۶۳ : سورة المنافقون
SURAH AL-MUNAFIQUN (THE HYPOCRITES)
There are 11 verses in this ‘Madani’ surah. It is narrated that Imam Ja’far as-Sadiq (a.s.) said that it is necessary for our followers that they recite, in their prayers on Thursday nights, surah Jumah and surah al-A’ala, and on Fridays, at the time of noon prayers, surah Jumah and surah al-Munafiqun. Whoever does this, it will be like he has obeyed the command of the Holy Prophet (S), and his reward will be Paradise.
The Holy Prophet (S) said that by the recitation of this surah, a person stays free from Shirk and hypocrisy. Recitation of this surah over a wound will heal it and over any ache will cure the ache. In fact, it is a cure for all diseases and ailments.
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
اِذَا جَآءَكَ الْمُنٰفِقُوْنَ قَالُوْا نَشْهَدُ اِنَّكَ لَرَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ ۘ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ اِنَّكَ لَرَسُوْلُهٗ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ يَشْهَدُ اِنَّ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ لَكٰذِبُوْنَ ۚ(1)
(1) When the hypocrites come to you, they say: We bear witness that you are most surely Allah's Apostle; and Allah knows that you are most surely His Apostle, and Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are surely liars.
(1) پیغمبر یہ منافقین آپ کے پاس آتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم گواہی دیتے ہیں کہ آپ اللہ کے رسول ہیں اور اللہ بھی جانتا ہے کہ آپ اس کے رسول ہیں لیکن اللہ گواہی دیتا ہے کہ یہ منافقین اپنے دعویٰ میں جھوٹے ہیں
اِتَّخَذُوْۤا اَيْمَانَهُمْ جُنَّةً فَصَدُّوْا عَنْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِؕ اِنَّهُمْ سَآءَ مَا كَانُوْا يَعْمَلُوْنَ(2)
(2) They make their oaths a shelter, and thus turn away from Allah's way; surely evil is that which they do.
(2) انہوں نے اپنی قسموں کو سپر بنالیا ہے اور لوگوں کو راہ خدا سے روک رہے ہیں یہ ان کے بدترین اعمال ہیں جو یہ انجام دے رہے ہیں
ذٰلِكَ بِاَنَّهُمْ اٰمَنُوْا ثُمَّ كَفَرُوْا فَطُبِعَ عَلٰى قُلُوْبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَفْقَهُوْنَ(3)
(3) That is because they believe, then disbelieve, so a seal is set upon their hearts so that they do not understand.
(3) یہ اس لئے ہے کہ یہ پہلے ایمان لائے پھر کافر ہوگئے تو ان کے دلوں پر مہر لگادی گئی تو اب کچھ نہیں سمجھ رہے ہیں
وَاِذَا رَاَيْتَهُمْ تُعْجِبُكَ اَجْسَامُهُمْ ؕ وَاِنْ يَّقُوْلُوْا تَسْمَعْ لِقَوْلِهِمْ ؕ كَاَنَّهُمْ خُشُبٌ مُّسَنَّدَةٌ ؕ يَحْسَبُوْنَ كُلَّ صَيْحَةٍ عَلَيْهِمْ ؕ هُمُ الْعَدُوُّ فَاحْذَرْهُمْ ؕ قَاتَلَهُمُ اللّٰهُ اَنّٰى يُؤْفَكُوْنَ(4)
(4) And when you see them, their persons will please you, and If they speak, you will listen to their speech; (they are) as if they were big pieces of wood clad with garments; they think every cry to be against them. They are the enemy, therefore beware of them; may Allah destroy them, whence are they turned back?
(4) اور جب آپ انہیں دیکھیں گے تو ان کے جسم بہت اچھے لگیں گے اور بات کریں گے تو اس طرح کہ آپ سننے لگیں لیکن حقیقت میں یہ ایسے ہیں جیسے دیوار سے لگائی ہوئی سوکھی لکڑیاں کہ یہ ہر چیخ کو اپنے ہی خلاف سمجھتے ہیں اور یہ واقعا دشمن ہیں ان سے ہوشیار رہئے خدا انہیں غارت کرے یہ کہاں بہکے چلے جارہے ہیں
وَاِذَا قِيْلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا يَسْتَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ لَوَّوْا رُءُوْسَهُمْ وَرَاَيْتَهُمْ يَصُدُّوْنَ وَهُمْ مُّسْتَكْبِرُوْنَ(5)
(5) And when it is said to them: Come, the Apostle of Allah will ask forgiveness for you, they turn back their heads and you may see them turning away while they are big with pride.
