۸۷ : سورة الأعلى
SURAH AL-A’ALA (THE MOST HIGH)
There are 19 verses in this surah and it was revealed in Mecca. It is narrated that the reciter of this surah will get the reward equal to ten times the number of letters in the divine books that were revealed to the Holy Prophet (S), Prophet Ibrahim (a.s.) and Prophet Musa (a.s.). It is also said that in the hereafter, he will be told to enter Paradise through whichever door he pleases.
Imam Ali (a.s.) used to recite this surah often in his compulsory prayers. surah al-A’ala is also good for relieving ear pains and other ailments.
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْاَعْلَىۙ(1)
(1) Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High,
(1) اپنے بلند ترین رب کے نام کی تسبیح کرو
الَّذِىْ خَلَقَ فَسَوّٰى ۙ(2)
(2) Who creates, then makes complete,
(2) جس نے پیدا کیا ہے اور درست بنایا ہے
وَالَّذِىْ قَدَّرَ فَهَدٰى ۙ(3)
(3) And Who makes (things) according to a measure, then guides (them to their goal),
(3) جس نے تقدیر معین کی ہے اور پھر ہدایت دی ہے
وَالَّذِىْۤ اَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعٰى ۙ(4)
(4) And Who brings forth herbage,
(4) جس نے چارہ بنایا ہے
فَجَعَلَهٗ غُثَآءً اَحْوٰىؕ(5)
(5) Then makes it dried up, dust-colored.
(5) پھر اسے خشک کرکے سیاہ رنگ کا کوڑا بنادیاہے
سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنْسٰٓىۙ(6)
(6) We will make you recite so you shall not forget,
(6) ہم عنقریب تمہیں اس طرح پڑھائیں گے کہ بھول نہ سکوگے
اِلَّا مَا شَآءَ اللّٰهُؕ اِنَّهٗ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفٰىؕ(7)
(7) Except what Allah pleases, surely He knows the manifest, and what is hidden.
(7) مگر یہ کہ خدا ہی چاہے کہ وہ ہر ظاہر اور مخفی رہنے والی چیز کو جانتا ہے
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرٰى ۖۚ(8)
(8) And We will make your way smooth to a state of ease.
(8) اور ہم تم کو آسان راستہ کی توفیق دیں گے
فَذَكِّرْ اِنْ نَّفَعَتِ الذِّكْرٰىؕ(9)
(9) Therefore do remind, surely reminding does profit.
(9) لہذا لوگوں کوسمجھاؤ اگر سمجھانے کا فائدہ ہو
سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَنْ يَّخْشٰىۙ(10)
(10) He who fears will mind,
(10) عنقریب خوف خدا رکھنے والا سمجھ جائے گا
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْاَشْقَىۙ(11)
(11) And the most unfortunate one will avoid it,
(11) اور بدبخت اس سے کنارہ کشی کرے گا
الَّذِىْ يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرٰىۚ(12)
(12) Who shall enter the great fire;
(12) جو بہت بڑی آگ میں جلنے والا ہے
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوْتُ فِيْهَا وَلَا يَحْيٰىؕ(13)
(13) Then therein he shall neither live nor die.
(13) پھر نہ اس میں زندگی ہے نہ موت
قَدْ اَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكّٰىۙ(14)
(14) He indeed shall be successful who purifies himself,
(14) بے شک پاکیزہ رہنے والا کامیاب ہوگیا
وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهٖ فَصَلّٰى ؕ(15)
(15) And magnifies the name of his Lord and prays.
(15) جس نے اپنے رب کے نام کی تسبیح کی اور پھر نماز پڑھی
بَلْ تُؤْثِرُوْنَ الْحَيٰوةَ الدُّنْيَاۖ(16)
(16) Nay! you prefer the life of this world,
(16) لیکن تم لوگ زندگانی دنیا کو مقدم رکھتے ہو
وَالْاٰخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَّ اَبْقٰىؕ(17)
(17) While the hereafter is better and more lasting.
(17) جب کہ آخرت بہتر اور ہمیشہ رہنے والی ہے
اِنَّ هٰذَا لَفِى الصُّحُفِ الْاُوْلٰىۙ(18)
(18) Most surely this is in the earlier scriptures,
(18) یہ بات تمام پہلے صحیفوں میں بھی موجود ہے
صُحُفِ اِبْرٰهِيْمَ وَمُوْسٰى(19)
(19) The scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa.
(19) ابراہیم علیہ السّلام کے صحیفوں میں بھی اور موسٰی علیہ السّلام کے صحیفوں میں بھی
