۷۳ : سورة المزمل
SURAH AL-MUZAMMIL (THE WRAPPED)
There are 20 verses in this surah and it was revealed in Mecca. Some scholars say that it was revealed in Madinah. It is narrated from the Holy Prophet (S) that a person who recites this surah will never face bad times. The person who recites it in the Isha or Tahajjud prayers always remains pure of heart and even if dies then it will be in a pure state.
Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) said that a person who recites this surah properly will get a chance to meet the Holy Prophet (S) and if he prays for something from Allah (s.w.t) he will get it. Reciting surah al-Muzammil hundred times on Thursday night leads to the forgiving of a hundred major sins and procures hundred rewards. Recitation of this surah protects one from insanity and from being a slave to people.
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
يٰۤاَيُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُۙ(1)
(1) O you who have wrapped up in your garments!
(1) اے میرے چادر لپیٹنے والے
قُمِ الَّيْلَ اِلَّا قَلِيْلًا ۙ(2)
(2) Rise to pray in the night except a little,
(2) رات کو اٹھو مگر ذرا کم
نِّصْفَهٗۤ اَوِ انْقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيْلًا ۙ(3)
(3) Half of it, or lessen it a little,
(3) آدھی رات یا اس سے بھی کچھ کم کر دو
اَوْ زِدْ عَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْاٰنَ تَرْتِيْلًا ؕ(4)
(4) Or add to it, and recite the Quran as it ought to be recited.
(4) یا کچھ زیادہ کردو اور قرآن کو ٹھہر ٹھہر کر باقاعدہ پڑھو
اِنَّا سَنُلْقِىْ عَلَيْكَ قَوْلًا ثَقِيْلًا(5)
(5) Surely We will make to light upon you a weighty Word.
(5) ہم عنقریب تمہارے اوپر ایک سنگین حکم نازل کرنے والے ہیں
اِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ الَّيْلِ هِىَ اَشَدُّ وَطْاً وَّاَقْوَمُ قِيْلًا ؕ(6)
(6) Surely the rising by night is the firmest way to tread and the best corrective of speech.
(6) بیشک رات کا اُٹھنا نفس کی پامالی کے لئے بہترین ذریعہ اور ذکر کا بہترین وقت ہے
اِنَّ لَكَ فِى النَّهَارِ سَبْحًا طَوِيْلًا ؕ(7)
(7) Surely you have in the day time a long occupation.
(7) یقینا آپ کے لئے دن میں بہت سے مشغولیات ہیں
وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ اِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيْلًا ؕ(8)
(8) And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with (exclusive) devotion.
(8) اور آپ اپنے رب کے نام کا ذکر کریں اور اسی کے ہو رہیں
رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ فَاتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيْلًا(9)
(9) The Lord of the East and the West-- there is no god but He-- therefore take Him for a protector.
(9) وہ مشرق و مغرب کا مالک ہے اور اس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے لہذا آپ اسی کو اپنا نگراں بنالیں
وَاصْبِرْ عَلٰى مَا يَقُوْلُوْنَ وَاهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِيْلًا(10)
(10) And bear patiently what they say and avoid them with a becoming avoidance.
(10) اور یہ لوگ جو کچھ بھی کہہ رہے ہیں اس پر صبر کریں اور انہیں خوبصورتی کے ساتھ اپنے سے الگ کردیں
وَذَرْنِىْ وَالْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ اُولِى النَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيْلًا(11)
(11) And leave Me and the rejecters, the possessors of ease and plenty, and respite them a little.
(11) اور ہمیں اور ان دولت مند جھٹلانے والوں کو چھوڑ دیں اور انہیں تھوڑی مہلت دے دیں
اِنَّ لَدَيْنَاۤ اَنْكَالًا وَّجَحِيْمًا ۙ(12)
(12) Surely with Us are heavy fetters and a flaming fire,
(12) ہمارے پاس ان کے لئے بیڑیاں اور بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ ہے
وَّطَعَامًا ذَا غُصَّةٍ وَّعَذَابًا اَلِيْمًا(13)
(13) And food that chokes and a painful punishment,
(13) اور گلے میں پھنس جانے والا کھانا اور دردناک عذاب ہے
يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الْاَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ الْجِبَالُ كَثِيْبًا مَّهِيْلًا(14)
(14) On the day when the earth and the mountains shall quake and the mountains shall become (as) heaps of sand let loose.
(14) جس دن زمین اور پہاڑ لرزہ میں آجائیں گے اور پہاڑ ریت کا ایک ٹیلہ بن جائیں گے
اِنَّاۤ اَرْسَلْنَاۤ اِلَيْكُمْ رَسُوْلًا ۙ شَاهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَاۤ اَرْسَلْنَاۤ اِلٰى فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُوْلًا ؕ(15)
(15) Surely We have sent to you an Apostle, a witness against you, as We sent an apostle to Firon.
