهَا النَّفْسُ الْمُطْمَئِنَّةُۖ(27)
(27) O soul that art at rest!
(27) اے نفس مطمئن
ارْجِعِىْۤ اِلٰى رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةً مَّرْضِيَّةً ۚ(28)
(28) Return to your Lord, well-pleased (with him), well-pleasing (Him),
(28) اپنے رب کی طرف پلٹ آ اس عالم میں کہ تواس سے راضی ہے اور وہ تجھ سے راضی ہے
فَادْخُلِىْ فِىْ عِبٰدِىۙ(29)
(29) So enter among My servants,
(29) پھر میرے بندوں میں شامل ہوجا
وَادْخُلِىْ جَنَّتِى(30)
(30) And enter into My garden.
(30) اور میری جنت میں داخل ہوجا