(5) اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ آؤ رسول اللہ تمہارے حق میں استغفار کریں گے تو سر پھرا لیتے ہیں اور تم دیکھو گے کہ استکبار کی بنا پر منہ بھی موڑ لیتے ہیں
سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ اَسْتَغْفَرْتَ لَهُمْ اَمْ لَمْ تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْؕ لَنْ يَّغْفِرَ اللّٰهُ لَهُمْؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَا يَهْدِى الْقَوْمَ الْفٰسِقِيْنَ(6)
(6) It is alike to them whether you beg forgiveness for them or do not beg forgiveness for them; Allah will never forgive them; surely Allah does not guide the transgressing people.
(6) ان کے لئے سب برابر ہے چاہے آپ استغفار کریں یا نہ کریں خدا انہیں بخشنے والا نہیں ہے کہ یقینا اللہ بدکار قوم کی ہدایت نہیں کرتا ہے
هُمُ الَّذِيْنَ يَقُوْلُوْنَ لَا تُنْفِقُوْا عَلٰى مَنْ عِنْدَ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ حَتّٰى يَنْفَضُّوْاؕ وَلِلّٰهِ خَزَآئِنُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَلٰكِنَّ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ لَا يَفْقَهُوْنَ(7)
(7) They it is who say: Do not spend upon those who are with the Apostle of Allah until they break up. And Allah's are the treasures of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do not understand.
(7) یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جو کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ کے ساتھیوں پر کچھ خرچ نہ کرو تاکہ یہ لوگ منتشر ہوجائیں حالانکہ آسمان و زمین کے سارے خزانے اللہ ہی کے لئے ہیں اور یہ منافقین اس بات کو نہیں سمجھ رہے ہیں
يَقُوْلُوْنَ لَئِنْ رَّجَعْنَاۤ اِلَى الْمَدِيْنَةِ لَيُخْرِجَنَّ الْاَعَزُّ مِنْهَا الْاَذَلَّؕ وَلِلّٰهِ الْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُوْلِهٖ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَلٰكِنَّ الْمُنٰفِقِيْنَ لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ(8)
(8) They say: If we return to Medina, the mighty will surely drive out the meaner therefrom; and to Allah belongs the might and to His Apostle and to the believers, but the hypocrites do not know.
(8) یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ اگر ہم مدینہ واپس آگئے تو ہم صاحبان عزت ان ذلیل افراد کو نکال باہر کریں گے حالانکہ ساری عزت اللہ , رسول اور صاحبان ایمان کے لئے ہے اور یہ منافقین یہ جانتے بھی نہیں ہیں
يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تُلْهِكُمْ اَمْوَالُكُمْ وَلَاۤ اَوْلَادُكُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللّٰهِۚ وَمَنْ يَّفْعَلْ ذٰلِكَ فَاُولٰٓئِكَ هُمُ الْخٰسِرُوْنَ(9)
(9) O you who believe! let not your wealth, or your children, divert you from the remembrance of Allah; and whoever does that, these are the losers.
(9) ایمان والو خبردار تمہارے اموال اور تمہاری اولاد تمہیں یاد خدا سے غافل نہ کردے کہ جو ایسا کرے گا وہ یقینا خسارہ والوں میں شمار ہوگا
وَاَنْفِقُوْا مِنْ مَّا رَزَقْنٰكُمْ مِّنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ يَّاْتِىَ اَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ فَيَقُوْلَ رَبِّ لَوْلَاۤ اَخَّرْتَنِىْۤ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ قَرِيْبٍۙ فَاَصَّدَّقَ وَاَكُنْ مِّنَ الصّٰلِحِيْنَ(10)
(10) And spend out of what We have given you before death comes to one of you, so that he should say: My Lord! why didst Thou not respite me to a near term, so that I should have given alms and been of the doers of good deeds?
(10) اور جو رزق ہم نے عطا کیا ہے اس میں سے ہماری راہ میں خرچ کرو قبل اس کے کہ تم میں سے کسی کو موت آجائے اور وہ یہ کہے کہ خدایا ہمیں تھوڑے دنوں کی مہلت کیوں نہیں دے دیتا ہے کہ ہم خیرات نکالیں اور نیک بندوں میں شامل ہوجائیں
وَلَنْ يُّؤَخِّرَ اللّٰهُ نَفْسًا اِذَا جَآءَ اَجَلُهَاؕ وَاللّٰهُ خَبِيْرٌۢ بِمَا تَعْمَلُوْنَ(11)
(11) And Allah does not respite a soul when its appointed term has come, and Allah is Aware of what you do.
(11) اور ہرگز خدا کسی کی اجل کے آجانے کے بعد اس میں تاخیر نہیں کرتا ہے اور وہ تمہارے اعمال سے خوب باخبر ہے
