Some deeds are recommended in sacrificing an animal:
1. One should sacrifice a camel. If not possible then a cow. If that is also not possible then one should sacrifice a sheep.
2. The animal to be sacrificed should be healthy.
3. Camel and Cow should be female.
4. The camels fore limbs should be tied till the thighs. A person should stand on the right side and strike a spear, knife or a dagger on its neck deeply. The camel is sacrificed standing.
وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِیَ لِلَّذِیْ فَطَرَ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَ الْاَرْضَ حَنِیْفًا مُسْلِمًا وَ مَا اَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِیْنَ اِنَّ صَلَاتِیْ وَ نُسُكِیْ وَ مَحْیَایَ وَ مَمَاتِیْ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِیْنَ لَا شَرِیْكَ لَهٗ وَ بِذَالِكَ اُمِرْتُ وَ اَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِیْنَ اَللّٰهُمَّ مِنْكَ وَ لَكَ بِسْمِ اﷲِ وَ اﷲُ اَكْبَرُ اَللّٰهُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ مِنِّیْ۔
اَللّٰهُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ مِنِّیْ كَمَا تَقَبَّلْتَ مِنْ اِبْرَاهِیْمَ خَلِیْلِكَ وَ مُوْسٰی كَلِیْمِكَ وَ مُحَمَّدٍ حَبِیْبِكَ صَلَّی اﷲُ عَلَیْهِ وَ عَلَیْهِمْ۔
