۸۶ : سورة الطارق
SURAH AT-TAARIQ (THE NIGHT-COMER)
This surah has 17 verses and it is a ‘Makki’ surah. The Holy Prophet (S) has said that the reward for reciting this surah is equivalent to ten times the number of heavenly bodies in space.
Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) has narrated that if surah at-Taariq is recited in obligatory prayers, then the reciter is honoured by Allah (s.w.t) and he will get the opportunity of being with the Prophets (a.s.). Reciting this surah over anything keeps it safe. If recited before taking medicine, then the medicine will be a cure. The water in which this surah has been dissolved should be poured gently on a wound and it will heal with the Grace of Allah (s.w.t).
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
وَالسَّمَآءِ وَالطَّارِقِۙ(1)
(1) I swear by the heaven and the comer by night;
(1) آسمان اور رات کو آنے والے کی قسم
وَمَاۤ اَدْرٰٮكَ مَا الطَّارِقُۙ(2)
(2) And what will make you know what the comer by night is?
(2) اور تم کیا جانو کہ طارق کیا ہے
النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُۙ(3)
(3) The star of piercing brightness;
(3) یہ ایک چمکتا ہوا ستارہ ہے
اِنْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌؕ(4)
(4) There is not a soul but over it is a keeper.
(4) کوئی نفس ایسا نہیں ہے جس کے اوپر نگراں نہ معین کیا گیا ہو
فَلْيَنْظُرِ الْاِنْسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَؕ(5)
(5) So let man consider of what he is created:
(5) پھر انسان دیکھے کہ اسے کس چیز سے پیدا کیا گیا ہے
خُلِقَ مِنْ مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍۙ(6)
(6) He is created of water pouring forth,
(6) وہ ایک اُچھلتے ہوئے پانی سے پیدا کیا گیا ہے
يَّخْرُجُ مِنْۢ بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَآئِبِؕ(7)
(7) Coming from between the back and the ribs.
(7) جو پیٹھ اور سینہ کی ہڈیوں کے درمیان سے نکلتا ہے
اِنَّهٗ عَلٰى رَجْعِهٖ لَقَادِرٌؕ(8)
(8) Most surely He is able to return him (to life).
(8) یقینا وہ خدا انسان کے دوبارہ پیدا کرنے پر بھی قادر ہے
يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَآئِرُۙ(9)
(9) On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest,
(9) z جس دن رازوں کو آزمایا جائے گا
فَمَا لَهٗ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَّلَا نَاصِرٍؕ(10)
(10) He shall have neither strength nor helper.
(10) تو پھر نہ کسی کے پاس قوت ہوگی اور نہ مددگار
وَالسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجْعِۙ(11)
(11) I swear by the raingiving heavens,
(11) قسم ہے چکر کھانے والے آسمان کی
وَالْاَرْضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدْعِۙ(12)
(12) And the earth splitting (with plants);
(12) اور شگافتہ ہونے والی زمین کی
اِنَّهٗ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌۙ(13)
(13) Most surely it is a decisive word,
(13) بے شک یہ قول فیصل ہے
وَّمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِؕ(14)
(14) And it is no joke.
(14) اور مذاق نہیں ہے
اِنَّهُمْ يَكِيْدُوْنَ كَيْدًا ۙ(15)
(15) Surely they will make a scheme,
(15) یہ لوگ اپنا مکر کررہے ہیں
وَّاَكِيْدُ كَيْدًا ۚۖ(16)
(16) And I (too) will make a scheme.
(16) اور ہم اپنی تدبیر کررہے ہیں
فَمَهِّلِ الْكٰفِرِيْنَ اَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًا(17)
(17) So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while.
(17) تو کافروں کو چھوڑ دو اور انہیں تھوڑی سی مہلت دے دو
