۶۵ : سورة الطلاق
SURAH AT-TALAQ (THE DIVORCE)
This surah was revealed in Madinah and it has 12 verses. Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) has said that if surah at-Talaq and surah at-Tahrim are recited in the wajib prayers then the reciter will be protected by Allah (s.w.t) from the fear of the Day of Judgement and he will enter Paradise.
In another narration it is said that the one who recites this surah will be given the inspiration to perform Tawbatan Nasuha (the sincere repentance to Allah [s.w.t.]).
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
يٰۤاَيُّهَا النَّبِىُّ اِذَا طَلَّقْتُمُ النِّسَآءَ فَطَلِّقُوْهُنَّ لِعِدَّتِهِنَّ وَاَحْصُوا الْعِدَّةَ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ رَبَّكُمْ ۚ لَا تُخْرِجُوْهُنَّ مِنْۢ بُيُوْتِهِنَّ وَلَا يَخْرُجْنَ اِلَّاۤ اَنْ يَّاْتِيْنَ بِفَاحِشَةٍ مُّبَيِّنَةٍ ؕ وَتِلْكَ حُدُوْدُ اللّٰهِ ؕ وَمَنْ يَّتَعَدَّ حُدُوْدَ اللّٰهِ فَقَدْ ظَلَمَ نَفْسَهٗ ؕ لَا تَدْرِىْ لَعَلَّ اللّٰهَ يُحْدِثُ بَعْدَ ذٰ لِكَ اَمْرًا(1)
(1) O Prophet! when you divorce women, divorce them for~ their prescribed time, and calculate the number of the days prescribed, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, your Lord. Do not drive them out of their houses, nor should they themselves go forth, unless they commit an open indecency; and these are the limits of Allah, and whoever goes beyond the limits of Allah, he indeed does injustice to his own soul. You do not know that Allah may after that bring about reunion.
(1) اے پیغمبر ! جب تم لوگ عورتوں کو طلاق دو تو انہیں عدت کے حساب سے طلاق دو اور پھر عدت کا حساب رکھو اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو کہ وہ تمہارا پروردگار ہے اور خبردار انہیں ان کے گھروں سے مت نکالنا اور نہ وہ خود نکلیں جب تک کوئی کِھلا ہوا گناہ نہ کریں - یہ خدائی حدود ہیں اور جو خدائی حدود سے تجاوز کرے گا اس نے اپنے ہی نفس پر ظلم کیا ہے تمہیں نہیں معلوم کہ شاید خدا اس کے بعد کوئی نئی بات ایجاد کردے
فَاِذَا بَلَغْنَ اَجَلَهُنَّ فَاَمْسِكُوْهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوْفٍ اَوْ فَارِقُوْهُنَّ بِمَعْرُوْفٍ وَّاَشْهِدُوْا ذَوَىْ عَدْلٍ مِّنْكُمْ وَاَقِيْمُوا الشَّهَادَةَ لِلّٰهِ ؕ ذٰ لِكُمْ يُوْعَظُ بِهٖ مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللّٰهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْاٰخِرِ ۙ وَمَنْ يَّتَّقِ اللّٰهَ يَجْعَلْ لَّهٗ مَخْرَجًا ۙ(2)
(2) So when they have reached their prescribed time, then retain them with kindness or separate them with kindness, and call to witness two men of justice from among you, and give upright testimony for Allah. With that is admonished he who believes in Allah and the latter day; and whoever is careful of (his duty to) Allah, He will make for him an outlet,
(2) پھر جب وہ اپنی مدت کو پورا کرلیں تو انہیں نیکی کے ساتھ روک لو یا نیکی ہی کے ساتھ رخصت کردو اور طلاق کے لئے اپنے میں سے دو عادل افراد کو گواہ بناؤ اور گواہی کو صرف خدا کے لئے قائم کرو نصیحت ان لوگوں کو کی جارہی ہے جو خدا اور روز آخرت پر ایمان رکھتے ہیں اور جو بھی اللہ سے ڈرتا ہے اللہ اس کے لئے نجات کی راہ پیدا کردیتا ہے
وَّيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ ؕ وَمَنْ يَّتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللّٰهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهٗ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ بَالِغُ اَمْرِهٖ ؕ قَدْ جَعَلَ اللّٰهُ لِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدْرًا(3)
(3) And give him sustenance from whence he thinks not; and whoever trusts in Allah, He is sufficient for him; surely Allah attains His purpose; Allah indeed has appointed a measure for everything.
