۸۵ : سورة البروج
SURAH AL-BURUJ (THE MANSION OF STARS)
This ‘Makki’ surah has 22 verses. It is narrated from the Holy Prophet (S) that the one who recites this surah will be near the Prophets and Messengers on the Day of Judgement. The reward for reciting this surah is ten times the number of people who gather on the plains of Arafah.
Reciting this surah saves one from dangers and if recited before sleeping, one is kept under the protection of Allah (s.w.t) for the whole night. When trying to wean a baby (stop it from breastfeeding and start eating solid foods), this surah should be written and tied as a taweez around the baby’s neck.
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
وَالسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوْجِۙ(1)
(1) I swear by the mansions of the stars,
(1) برجوں والے آسمان کی قسم
وَالْيَوْمِ الْمَوْعُوْدِۙ(2)
(2) And the promised day,
(2) اور اس دن کی قسم جس کا وعدہ دیا گیا ہے
وَشَاهِدٍ وَّمَشْهُوْدٍؕ(3)
(3) And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne.
(3) اور گواہ اور جس کی گواہی دی جائے گی اس کی قسم
قُتِلَ اَصْحٰبُ الْاُخْدُوْدِۙ(4)
(4) Cursed be the makers of the pit,
(4) اصحاب اخدود ہلاک کردیئے گئے
النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُوْدِۙ(5)
(5) Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel,
(5) آگ سے بھری ہوئی خندقوں والے
اِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُوْدٌ ۙ(6)
(6) When they sat by it,
(6) جن میں آگ بھرے بیٹھے ہوئے تھے
وَّهُمْ عَلٰى مَا يَفْعَلُوْنَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ شُهُوْدٌ ؕ(7)
(7) And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers.
(7) اور وہ مومنین کے ساتھ جو سلوک کررہے تھے خود ہی اس کے گواہ بھی ہیں
وَمَا نَقَمُوْا مِنْهُمْ اِلَّاۤ اَنْ يُّؤْمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ الْعَزِيْزِ الْحَمِيْدِۙ(8)
(8) And they did not take vengeance on them for aught except that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praised,
(8) اور انہوں نے ان سے صرف اس بات کا بدلہ لیا ہے کہ وہ خدائے عزیز و حمید پر ایمان لائے تھے
الَّذِىْ لَهٗ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِؕ وَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيْدٌ ؕ(9)
(9) Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things.
(9) وہ خدا جس کے اختیار میں آسمان و زمین کا سارا ملک ہے اور وہ ہر شے کا گواہ اور نگراں بھی ہے
اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوْبُوْا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِيْقِؕ(10)
(10) Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning.
(10) بے شک جن لوگوں نے ایماندار مردوں اور عورتوں کو ستایا اور پھر توبہ نہ کی ان کے لئے جہنمّ کا عذاب ہے اور ان کے لئے جلنے کا عذاب بھی ہے
اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنّٰتٌ تَجْرِىْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ ؕؔ ذٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِيْرُؕ(11)
(11) Surely (as for) those who believe and do good, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, that is the great achievement.
(11) بے شک جو لوگ ایمان لے آئے اور انہوں نے نیک اعمال کئے ان کے لئے وہ جنتیں ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہوں گی اور یہ بہت بڑی کامیابی ہے
اِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيْدٌ ؕ(12)
(12) Surely the might of your Lord is great.
(12) بے شک آپ کے پروردگار کی پکڑ بہت سخت ہوتی ہے
اِنَّهٗ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيْدُ ۚ(13)
(13) Surely He it is Who originates and reproduces,
(13) وہی پیدا کرنے والا اور دوبارہ ایجاد کرنے والا ہے
وَهُوَ الْغَفُوْرُ الْوَدُوْدُۙ(14)
(14) And He is the Forgiving, the Loving,
(14) وہی بہت بخشنے والا اور محبت کرنے والا ہے
ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِيْدُ ۙ(15)
(15) Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious,
(15) وہ صاحبِ عرش مجید ہے
فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيْدُ ؕ(16)
(16) The great doer of what He will.
(16) جو چاہتا ہے کرسکتا ہے
هَلْ اَتٰٮكَ حَدِيْثُ الْجُنُوْدِۙ(17)
(17) Has not there come to you the story of the hosts,
(17) کیا تمہارے پاس لشکروں کی خبر آئی ہے
فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُوْدَؕ(18)
(18) Of Firon and Samood?
(18) فرعون اور قوم ثمود کی خبر
بَلِ الَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْا فِىْ تَكْذِيْبٍۙ(19)
(19) Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth.
(19) مگر کفاّر تو صرف جھٹلانے میں پڑے ہوئے ہیں
وَّاللّٰهُ مِنْ وَّرَآئِهِمْ مُّحِيْطٌۚ(20)
(20) And Allah encompasses them on every side.
(20) اور اللہ ان کو پیچھے سے گھیرے ہوئے ہے
بَلْ هُوَ قُرْاٰنٌ مَّجِيْدٌ ۙ(21)
(21) Nay! it is a glorious Quran,
(21) یقینا یہ بزرگ و برتر قرآن ہے
فِىْ لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوْظٍ(22)
(22) In a guarded tablet.
(22) جو لوح محفوظ میں محفوظ کیا گیا ہے