(15) بیشک ہم نے تم لوگوں کی طرف تمہارا گواہ بناکر ایک رسول بھیجا ہے جس طرح فرعون کی طرف رسول بھیجا تھا
فَعَصٰى فِرْعَوْنُ الرَّسُوْلَ فَاَخَذْنٰهُ اَخْذًا وَّبِيْلًا(16)
(16) But Firon disobeyed the apostle, so We laid on him a violent hold.
(16) تو فرعون نے اس رسول کی نافرمانی کی تو ہم نے اسے سخت گرفت میں لے لیا
فَكَيْفَ تَتَّقُوْنَ اِنْ كَفَرْتُمْ يَوْمًا يَّجْعَلُ الْوِلْدَانَ شِيْبَا ۖ(17)
(17) How, then, will you guard yourselves, if you disbelieve, on the day which shall make children grey-headed?
(17) پھر تم بھی کفر اختیار کرو گے تو اس دن سے کس طرح بچو گے جو بچوں کو بوڑھا بنادے گا
۟السَّمَآءُ مُنْفَطِرٌ ۢ بِهٖؕ كَانَ وَعْدُهٗ مَفْعُوْلًا(18)
(18) The heaven shall rend asunder thereby; His promise is ever brought to fulfillment.
(18) جس دن آسمان پھٹ پڑے گا اور یہ وعدہ بہرحال پورا ہونے والا ہے
اِنَّ هٰذِهٖ تَذْكِرَةٌ ۚ فَمَنْ شَآءَ اتَّخَذَ اِلٰى رَبِّهٖ سَبِيْلًا(19)
(19) Surely this is a reminder, then let him, who will take the way to his Lord.
(19) یہ درحقیقت عبرت و نصیحت کی باتیں ہیں اور جس کا جی چاہے اپنے پروردگار کے راستے کو اختیار کرلے
اِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ اَنَّكَ تَقُوْمُ اَدْنىٰ مِنْ ثُلُثَىِ الَّيْلِ وَ نِصْفَهٗ وَثُلُثَهٗ وَطَآئِفَةٌ مِّنَ الَّذِيْنَ مَعَكَؕ وَاللّٰهُ يُقَدِّرُ الَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَؕ عَلِمَ اَنْ لَّنْ تُحْصُوْهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاقْرَءُوْا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الْقُرْاٰنِؕ عَلِمَ اَنْ سَيَكُوْنُ مِنْكُمْ مَّرْضٰىۙ وَاٰخَرُوْنَ يَضْرِبُوْنَ فِى الْاَرْضِ يَبْتَغُوْنَ مِنْ فَضْلِ اللّٰهِۙ وَاٰخَرُوْنَ يُقَاتِلُوْنَ فِىْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ ۖ فَاقْرَءُوْا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ ۙ وَاَقِيْمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتُوا الزَّكٰوةَ وَاَقْرِضُوا اللّٰهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا ؕ وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوْا لِاَنْفُسِكُمْ مِّنْ خَيْرٍ تَجِدُوْهُ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا وَّاَعْظَمَ اَجْرًا ؕ وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا اللّٰهَ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ(20)
(20) Surely your Lord knows that you pass in prayer nearly two-thirds of the night, and (sometimes) half of it, and (sometimes) a third of it, and (also) a party of those with you; and Allah measures the night and the day. He knows that you are not able to do it, so He has turned to you (mercifully), therefore read what is easy of the Quran. He knows that there must be among you sick, and others who travel in the land seeking of the bounty of Allah, and others who fight in Allah's way, therefore read as much of it as is easy (to you), and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and offer to Allah a goodly gift, and whatever of good you send on beforehand for yourselves, you will find it with Allah; that is best and greatest in reward; and ask forgiveness of Allah; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
(20) آپ کا پروردگار جانتا ہے کہ دو تہائی رات کے قریب یا نصف شب یا ایک تہائی رات قیام کرتے ہیں اور آپ کے ساتھ ایک گروہ اور بھی ہے اور اللہ د ن و رات کا صحیح اندازہ رکھتا ہے وہ جانتا ہے کہ تم لوگ اس کا صحیح احصاء نہ کر سکوگے تو اس نے تمہارے اوپر مہربانی کر دی ہے اب جس قدر قرآن ممکن ہو اتنا پڑھ لو کہ وہ جانتا ہے کہ عنقریب تم میں سے بعض مریض ہوجائےں گے اور بعض رزق خدا کو تلاش کرنے کے لئے سفر میں چلے جائیںگے اور بعض راہِ خدا میں جہاد کریں گے تو جس قدر ممکن ہو تلاوت کرو اور نماز قائم کرو اور زکوٰة ادا کرو اور اللہ کو قرض حسنہ دو اور پھر جو کچھ بھی اپنے نفس کے واسطے نیکی پیشگی پھیج دو گے اسے خدا کی بارگاہ میں حاضر پاﺅگے ،بہتر اور اجر کے اعتبار سے عظیم تر۔اور اللہ سے استغفار کرو کہ وہ بہت زیادہ بخشنے والا اور مہربا ن ہے