(3) اور اسے ایسی جگہ سے رزق دیتا ہے جس کا خیال بھی نہیں ہوتا ہے اور جو خدا پر بھروسہ کرے گا خدا اس کے لئے کافی ہے بیشک خدا اپنے حکم کا پہنچانے والا ہے اس نے ہر شے کے لئے ایک مقدار معین کردی ہے
وَالّٰٓىٴِْ يَئِسْنَ مِنَ الْمَحِيْضِ مِنْ نِّسَآئِكُمْ اِنِ ارْتَبْتُمْ فَعِدَّتُهُنَّ ثَلٰثَةُ اَشْهُرٍ وَّالّٰٓىٴِْ لَمْ يَحِضْنَ ؕ وَاُولَاتُ الْاَحْمَالِ اَجَلُهُنَّ اَنْ يَّضَعْنَ حَمْلَهُنَّ ؕ وَمَنْ يَّتَّقِ اللّٰهَ يَجْعَلْ لَّهٗ مِنْ اَمْرِهٖ یُسْرًا(4)
(4) And (as for) those of your women who have despaired of menstruation, if you have a doubt, their prescribed time shall be three months, and of those too who have not had their courses; and (as for) the pregnant women, their prescribed time is that they lay down their burden; and whoever is careful of (his duty to) Allah He will make easy for him his affair.
(4) اور تمہاری عورتوں میں جو حیض سے مایوس ہوچکی ہیں اگر ان کے یائسہ ہونے میں شک ہو تو ان کا عدہ تین مہینے ہے اور اسی طرح وہ عورتیں جن کے یہاں حیض نہیں آتا ہے اور حاملہ عورتوں کا عدہ وضع حمل تک ہے اور جو خدا سے ڈرتا ہے خدا اس کے امر میں آسانی پیدا کردیتا ہے
ذٰ لِكَ اَمْرُ اللّٰهِ اَنْزَلَهٗۤ اِلَيْكُمْ ؕ وَمَنْ يَّتَّقِ اللّٰهَ يُكَفِّرْ عَنْهُ سَيِّاٰتِهٖ وَيُعْظِمْ لَهٗۤ اَجْرًا(5)
(5) That is the command of Allah which He has revealed to you, and whoever is careful of (his duty to) Allah, He will remove from him his evil and give him a big reward.
(5) یہ حکم خدا ہے جسے تمہاری طرف اس نے نازل کیا ہے اور جو خدا سے ڈرتا ہے خدا اس کی برائیوں کو دور کردیتا ہے اور اس کے اجر میں اضافہ کردیتا ہے
اَسْكِنُوْهُنَّ مِنْ حَيْثُ سَكَنْتُمْ مِّنْ وُّجْدِكُمْ وَلَا تُضَآرُّوْهُنَّ لِتُضَيِّقُوْا عَلَيْهِنَّ ؕ وَاِنْ كُنَّ اُولَاتِ حَمْلٍ فَاَنْفِقُوا عَلَيْهِنَّ حَتّٰى يَضَعْنَ حَمْلَهُنَّ ۚ فَاِنْ اَرْضَعْنَ لَكُمْ فَاٰ تُوْهُنَّ اُجُوْرَهُنَّ ۚ وَاْتَمِرُوْا بَيْنَكُمْ بِمَعْرُوْفٍۚ وَاِنْ تَعَاسَرْتُمْ فَسَتُرْضِعُ لَهٗۤ اُخْرٰى ؕ(6)
(6) Lodge them where you lodge according to your means, and do not injure them in order that you may straiten them; and if they are pregnant, spend on them until they lay down their burden; then if they suckle for you, give them their recompense and enjoin one another among you to do good; and if you disagree, another (woman) shall suckle for him.
(6) اور ان مطلقات کو سکونت دو جیسی طاقت تم رکھتے ہو اور انہیں اذیت مت دو کہ اس طرح ان پر تنگی کرو اور اگر حاملہ ہوں تو ان پر اس وقت تک انفاق کرو جب تک وضع حمل نہ ہوجائے پھر اگر وہ تمہارے بچوں کو دودھ پلائیں تو انہیں ان کی اجرت دو اور اسے آپس میں نیکی کے ساتھ طے کرو اور اگر آپس میں کشاکش ہوجائے تو دوسری عورت کو دودھ پلانے کا موقع دو
لِيُنْفِقْ ذُوْ سَعَةٍ مِّنْ سَعَتِهٖؕ وَمَنْ قُدِرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقُهٗ فَلْيُنْفِقْ مِمَّاۤ اٰتٰٮهُ اللّٰهُؕ لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللّٰهُ نَفْسًا اِلَّا مَاۤ اٰتٰٮهَاؕ سَيَجْعَلُ اللّٰهُ بَعْدَ عُسْرٍ يُّسْرًا(7)
(7) Let him who has abundance spend out of his abundance and whoever has his means of subsistence straitened to him, let him spend out of that which Allah has given him; Allah does not lay on any soul a burden except to the extent to which He has granted it; Allah brings about ease after difficulty.
(7) صاحبِ وسعت کو چاہئے کہ اپنی وسعت کے مطابق خرچ کرے اور جس کے رزق میں تنگی ہے وہ اسی میں سے خرچ کرے جو خدا نے اسے دیا ہے کہ خدا کسی نفس کو اس سے زیادہ تکلیف نہیں دیتا ہے جتنا اسے عطا کیا گیا ہے عنقریب خدا تنگی کے بعد وسعت عطا کردے گا
وَكَاَيِّنْ مِّنْ قَرْيَةٍ عَتَتْ عَنْ اَمْرِ رَبِّهَا وَرُسُلِهٖ فَحَاسَبْنٰهَا حِسَابًا شَدِيْدًاۙ وَّعَذَّبْنٰهَا عَذَابًا نُّكْرًا(8)
(8) And how many a town which rebelled against the commandment of its Lord and His apostles, so We called it to account severely and We chastised it (with) a stern chastisement.
(8) اور کتنی ہی بستیاں ہیں جنہوں نے حکم خدا و رسول کی نافرمانی کی تو ہم نے ان کا شدید محاسبہ کرلیا اور انہیں بدترین عذاب میں متبلا کردیا
فَذَاقَتْ وَبَالَ اَمْرِهَا وَكَانَ عَاقِبَةُ اَمْرِهَا خُسْرًا(9)
(9) So it tasted the evil result of its conduct, and the end of its affair was perdition.
(9) پھر انہوں نے اپنے کام کے وبال کا مزہ چکھ لیا اور آخری انجام خسارہ ہی قرار پایا
اَعَدَّ اللّٰهُ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيْدًا ۙ فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ يٰۤاُولِى الْاَ لْبَابِ ۖۚ ۛ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا ۛؕ قَدْ اَنْزَلَ اللّٰهُ اِلَيْكُمْ ذِكْرًا ۙ(10)
(10) Allah has prepared for them severe chastisement, therefore be careful of (your duty to) Allah, O men of understanding who believe! Allah has indeed revealed to you a reminder,
(10) ﷲ نے ان کے لئے شدید قسم کا عذاب مہیّا کر رکھا ہے لہذا ایمان والو اور عقل والو اللہ سے ڈرو کہ اس نے تمہاری طرف اپنے ذکر کو نازل کیا ہے
رَّسُوْلًا يَّتْلُوْا عَلَيْكُمْ اٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ مُبَيِّنٰتٍ لِّيُخْرِجَ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ مِنَ الظُّلُمٰتِ اِلَى النُّوْرِؕ وَمَنْ يُّؤْمِنْۢ بِاللّٰهِ وَيَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا يُّدْخِلْهُ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِىْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَاۤ اَبَدًاؕ قَدْ اَحْسَنَ اللّٰهُ لَهٗ رِزْقًا(11)
(11) An Apostle who recites to you the clear communications of Allah so that he may bring forth those who believe and do good deeds from darkness into light; and whoever believes in Allah and does good deeds, He will cause him to enter gardens beneath which rivers now, to abide therein forever, Allah has indeed given him a goodly sustenance.
(11) وہ رسول جو اللہ کی واضح آیات کی تلاوت کرتا ہے کہ ایمان اور نیک عمل کرنے والوں کو تاریکیوں سے نکال کر نور کی طرف لے آئے اور جو خدا پر ایمان رکھے گا اور نیک عمل کرے گا خدا اسے ان جنتوں میں داخل کرے گا جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہوں گی وہ ان ہی میں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں اور اللہ نے انہیں یہ بہترین رزق عطا کیا ہے
اَللّٰهُ الَّذِىْ خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمٰوٰتٍ وَّمِنَ الْاَرْضِ مِثْلَهُنَّ ؕ يَتَنَزَّلُ الْاَمْرُ بَيْنَهُنَّ لِتَعْلَمُوْۤا اَنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ ۙ وَّاَنَّ اللّٰهَ قَدْ اَحَاطَ بِكُلِّ شَىْءٍ عِلْمًا(12)
(12) Allah is He Who created seven heavens, and of the earth the like of them; the decree continues to descend among them, that you may know that Allah has power over all things and that Allah indeed encompasses all things in (His) knowledge.
(12) ﷲہی وہ ہے جس نے ساتوں آسمانوں کو پیدا کیا ہے اور زمینوں میں بھی ویسی ہی زمینیں بنائی ہیں اس کے احکام ان کے درمیان نازل ہوتے رہتے ہیں تاکہ تمہیں یہ معلوم رہے کہ وہ ہر شے پر قادر ہے اور اس کا علم تمام اشیائ کو محیط ہے
